When ads were recently added, it delayed light activation, making it useless when I need the light right now. I'm looking for a new light app. EDIT: I understand the ads are only on the "free trial", but if you're going to offer people a chance to see what your app is all about before they pay (a frankly ridiculous amount) for it, they should at least get to see it work properly.

I used to love this flashlight. Used it over my phone's default since it seemed brighter and was easy to use. I always had the free plan and used it for years, no problem. Recently, it seems the app has changed to have more intrusive ads, so when I want to use the flashlight I have to wait for an ad to play out. Upgrading to premium for a /flashlight/ is $15/week. I would consider a one time payment since I enjoyed this, but this is way too expensive. Games are cheaper! What a shame.

Wish I can rate this lower. So it has ads, cool most apps these days do. Usually it's a one time fee of like 2.99 or like 6 bucks. How much do you think it would cost to get rid of ads in this app? Like .99 cents? It's just a simple flashlight right? We'll the devs didn't think so! It costs 60 dollars per month to remove ads. I could buy a 1st party video game for less than that, and that's only a one time purchase. You have to pay 14.99 per week to remove ads. That's absolutely wild.

Use this flashlight app all the time. I liked it so much more than my devices default flashlight because it's so much brighter. Now they've added pop-up ads and a long startup loading screen that makes the app almost useless when you need the light. Before with the free plan it was instant start up and no pop-up ads. And you can't even remove the ads unless you pay $15 A WEEK?! What an absolute joke. Time to find a new flashlight app...

The app takes way too long for an app where the main function is to turn on your phones flash to open (like why does it need that long to load it doesn't even do that much), and then immediately opens an ad(sometimes a timed ad that can take up to 30 seconds to close). Lately it just takes way too long to open it when I need it. Awful for emergencies. I fully understand having an ad for switching in between functions, you're going way too far by having one before you can even use the app.

Exactly what I needed. Got a new phone. Old Flashlight app wouldn't work. I use the red screen light outside looking through a telescope. (A white light kills night vision.) Regular LED light is nice and bright when needed. The SOS is a bonus. Maybe useful if I'm ever lost at sea. Lol. No insanely annoying pop-ups - which seems to be the overwhelming trend these days. Hoping there's a way to just pay for this wo ads (still have not seen any but nothing is free).

It was good, a little buggy, annoying you had to turn the flashlight on to dim it- but I still loved it. Then they put in ads. I'm not going to wait 5 or 30 seconds to turn on my fn flashlight. Uninstalled immediately. I'd be fine with little banner ads, I totally get it. But full screen VIDEO ads that you have to click away? Ridiculous. I can find an open source flashlight app that respects the people who use it, or just write one myself, or just copy the code I like from this app off GitHub.

Updated version has ads. Ads banner while the flashlight is in use is ok. Must click thru ads just to get to the flashlight control to turn it on or off. NOT ok. Uninstalled immediately. The premium version is expensive subscription, "many exciting new features" not simple, not useful. ------ original review ------ (5 stars) Just a simple flashlight. No annoying blink modes. No ads.

Fantastic app! I would give 5 stars if adding its widget to your screen was free. Developer, it'd be very helpful if the message ("This feature is... ...can refund you.") included the costs to purchase a "Simple Thank You". Since it clearly says it's a 1 time payment only, it may convince more users. It's less convenient if users first need to search what it costs, most people don't wanna do that (phone usage made us lazy, we wanna do things as fast as we can with minimal effort). That's why.

I wrote wot I did (below) wa-ayyy before the app went from free and ad-free to wot it appears to have become today. Good job I saved the APK file back then, I reckon. A simply great versatile flash-light app that has no ads, changeable colours - to both the reading light and the theme, as well as a strobe with options too. A definite must have app. Well done to the developer. If I could change anything, it would be the icon . . . but then it wouldn't be a 'Simple' app.

Best flashlight app ever! No ads, no bells and whistles. Thanks! *cough* Ok, that was back in 2021. Now in 2024 I have to correct myself. This app is unusable thanks to recently added advertising. Ads can be removed for lousy 10 bucks a WEEK! I could buy real flash lights each week for that amount of money. Sorry pal, no recommendation for your previously great apps any more. Let's face it: It's just an on/off switch - not worth over 500 bucks a year!

all phones have a flashlight in the pulldown so for free I can turn on the flashlight in 2 touches. the good flashlight app I used to have just turned on immediately when you clicked on the app without opening screens, panhandling, or shoveling ads down my throat before giving me a light. any flashlight app that opens is a fail in my book.

It works as intended but the ads are awful and infuriating. I just want to use the app quick and be able to simply use the flashlight but the excessive ads make it difficult. Not only are the advertisements excessive, but they're incredibly intrusive and annoying to get rid of. Uninstalling immediately, and I don't recommend anyone using this trash.

SCAM!!! Poses as a small friendly app, but trying to get you subscribe for $14!!!! A WEEK!!! That's more than Netflix and what did does it do?I have just uninstall it, since I was looking for my glasses in the dark, so I wanna have a light, but it gave me super dumb commercial instead after long wait to load up, and then it was hard to get rid of the add without the glasses, so it was just useless waste of time. I understand you want to make $$$, but think how to make it user friendly, no?Shame!

An app name that says exactly what it is, and it's exactly what I needed and wanted: It's a simple flashlight, it can be set to turn on when you open the app, and *no ads* (it's almost comical how many flashlight apps I had to scroll past until I found one with no ads). 10/10, will buy a "thank you" when I can.

I got this app because samsung doesn't allow flashlight use at 5% battery (I pray I'm never in an emergency, thanks samsung). I also didn't want to go to the "big guys" with millions of downloads, wanted to go a different route and support another company. I have to say, this app is the best one! It is so simple and easy to use, cool features, and gets the job done. Download this!

I don't know what happened to this and some of your other apps. It feels like you sold the company to someone who started adding crapware to the apps (Light and Messages). I will keep them all at the version they are now. My firewall had MANY connection attempts (all blocked) and would light up (Flashlight app). Why did you do this? Why does the Flashlight need to contact Google, Cloudflare and others? Terrible behavior on the updated versions. EDIT:did the company change ownershipl/management?

Great app and widgets for easy access to the phones flashlight. Or you can use the phone screen as a bit dimmer light at night. The added functionality of screen color change and SOS signal for the flashlight is a nice touch. It would be great addition if there is some shortcut to start the flash via buttons or gestures (like the double-chop gesture on Moto phones).

Downgraded from 5 stars to 3 stars. Finally downgraded to 1 star. Been great for years, but something about the app recently changed. Now it has a long loading screen. Very annoying when you need a flashlight now. I talked to customer support, and they tried. After that, the app wont even load if you dont have data. This confirms my suspicion that this app is constantly sending data from my phone to . . somewhere. Simple, I thought you were better than that. I will be deleting this app.

Excellent! All three options (flashlight, bright display and stroboscope) at my fingertips, finally. Makes it easy to alter and combine. Love the option to change the colour of the bright display. That proved to be a very useful addition that came in handy for all kinds of scenarios, like manipulation of light in photography (warm/cold), or choosing complementary paint colours. Brilliant!
