Paid a week's subscription to use this app with a karaoke machine in a rental. The app is good, though it can be hard to get a handle on the search options, and queueing up a playlist is more difficult than it needs to be (you can't sort, it locks in the order you add and if you add twice, oh well). Recommend that you Favorite particular songs in advance, and use the genre search if you don't have ideas. Tips: Change the settings (...) for readability. Use Lead Voice if you don't know the song!
You don't need this app to have songs with lyrics play through your karaoke machine. Just pair your device up with your machine through Bluetooth and Google search the song title and be sure to add "with lyrics". It's free and almost every song is on there. I already spent enough money on this karaoke machine, I don't need to be nickel and dimed to pay for the app, too.
App doesn't do the basic functions it says. Casting works less than half the time, when it works great on any other app between the same two devices. BT connection randomly drops and won't automatically reconnect. Overall, a very poor experience, especially considering the price paid and the outrageous expectation of $14.99 each month. If you are going to charge a premium, have a product that actually works.
The "subscription" price is insane. I understand there are royalties involved, but the machines etc are designed for kids. Not real karaoke. The selection available is very...vanilla and cookie cutter. The 5 "free" songs they have to offer are not great. 30 second samples without a subscription for songs you actually wat. Quite disappointing. If it was more affordable I'd get it for the kids, but not at the price it is.
Machine is great ... This review is for the app.... As others have said, 'with lyrics' videos can be found on YouTube and elsewhere. I did look into their catalog, cuz I would prefer instrumentals versions, but their selection is SPARSE. luckily 'instrumental' versions can be found on music streaming apps such as Spotify. And of course lyrics aren't hard to Google. But no bouncing ball...
I bought the machine thinking it could be used right out of the box. You have to have special dvd's or buy their app, for $14.99 a month, which of course auto renews. I decided the app wasn't worth it within a few hours. The songs are not by the original artist so i found it difficult to sing to them. They don't sound the same. Now Im wondering if I cancel to prevent the auto renew, do I lose the rest of the month?
very disappointed.Me and my niece were testing out the app for the first time and she wanted to try a song from frozen. i clicked on the song and it was a 30 sec 'sample'.. i tried multiple songs to see if any were free.YOU HAVE TO PAY MONEY, i wouldn't be mad if it were a reasonable price but no .. its very expensive. Welp .. i guess me and my niece will improvise. The machine itself is very cool. but they definitely need to change the app. Very many people aren't so happy.
Complete waste of time if you plan on using with a Singing Machine Karaoke System because the machine is so cheaply made you wont be able to use it more than once. Plus the price is outrageous $14.99 a month for a very small amount of music and song choices. Save your self the hassle and just look up Karaoke Music on YouTube for free and choose any song you want? You're welcome! Thank you for reading!
installed app, could do anything, so i had to go to website to purchase songs. app doesn't sync up with website, making app completely useless. registered on both with same Facebook account but it treated then like 2 separate accounts. plus when using the Bluetooth you can not get lyrics on the screen and can't connect phone to usb to display lyrics either. almost a good product but it missed the mark on what users want. don't buy. returning it.
Hey stingray maybe notice that everyone is giving you one star for the atrocious prices you have for your subscription. Mine included. Not to mention I've seen your response. Don't give that BS. You made an overpriced app for a simple machine. You cant even put a decent amount of free songs on there. I couldn't even find a free song button to go and enjoy a small sample of songs. As everyone has suggested, going to find some free music on YouTube.
More than $14 a week? No way! Download the app and get to play 5 meh songs the rest of the songs you will be able to play a 30 seconds sample 😅 or you can pay extremely expensive subscription that according to other reviews will not ensure a great experience. Nope, not for me I will stick with my other apps to play music in the karaoke machine. This is a no go. Don't waste your time and hard earned money with this app.
Beyond disappointed..... We bought the Groove mini and it's just a glorified boom box! You can Bluetooth music but not lyrics and you can use an aux cord but you still won't get lyrics. What's the point? I can use a karaoke app on my phone and Bluetooth speaker without a cheap feeling, disco light box. Don't waste your money! Spend a little extra and get a real karaoke machine.
Terrible app. the machine itself is fine but you have to pay for a subscription for songs is an absolute rip off when you can get them on you tube for free, plus the app won't even connect so is absolutely pointless!
Dont bother. This app uses 30 sec clips from a restricted song list. The machine is a (actually very good) bluetooth amplifier. You'd do better to find the thousands of full length karaoke songs with lyrics on YouTube, all for free. The full version of this app will cost nearly £15 per month. It's a complete rip off. In my view, Stingray should not be in business. The number of poor reviews should teach them that they are profiteering and that they need to review their business model.
I ordered this from Costco for a fair price, I didn't know it needed a subscription. I got it for my 8 year old daughter. After I bought it, I set it up and was slammed wits a $15/month subscription. No way I'm paying that much for it to sit in the corner collecting dust. My daughter is only here every other week, so it will go unused for half the subscription time. It should come with free songs, with the option to pay for more. Subscriptions absolutely suck, we already 0ay for too many of them
I bought karaoke machine in Costco for Christmas but it was nowhere mentioned that I need a crazy overpriced subscription model to run this machine. Thankfully Costco has a considerate return policy. I tested the app itself and didn't like it too much. I don't see why anyone would pay for this. There are a ton of nicely animated karaoke YouTube videos with lyrics you can use for free with the karaoke machine if you use the Bluetooth mode. The app isnt really needed for anything other then setup
This app is unnecessarily good. The ability to cast and queue songs from such a diverse catalogue cannot be understated. There are songs available that I didn't think anyone else new of. That in mind, I have one major critique inhibiting 5 stars. $10 per week for a subscription is high, meaning it pretty much forces you to the ~$80 annually or the lackluster free version.
I dislike the system, it's very limited, it's for children. Not many songs at all! Very disappointing.
Got the device, didnt even bother with the 5 free songs and got the weekly 10$ subscription so the kids could pick whatever they wanted (WHICH WAS A VERY LIMITED SELECTION, but did have some good and recent choices) and couldnt even play a single song (by bluetooth on multiple devices) without constant lag/refresh (on a 200Mbps connection) making it completely pointless. We wound up using cd's and youtube for music selection. A refund of the subscription cost would be appreciated, thank you!
This app was fine until this most recent update. now when I try to cast to my TV like before everything just goes unresponsive. Please fix it.
