Works quite well. I am a long haul truck driver, and with winter approaching I need to be able to look ahead on my route. With this, I just click through a series of locations and check the notifications along my route. What would make this app ten times better is if this process were automated, if I could enter a route and have it check along the whole thing for warnings.
Got this app specifically for weather alerts, and it serves its purpose. No fluff, bare minimum, and I'm Happy with that. Notifications and alerts go off on a timely manner; the different icons for different alerts on the notification bar on the top of my device is a nice touch. App is completely ad-free, and free of charge, and actually works. 👍👍
Overall good but buggy on new phone. used to have this on an old phone running android 8. Recently got a newish pixel 7a running android 16 and have had many problems with location. Auto detect only sometimes works, other times saying "location services disabled" even when they aren't. The fixed location option never works always telling me there aren't any options that match my search. When it works, like on my old phone, it is a 5/5 app. Hope these bugs can be fixed & I can love it again.
What an incredibly useful, straight-to-the-point app! Does exactly what I need it to, and perfectly! Fully customizable notification categories, the ability to customize which types of alerts fall into which category, real-time alerts as they're posted by the NWS, and zero branding, clean notifications. Thank you, devs! Probably one of my favorite apps on my phone for how well it works.
Great app if you move around a lot, as it only alerts you if severe weather is near your current location. Which is determined automatically based on phone location service...no more alerts for areas you WERE AT but no longer are at. All alerts are configurable as extreme, high, medium or low and alert tones can be assigned to each level. Works great and alerts are sent as soon as the weather service announces.
Downloaded app in May 2021 as replacement to WDT's Weather Radio, which is no longer supported. Have had the opportunity to run it through its paces and works great. Notifications seem to come within seconds to a couple of minutes after NWS issues its watch, warning, etc. Very timely. With the recent update to add subscription, I opted to pay the subscription, even though I don't need the added feature. I will support developers with great apps, and this is one everyone should have.
SWA has greatly improved since my last post. SWA is VERY on the ball, sounding the alarm no more than a minute or two within the time of warning issuance. If you need an app that's not only more accurate than your phone's built-in wireless emergency alerts, but more customizable in regards to what you get audible alerts for as well, this app is THE ONE.
I really like the app. I've always needed one like this. I do wish that you were able to put a notification sound on medium and low as well as create custom levels with sounds. I would even pay a little bit for that feature. I would like to assign sounds to all the different types of warnings so I can tell what type of alert it is just by hearing the noise. However it's still a very good app and worth five stars. This is very good for people who are outdoors or in areas w/ inclement weather
All I wanted was an app that would give me a notification when the temperature was going to drop below freezing so that I would leave a faucet dripping. Never got that notification. Instead I got a notice from my phone warning me the app was frequently crashing and to put it into deep sleep. It has some good uses but not what I was looking for and worries me that it's crashing in the background so often that my phone would warn me about it.
My only gripe is that you need to pay for pro when knowing the weather in all areas instead of one area should be free access regardless since that is our freedom rights. But other than that it's a nice little app. I like it. I could make it 5 star if it was completely free or we do a 1 time payment for pro version. Instead of being money greedy hoggers having to pay monthly or yearly. Come on really? Get serious. However, I will agree on one thing yearly is affordable. In the least.
I installed this app when Weather Radio was no longer supported on the latest Android OS. One thing it did that your app doesn't do is announce an alert even when my phone was set on Mute. That was great because I mute my phone when I am sleeping. I noticed that the Alarm on my phone's Clock will sound even when muted, so there must be some way to bypass the phone's mute setting. Otherwise, it's a great app.
Good for one very specific location at a time. Alert notifications work, which is more than I can say for many similar apps. It would be better with a few additional features: option to be alerted when watches/warnings expire; county level location selection; full state location selection; filter by type of alerts to be notified of; and location search results showing city and state so you know you have the right one (there are many cities with the same name).
Utterly unreliable! Set app to follow my location. Removed from battery optimization. Set alarm sounds for certain conditions. And then I waited for the alerts to go off. But it rarely does. When it alerts me occasionally it is almost always from a location I visited in the past. Just right now received tornado alert - for Illinois. But I'm in Georgia!! Have to cancel subscription and move on. Great idea, bad execution.
I really love this app. The app isn't fully limited to weather alerts, you can receive all sorts of alerts too! You can customize what alerts you'd like to receive and how they should be sent to you. I've been using this app for the past 2 years and it has served me well for less minor emergency alerts that don't get sent out.
I'm not getting any alert notifications again. I've tried reinstalling the app, checking all the notification settings, battery optimization is off, running in background, no data restrictions, but nothing. It's been this way for a couple of weeks now.
very very dependable and is the best weather alerts are wright on the money you don't need to perches anything it comes straight through noas weather jest check what alerts you want and turn on so you get the alerts! you can't go wrong I have it the past three years never let me down yet. you really need to try it i live where snow ❄️ storm's hit. can't go wrong (serperb app)
As described the app pretty much remains quiet with nothing to see when opening but when it comes alive like it did for me earlier today, it gave me a very detailed warning about severe (55+ mph gusts, happens here) wind in next 24 hrs within my set notification. Then when I opened the app, more information. Must also note the way the info is presented impressed me too... Professional warning/advisory like NOAA not juvenile attention getting animations for example. Appreciate that.
Excellent app, deserves much higher rating as everything works great. It works well when using TalkBack, no accessibility issues. My only wish is a way to just donate a few dollars for continued development. The pro version is more than I can spend on an app right now but would happily send a one time $5 if I could. I got notified about a Winter Advisory in 2 days from this app before my local tv station sent anything.
Hmmm...not sure what's up but I'm not getting alerts. Not all of them. We have a River flood alert till further notice not showing. Flood alert from snowmelt not showing. Flood alert from high waters at one of the local lakes not showing all NWS issued and showing up on other apps. Had high hopes but so far dissappointed. Open it now and it says I'm in the clear. Not so, three nws alerts issued for my area none of them are showing up.
I got this app to get an early warning for severe weather conditions and it performs this task well. I would have given it five stars but there is an issue that I have with it. I'm not sure if it is a problem with the app or my phone, though. I paid for the Pro version subscription so that I can monitor a few locations at the same time. The problem I'm having that every once in a while the locations that I have set up disappear and only the current location is monitored.
