typical government app that constantly provides alerts but takes you to a screen with massive data across Australia despite having selected my local beaches only for alerts.

Was about to go for a late-lunchtime dip at Merimbula beach and my ph pinged with a white shark notification - so I just chilled on land and am sending this 🦈 Awesome app - great to see the history of specific sharks, e.g. Whitey-2173 Request for 'shark-cam' and a CTA to learn more on the individual shark data collected during tagging, e.g age, injuries, diet, distinguishing features

this used to work fine. but all my save locations are gone - each time I open the app, even today.

The app has potential, but it's not really addressing user needs. I would suggest that you include coloured pins that indicate shark activity, (ie red/amber/blue), and also list "last detection", if any. Should also report actual shark attacks even if it's outside of supervised beaches. Reporting that a beach is not going to be patrolled is not really helpful, and should be less prominent. Surfers want to know last patrol and the most recent sitings. The app should also request location and start on my location. If not near a beach, just set a default location as it does now.

Its a good app in giving up to date information. But I think it would be better if it was in keeping with other shark tracker apps that when you click on the icons it gives you a photo and name of the shark, and further info that might be of interest to people and their travel path of the last 12 months. It would help people to better appreciate sharks.

March 23:After a year of providing feedback, basic App functionality was finally fixed. How it was ever released without proper testing is still a mystery (bugs included no feedback,no push notification, no selection of favourite beach).Over the last few days, it has again dropped my favourite beaches. Even when re-entered, it is pushing notifications for events in all areas. Yes, my settings are correct. I've pretty much given up on this app. Please let me know if the development team changes.

clunky. it's annoying that I'm observing a shark sightings details and the screen switches (too sensitively???) to another screen and then I can't get back intuitively to the main tagged shark details.

Useless app. Cannot save favourite beach so get useless alerts which are not sorted from the latest alerts at the top. Useless to know a shark was in the area a month ago. This app was a waste of taxpayers money and could do more harm than good because vital up to date information may not reach the user.

Poor experience. The app can't save my fav beaches, do it's sending me notifications all the time, even during the time I marked as Do not disturb! What's the point? Can you properly test your app? It could be a very valuable tool but I have no trust it's accurate when the app is not even working with it's basic settings.

Having given up on this app 18 months ago, I revisited to see if it had improved and bugs fixed. The app has location settings enabled ( in settings you can actually see that location was accessed), yet alerts near me show no beaches. I am right next to one. So still buggy, just new bugs compared to 18 months ago.

I was hoping the app had been fixed by now considering the importance of this info. All previous reviews remain accurate, app regularly crashes, when you click on the sighting in your area you get the whole list of shark sightings across a huge coastline, not just the one you click on. And it won't save my favourite places. Please use our taxpayer money to fund a real app designer to fix this. Great idea, poor delivery. Uninstalled. Trying Dorsal.

Does not save location, favourite beaches does not work, aerial detection icon completely wrong. Nice idea but useless. As a Surf Lufesaving Patrol Captain, I was hoping that the app would be useful to us. Awaiting for a proper apo developer to work on this, but as it's a government department, I'm not holding my breath.

Can't save favourite beaches so I continued to get all of the alerts. Eventually had to turn off notifications because there were so many but when I check my local area the sightings that had been coming through when notifications were on didn't show up so basically this app is now useless to me.

Only had this app a few days, so far so good but I get alerts for all beaches even though I have set my beaches up, which is why it loses 2 stars. It's bloody annoying. I get about 15+ notifications a day

good app for ocean users.give you an idea of were they frequent. iv been using it for about 5 years now and there is definitely a pattern of were they go and what times of year..I reckon they should get extra information about the size when tagged and then size years later when detected to see growth rates

It would be beneficial that when a shark is located instead of just saying its number some additional details should be provided about it including its size when first tagged.....ideally a url to the tagged shark database. Is there a database of all tagged sharks that you can scroll through? I would also like to see taggings by location & date range. Would also be good if all tagged sharks could have tracklines displayed so you can easily see their path travelled.

Unintuitive, difficult. Cannot even add favourite beaches as the app seems to be incapable of doing so. Alerts come in, how I don't know! Frustrating. Needs a lot of work. Well, after contacting the developers and hoping for some improvement, I downloaded and installed it again today 20 Jan 2020. Nothing has improved. Uninstalled it again.
