SELPHY Photo Layout

works pretty well to print photos on my cp1500. connecting to the printer was pain free. I think it's a bit difficult to find photos taken in the past. it would be nice if the photo picker was a bit more intuitive and would let you zoom in on the photo before selecting. this would help me pick the best out of a selection of similar looking photos

Great quality due to multi-pass printing. I like the option of square or rectangular prints. Sticky back paper works well for my journaling applications, but can also just be used as a regular print. The printing app is easy to use. I do use another photo editing app, only because I've used it for years, and mainly use the app for printing.

Horrible update. I used to be able to print batches of pictures with 2 or 4 to a sheet and now it's all collage or one size. I can no longer do 2 or 4 to a page without it making a collage. Bring back the N-Up feature. Without it, it will take ages to print 2 pics to a sheet for more than just 2 pictures at a time. Losing the N-Up feature is a game changer for how I use my printer. Will be looking for a new printer with an app I can use. Sad, because this is a really great little printer.

You really, really took this app back 10 steps by removing the bookmark function. That was one of the best things about the app. I gave my elder relatives bookmarks as gifts and they loved them. Why on earth would you have done this? Sure, I can design something in a 3rd party app and save it as a 4x6 sized image, import and print. But most people likely lack that ability. You had a nice little software package in which you downgraded drastically. PLEASE bring the postcard option back!

I ❤️ this little printer! The quality of the photos is amazing! The reason for the 4 stars is I would like to be able to put in the date of my photos instead of having to push the back arrow...some of my photos are long ago so it takes a lot of taps to get to them. And I have to do that for every photo... even from the same event. I think it should be able to save the place where you get to until you are done! Just annoying!

We bought this to make it easy to print out photos on the fly. It is so easy. It comes with a few 4 x 6 gloss pieces of photo paper and enough ink to print. You'll need to order more right away. The instructions for printing can use more explanation. you need to open the print cassette all the way and place the photo paper in cassette (glossy side up). Do not close the cassette. Open the front panel and gently slide the smaller end into the printer. It will say "Busy". Click OK on the check.

The new update is the worst. I usually print 4 per page but my photos are a different ratio than the paper, so I select fit on each photo, and cut off the white excess later. In the new update the "fit" option CUTS OFF parts of my photo. I don't need it to almost fit, I need it to actually fit. Also if I try to manually zoom it out, the photo rotates!!! it's impossible to layout exactly without chunks of my photos being cut off or them being the same size. This is ridiculous.

Not a huge fan of the update. Please remove or create the option to remove the dark frame around the ID picture. (This option is available in the collage layout) I was able to create additional sizing of ID pictures and now it is not an option with the dark framing as it cuts into/cuts off the photo. Can additional sizing for ID photos also be an option for future updates? Such as 2x3 or 3x3. Much appreciated.

The app doesn't work for me. I can't print through the app and it kept giving me connection errors. Printing through wifi works but what's the point of the app if I can't use it? 😔 Edit: I finally got it to work after some troubleshooting. I had to turn off my ad blocker on my phone and then it was finally able to connect through the app. The new version of the app also has less features so they need to bring back n-up

I absolutely LOVE this printer, but HATE THE NEWEST app UPDATE!!! I used to be able to upload several pics and it would print them one right after another - nowi have to do them one at a time - VERY TIME CONSUMING! I use the Collage feature and the "fill/fit" feature has changed, and now I HAVE TO EDIT EVERY PICTURE before I print it. I SPEND SO MUCH MORE TIME with this NEWEST app version versus the previous one. PLEASE FIX THESE ISSUES!!!!!!

connection is not consistent. When I first bought the printer, I could print via the app easily and often. Not long after, I started to encounter connection issues, unable to connect to the printer. I tried different connection methods, turning printer off, checking for software and firmware updates, but still could not do a single print. Eventually I reregistered the printer and got a single print out of it before it complained once again about connection issues.

Perfect sized prints for my journalling, & the sticky back is very helpful. The Selphy & the app are easy to use, and it's handy that the photo paper also comes with the ink cartridge. My only wish would be that it used the whole paper and that the option to not have a writing border was available as I'm forever cutting this part off.

One of the updates got rid of possibility to create multiple pages at once (example: I select 8 photos and create two pages, 4 photos each). I was using that a lot for printing smaller photos - (EDIT: thank you for adding it back!!! I'm happy!!! nothing is missing now, 5/5 stars) I like how reliable the app is when it comes to connecting and printing. It a rare sight these days.

The app works like it should. but I need an option to go through Google photos and share with the Selphy app. not all my photos are on my phone, and I have photos spanning several years that I don't need to be scrolling, I should be able to search my photos and then print them. PLEASE add the ability to share Google photos with the Selphy app!

Wish I had purchased sooner. I was buying 4x6 photos from a drugstore and then cutting them up to get the size I wanted. if I want a smaller photo I can get more than one photo on sheet, so it actually ends up being less money than ordering from the store.

I cannot select "fit" or anything to prevent the app just auto-cropping the image. So I cannot seemingly print anything without it wrecking the photo. When I go into Canon Print Services it tells me the paper size I am entering isn't correct when I'm literally typing in the 100x143mm measurement from the Canon box.

It automatically adjusts the colors when cropping photos, which is a stupid feature because I want consistent colors, I need the same exact colour when I zooming photo because I use that printer for art reference. Also, Auto Fit should be the default, but even when I use Auto Fit, some areas of the photo end up outside the canvas. Zooming is difficult too, because zoom and rotation are combined.

I think it is a bit clumsy to use. when I want to change our a picture in a collage, it often says 'Picture cannot be used' for whatever reason, also it doesn't remember the last folder so you need to get back to it. Connection to printer and setup worked well

Really disappointed and annoyed! I installed this app to ensure compatibility with my phone before purchasing the QX20. App installed, looked good, but when I bought the printer I found the app won't connect to the printer. It's installed an older version of the app on my phone and won't allow me to upgrade to the current version. I've searched for an alternative app but nothing else works. Now I can't return the printer or paper or ink because they have been opened. What a waste of money.

Update ruined everything. I miss the bookmark feature. I used the Selphy over the Ivy to print book covers because the print quality was better. Now I can't make them the size I want. Edit: I got it to do the size I wanted but the app really took away options for people. I think I just got lucky in what I needed (I print 2 different sized book covers for my journal) edit: even to this day it's awful. I have a workaround for the march2025 version, but anything newer took even more features away
