Simple Contacts

It kind of does it, just slowly. Too many ads and it just takes too long to think. Wanna quickly dial someone? Open up Simple Contacts then wait for the next ad to open. When it finally does open you have to sit through the actual ad and play the old "Hunt for the close button" game. Gonna have to find something else that moves a little more quickly.

Seems like a nice app, would even consider purchase, but charges annual fee instead of one time purchase. I really dislike annual fees, basically pay again every year. It also seems to go to google for dialing, etc. EDIT: In reply to Seller: I was talking about buying the app (which I had considered) but the annual fee is why I didn't give it a second thought. I liked what I saw until I went to look at purchasing and saw the "AnnuaL".

This App is insanely bad. If you want to be bombarded with ads, this app is for you. I read other complaints but thought I would download it and find out for myself. The others were right. It's very SPAMMY. I'm definitely removing this one.

The interface is nice and simple but it has so many ads. Premium costs $9.99/week. I wouldn't pay $9.99/month so $9.99/week is insane.

The main thing I need that the default contacts app doesn't provide is the ability to add contacts to my CardDav server (via OpenSync). This app delivers. It does everything I need it to do and nothing that I don't want it to do. The ability to change colours (in app and for the icon) is a nifty bonus that I wasn't expecting. By the time I found it, it was very clear that it's a free trial. I didn't feel tricked at all. The pro version isn't expensive and I'll certainly be upgrading.

I like its clean UI and an option to be asked for confirmation before dialing. But there are two issues need to be fixed. First, after I browsed for new contact picture it asked for an app to crop the picture then it failed. I have to use "open with" to change contact picture instead. Another issue I found was in call history. The caller numbers were shown instead of their names.

DO NOT INSTALL!!! First screen that came up when running the first time was a full screen ad for Temu. There was "x" in upper left corner and it opened Temu site, did not close the ad. Some advertisers are doing that, putting symbols that LOOK like they close the ad but take you to their site or app store. THAT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!!! But since it is legal, I'll just delete the app and NEVER BUY FROM TEMU! Won't buy from other advertisers that do that either.

When I first installed this app I didn't like it, but after a year of using it, I like it better than any other contact app I've tried. Its still not intuitive and still needs a help button. It took me a year to find the space character and parentheses when editing. It still doesn't identify itself as Simple Contacts . And I hope the developer reads this and finds out that the message he put on the Pro version about vcf files is not understandable and comes up every time I want to use the app.

I've never seen any app that throws more commercials in your face! they make the little X's on the commercials so small that you can't click them without going to the site. everything you do pops up. a commercial. $10 a year is not as bad as some but I'm not going to rent something that should be working fine in my phone! More commercials than any other!

[CURRENT UPDATE: [I HAD TO DO A FACTORY RESET. [Google wrote that they would get all of my apps back but they did not. They did not get Simple Contacts Pro back. I've lost all my contacts. There are other apps missing or malfunctioning, too. [Worst part was TEMU ad that I would X out of and then another would take its place. 😠 ] OUTDATED 5-STAR REVIEW. It is simple, it has no ads and no trackers. Check it out.

So far I'll give it 4 stars (just installed, may change after I give it some time). It has the one most essential feature any contacts app should have, but the default Google contacts app installed on my phone is missing: the ability to hide contacts without phone numbers. It's a basic feature, sure, but one Google failed to implement in theirs and completely dropped the ball on. This app has it, so I'm happy now. First time I've had to bother with getting a 3rd party contacts app though.

[New Update! 010126 Av16, A546U] I'm doing a rereview because I know for a fact some of my reviews can be pretty cold so because you did a good job on this app you do deserve a better review. I would like to suggest that you add a lifetime for people that don't feel comfortable paying a weekly fee. and since a few others have already done a lifetime subscription, I'm pretty sure if you're tired hard enough that you can put some features in there.. that would easily beat the other guy.

Imagine that you need to access your contacts quickly, even urgently, & you can't get access to them until you've watched an advert first. This is what you'll have to endure with this ridiculous app. Couldn't uninstall it fast enough. Vile exploitation.

edit: it no longer works. displays full page ads that automatically click on the ad.. it basically turned into spyware. Also it has been unsuccessfully saving contacts for a few weeks. I've saved the same number 3 times now.

Don't buy this app. I purchased the Simple Contacts app years ago and have used it since then. However it now requires me to search for contacts TWICE for EVERY phone call or message I send. That is VERY annoying. Also, the help button now goes nowhere - perhaps there's a new owner. All I know is the app WAS great.

It does what it should. I had problem with contacts, some were on SIM card, couldn't erase or modify some of them. With this program I managed to sort everything easy. Tried many others no luck. Sad thing is, I have old smartphone where I can manage contacts easy, with new one I have tried 5 other programs and spent quite some time to find what's wrong... Eh, progress a?

Application totally got bugged and removed all the contacts I saved through WhatsApp in the last two months . All of this happened after the first device restart I made probably in the whole year . Also there was no way to save contacts again, I thought I had to buy a new device, but uninstalled this app, and then I was able to add contacts again through Google contacts default app. That's why I blame this app for the first statement I made. Because after removing, all problems were gone.

Review is only for my memory, for later. Simple is good but this is too simple for my needs. Shows contacts from all Google accounts but does not show which account, and does not seem to have an option to select from which accounts to show contacts. also, color does not seem to be changeable, perpetually 1970s Halloween orange. Feels dated, limited.

Works like a charm. One caveat I hit: do not turn on the "show confirmation before making a call" before the app has had a chance to ask for phone permissions. It won't ask if that dialog is open and you might think (like me) that the dialer app was broken. Really quick response time here in the comments though which made me figure that out. Please fix the notification bug too. I almost just uninstalled it all instead of reviewing and getting it fixed.

Do not use unless the 14 day trial period gets removed. This app used to be totally free, and now it locks you out and deletes your contacts after 14 days, saying you need to upgrade to pro. Why would I need a 'pro' version for a digital address book?? Really disappointing. I'd give zero stars if I could.
