Avoid. They try to lure you in with "free Sezzle spend", but then force you into a subscription to be able to spend it. On top of that if the item you purchase turns out to be less than the spending limit you originally requested, the "refund" gets taken out of your Sezzle spend so you end up paying full price or close to it anyway. then they do you the "courtesy" of rolling your Sezzle spend to a new purchase, forcing you to spend more to "save" and creating a constant loop of fees.

Paying off this account and never using it again. Issues faced are beyond frustrating. If paying a down payment with a debit card then you should be able to make payments with that debit card. If adding funds to the Sezzle balance, you shouldn't have to fund that balance for more than the balance owed. Initially had a high spend and was dropped down to $50 out of the clear blue. No late payments, no missed payments. Not wasting anymore time with this app, others are far better. Not 1 star, 1/2.

sezzle has terrible consumer practices .I had stopped using sezzle for a while up until they offered me a promo to pay only a $1 for a "pay anywhere subscription," so I decided to use it again. As of recently, I closed it again because they charge you a late fee on the day that its due. No company does that. furthermore, they force you to use only an account number to pay for your installments and if you don't. they will charge you 1.99 for every successful transfer on your debit card.

This app is nothing but false advertisement. It claims it's accepted anywhere visa is, BUT you have to "qualify" to even pay for the subscription to be able to use it anywhere. To qualify, you have to make 20+ payments. Mind you, this is a "pay in 4" app. So you have to make 5 purchases through the app with specific merchants to qualify to buy the subscription. For example, it advertises that Doordash works but it doesn't unless you have the subscription.

Beware! Huge con!!! I paid for the monthly subscription fee, thinking the reason I couldn't get approval to purchase anything was that I hadn't subscribed. 12.99 for the membership. I again tried to place several orders. 5 declined orders, all within my spending limit. I tried 1 small order, which didn't qualify for the "payments" option. It went straight through. B/c it processed as a full payment, just through Sezzle. They're basically lying to gain access to your accounts, payment methods, etc

Edit: Had reviewed based on being unable to make payments with debit any longer. Found a way to do it, where I have to add balance to my account using debit, and now it's giving me the debit option again for some (not all) early payments, so I don't have to use the prepaid balance to make the payments after I've already put the money for the payments into the balance. This is frustrating. Do better.

Everything is premium which incurs an additional fee. Spending power changes based on store, not sure this will work for me. *Edit: Can we give less than one star? now this app is just a money grab. they claim to give you credit, but it's not actually usable. can't pay with card, just an account reload-which is a higher requirement than what I owe, PLUS fees?? Got to be illegal.

Sigh. I want to love Sezzle, because it's a great way to not use real credit - but the due dates are confusing. What the app says and the actual due date are apparently 2 different things. They charge you earlier than you expect, and then they charge you late fees. And no, they won't waive these fees, even if you're a great customer and a member of their $18/month premium thing. 1 star for the app because it is not accurate and 1 star for customer service. 5 stars for the payment plans.

So I've had no issues with placing orders through Sezzle thus far. My only issue is that there are two separate subscription charges. You pay $12.99 for Sezzle Premium, which gives you a wider selection of retailers to order from, but then will have to pay an additional $17.99 for Sezzle Premium, which let's you shop anywhere. There are other small perks both subscriptions offer, but that's still $31/month not including your installments fees.

Up till last spring no problems, then all summer they start pushing this 'Anywhere' program. It's a rip off, they charge 20 bucks so you can literally use the service anywhere. So guess what, you don't use it, they still get 20 bucks a month from you! On top of the service charge for each transaction! Sezzle, learn from Zip. Otherwise if you have to use this service it's ok but don't expect to have as much flexibility using it outside of their recommended stores.

They removed the ability to manually make payments with a debit card. But they'll let you use sezzle wallet for that! The wallet that has a minimum $30 deposit requirement AND charges you a fee to use on top of the fee you pay at purchasing. This app went from a useful, convenient way to buy things and help you out to an absolute cash grab. Pathetic. I'll be uninstalling once my last purchase is paid off.

it was great until...sezzle balance. so now you have to load your balance in order to pay your bill or purchase things. they say it's to make using your money easier but it's just a money grab. you have to load $30 or more and there is a $4.99 fee for this. your sezzle balance can not be refunded and if you are inactive for too long, they will TAKE $5 from your sezzle balance. AFFIRM, AFTERPAY, ZIP...all viable options. deleting now.

confusing and poorly designed app. There is no clear "pay here" button, I'm left trying to navigate through what I'm assumed the developers thought was a stellar design, but it's garbage. I've attempted several times to pay on time, to either not see my payment and assume they retrieved their money owed, just to see several days later, the payment was NEVER MADE. Attempts to make a payment leaves me stuck and frustrated. Never found it so difficult to give someone my money.

Dropped spending power out of nowhere , made on time and even early payments my purchase power went from $400 to $325 with no explanation. I even gained a higher tier (Platinum) All of my purchases have been well over $80+ each how does this make sense if payments are being paid (not late) and even ahead of time . Wouldn't you want to give a responsible customer a HIGHER spending amount rather than discourage them from using your app by LOWERING the amount they can spend without warning?

Doesn't tell you until after the fact that you have to link a bank account, not a card, to actually make payments. It ALSO will not allow me to actually do so, so they can keep charging me late fees every month when they DO charge my card instead. If I use plaid, it gives me an error. If I use my routing and account number, it just redirects me back to plaid. So the "second option" is actually just a bold faced lie

I was happy with this app at first. credit limit kept increasing. got it up pretty high and had everything paid off. I went to use it again for a about a 3rd of my limit. next day my over all limit decreased by $500 not including what I had spent. then with in another week it dropped all the way down to $250. no missed payments or anything. talked to customer service and they said they couldn't do anything.

I really used to love Sezzle. I dont use it often, just when I am balancing bills and purchases. But its not really worth it to me to have to add a subscription to shop with them. Pretty much every single store I would need to use this for is premium only now. Ive never missed a single payment, and my limit is at 2000...but I dont think I can use it anymore. I would rather have an amount added to the total than commit to a subscription. It was really nice when it wasnt like that though.

No Longer Working Initially I had no issues with the app and its my preferred pay later method. However, since the most recent Samsung update I have been unable to use the app. Sezzle customer service has been unable to provide assistance in resolving, as they are saying its a developer error. All I know is that I am unable to use the app and the web version is limited in functions. The fees can be pretty hefty, now that I've looked at them. I may have to rethink some things.

Can't utilize debit cards for repayment!!!! If you don't link your bank account, you will be unable to pay with a debit card UNTIL THE PAYMENT IS LATE!!!!! This makes absolutely no sense and seems to be a ploy, to boost initial signups. If you don't link the bank account, it will always be late even if you attempt to manually pay it. The BBB should look into Sezzle's business practices.

Honestly, no problems with the app itself. My primary gripe is the payment method. First payment can be via debit card, but the other three has to be by bank. Meaning I have to wait a day or two before it processes. Other apps, such as Zip uses the card, making paying things of easier, allowing me to pay it off early and ahead of schedule without having to wait more than a day for my funds to be taken out of my account. Dec 30th 25: Funds was taken, app is now taking more than 4 days to process
