I really like it overall. I feel I am learning very quickly, albeit I already read music and play other instruments. One thing about it drives me crazy though. In lessons if I hesitate/stop to think for a bit, it almost immediately highlights the next note. I really wish there was a way to turn that off. Also. there doesn't seem to be a way to rewind songs.

it was cool...at first. But someone who has an individual subscription cannot finish lesson #1. The final section in lesson #1 is unavailable unless you upgrade to a Family subscription. Even if you are just one person. So, be aware if you are just an individual wanting to learn piano, they force you to sign up for the more expensive family plan to access all content.

I was having a pretty good time with the app till it hit me with that subscription and the free trial us only a week. I feel like there should be a free version without extra songs or choice but just a learning way. Plus a 120 dollars a year for a piano app is insane and they even have a 20 dollar a month option. The cash grabbing is insane.

Ive been using the app for a few weeks now and im absolutely loving it. I have messed around with piano and guitar for a few years, just learning songs by memorizing chords. Within just a few weeks, im making real progress. Most of the bad reviews are just people complaining that there is a subscription. It is absolutely worth the $30. Also anyone complaining about chord recognition is being lazy. If its really a problem, just use a MIDI cable, or even just headphones in a quiet space.

I like this app if it was free, I started got my first things done but I couldn't complete the lesson cause you have to pay to have songs so now I was stuck and only could do 5 minute lessons!! It made me sad. If you want to pay for 18 or more dollars a month this app has great potential but for mea I'm not doing that sooo. PS: You have to be in a quiet area or it will count noises as your notes even though you didn't play it yet.

not bad for getting started on music reading basics, but after a while it just keeps throwing finger numbers and easy visuals to tell you exactly which key to play. I actually want to learn the notes themselves. Give more notes, not pictures and numbers. This app just gets you through a bunch of practices by holding your hand, it plays itself. You can quickly go through a lot of content, but the way it teaches you will still leave you having to remember how to play off a sheet music on your own.

This is nice...if only you didn't have to use a subscription! $35.00 a month!? Who wants to do that!? Yeah I was disappointed to be able to go through the Piano Basic and be able to move up...only to see that I have to pay a stupid amount per month! No, I aint doing that! So definitely bring the price down or maybe make it free for once so we can actually enjoy something for one!

It's fun and kind of like a piano Duolingo that's more immersive. The problem is that there is a huge paywall. You only learn 5 keys before having to pay $25 a month to unlock "over 7000 songs" and the ability to continue the courses. You can't even complete the first course because it ends at 90% needing you to buy premium access. I won't be buying the premium access and think the price is way too much. I recommend people to put down 15 minutes of their time and try the free version.

I've been using the app for a week and am learning a lot. I like the variety of songs and the lesson scaffolding to more challenging concepts. Two things I wish were different 1. The way the fingers are numbered. My brain wants both hands numbered low-high/left-right, not both thumbs are #1. Confusing! 2. Why can't I go back 1 or 2 measures instead of starting the whole song over?? I will make it like 7 bars in before making a mistake, but I can't just practice the tricky part!?!

Really great and easy to use. The only reasons people give it a negative review is because they don't want to pay $45 for 3 months, which is cheaper than a piano tutor. Great for getting the essentials if you're a begginer. However, I am having a terrible time in later lessons because of sound recognition issues. Certain chords when played close together get mixed up to the app, making you go into practice mode 3 times for the same part of them session when you did not make a mistake. I would like to pay less for 3 months just because of that problem, since the frustration of those reacuring problems would make me quit for up to a week. The idea itself is great and worth the price if it ran perfectly, but the sound recognition really gets in the way of learning sheet music.

I liked the features at first. It picked up sound well and it was easy to follow, which I appreciated. I just seriously dislike that after the small first section, you have to pay for Premium to do ANYTHING else. You get to choose a song to have learned by the end of the little beginner section, but as soon as I got there, it told me I had to sign up. I understand and recognize that you need money to maintain an app, but it sucks that there isn't even a Free w/ ads option.

It has lots of content, both for step-by-step learning and also playing a huge variety of songs at different levels. I like how it can keep track of whether you have played the correct notes, and it's fun to be able to earn stars for playing songs. I wish it tracked time practiced, that it had tie ins to method books, that the stars had more significance and that it has a monthly billing option (currently three months is the lowest I could find). I love it as a practice aid and use it a lot!

When I first downloaded the app, I completed the free lesson and decided that I wanted to purchase a yearly subscription. When the app prompted that I subscribe, (in order to begin the second lesson) the app said that the yearly subscription price was $6.00. Don't get me wrong the app is great for learning to play the piano, but when I looked at the charges on my debit card, I found out that i had been charged $71.99!

I play the correct keys but it just won't register. It doesn't teach when you play the keys. At the end start or the middle of when the line comes across the quarter note? Also, at least give us ads to continue and not have to pay. Youcision is way better with it allowing us to continue the lesson but you have the option to pay if you want to play without any limited time a day. Uninstalling and just sticking to playing by ear. Which is honestly a lot better.

I want to like it, I really do. I like how it displays notes and teaches you to read them. But it just does not register the notes that are being played, even when directly next to the keyboard speaker, making it difficult and frustrating to progress even on basic lessons. Fortunately I tried the free trial, because it's not worth paying anything for.

Not great unless you already know how to read music. This teaches you to play by finger numbers, and minimal notes. Once you attempt to move on from the basic notes it's just confusing. If you miss notes, it starts a metronome....if you don't know what the heck note you're missing and aiming for, a metronome is useless. The first 3 weeks were great, after that just plain frustrating.

The price is ridiculous. Pay a piano teacher to help you reach your goals. This isn't it. Used the free trial to brush up on my music reading since it's been about 15 years since I played a piano. Wow, this is bad. I have a good keyboard with the mic right next to the speaker and the app doesn't always register notes or will register notes I didn't play. Once I dredged through basics enough to unlock sheet music for songs I get... a single line of a song. Play along feature is a joke.

Update: I initially gave this app 5 stars because I found the free lessons helpful. After 10 minutes of lessons, I was prompted to review it. After I did, there was no free content left. So plan on paying for it if you're serious. I've no idea how they handle adding the second hand in the lessons. I literally learned and practiced 5 notes. Also, the only way to pay for it is through PayPal, and I don't have a PayPal account. I would prefer being able to pay with Samsung Pay.

Horrible app. Do not bother. It's fine for the first week, then when everything starts getting faster, you can't keep up, and when you eventually start playing faster, it doesn't pick up the notes and gives false scores, and the app doesn't let you slow the tempo down. This doesn't apply to the songs, only to the lessons, however the lessons are the most important part. Do not waste your money.

The app would be fine if their subscription system wasn't so blatantly scummy. You need the subscription for more than the first 5 notes, and you can get a 7 day free trial but only for the whole year subscription, so if you forget to cancel your trial you're going to be out like $200. Lowest amount of time you can get is 3 months for an unreasonable amount of money. I don't want to give them any money because of this, regardless of the quality of the app itself.
