If I could give no stars I would! 😡 Im switching providers as soon as i can. Not cheap either when i have to continualy pay 4 data binges! I brought my phone number over from Vodafone and many people have not been able to txt or phone me (they get a message that my phone numbr is disconnected!) Ive missed out on work opportunities and put in scary positions when I haven't been able to be contacted in emergencies! Rang Skinny several times and was told problem was fixed.. its not😡 Skinny sucks!
Open the app, "no network available" unusable app. I'll be sticking to the website thanks (reinstalled, deleted cache and data, tried other things) turns out I need to disable my vpn to make the app functional, no thanks... competitive data plans though! probably because my info is being scraped from the application.
terrible app and website, that don't push through online top ups etc. We can only top up via vouchers, which is really irritating when not near a store. We also set the fee to auto repeat but it hasn't worked. Get it together skinny please 🙏
Beware the hidden top-up trap – lost $70 in minutes! I just topped up $70 today and immediately renewed my plan through the app, or so I thought. Within a short time, my entire credit was gone – charged at exorbitant "standard/casual rates" because apparently the plan didn't activate instantly or there was some glitch in the process. Skinny's support (Kim and Rey) refused to refund or fix it, saying the charges are "valid" and it's my fault for not turning off mobile data before top
Got fixed. Old review: All notifications since March 2022 have disappeared, and I'm getting "new" notifications for historic events back in March 2022. Not very helpful in Sept 2022. Same for app family members' phones too... so isn't just my account. Can someone fix this please!
I'm considering changing providers or contacting the ombudsman. Roaming minutes didn't work despite me having a phone that supports them in Australia. Not a company I would recommend
Easy to use and never had issues with connection. Love Skinny and highly recommend.
Support takes days to reply and when the app errors and says contact support you call support and they say instead of calling just use the app (even tho the app doesn't work and says contact support). Skinny has really gone downhill and like most other providers, replaced quality human support with robots and automated voices.
if for some reason, your payment method fails, you just get cut off half way through what you're doing. no warning either. no way to get a new card added with having internet access. I was forced to use a public network to add my other card, very unsafe these days!! this app should not need your plans to be active, to get in and top up. this is my only complaint to skinny. my auto payment was due today, also the day my card gets randomly blocked by the bank
I often have to fill in forms blindly, because the keyboard hides the form, and the page can't be scrolled to move the location of the form. this is frustrating when trying to enter card details to top up
I wish I had read the reviews before attempting to top up. In this day and age apps should be able to do a basic function like top up an account. I tried multiple times, but thankfully it didnt charge my account like it did to others! Don't believe the 4 stars, the app sucks.
I genuinely dislike skinny. In fact, I'm about to move on to a 2-degree plan. I decided to switch because these plans are really expensive considering the limited data (4GB) and lack of unlimited calls. Every other cell phone company offers better plans at similar prices.
App is broken and will not accept any credit card payments at all from multiple cards. Customer service gave up after account reset didn't work. Unfortunate as I've been a customer for years.
A real pain to use. Hides fields when keyboard appears & will not accept input.
Brilliant provider, great app to keep it under control! Thank you.
Initially I had issues logging in a few years ago but now the app has improved. So much easier to login, top up, and even send credit to others. I find the different deals affordable and flexible if things need changing. Keep it up skinnh
You need to have a wider range of banks available for the online EFTPOS as my bank isn't one of them. Unlike the jump app this app and website do work!!! The online AI bot doesn't really do much
Buggy piece of junk. Unreliable, often can't top up with card, or top-ups don't display, or it crashes during topping up, leading you to be unsure if it charged you without checking my bank balance. This has caused me to be charged twice on one occasion. Very close to switching back to previous provider simply because of this apps performance. I switched to skinny because of data binge, but I think I'll get a dedicated sim just for data binge and switch to another provider for usual use.
Every time I top up I get an error message. After a year of complaints I've realised Skinny doesn't care and won't fix the gliche. it does top up it just doesn't show. I learned that after the first 2 times when I tried again as per the error message and ended up with a large credit as bank records proved they had all gone through. Customer services are oblivious when advised and sound bored. I suppose you get what you pay for with a budget service.
terrible coverage, if your travelling NZ, do not use this company, when I have people using other companies in the car, they get coverage, I don't. It's so and the coverage. Also, after you have used your high speed data and go onto the standard data, it's so slow. The plans are for 28 days not a month like and other company and they put their prices up a while ago just for the sake of it. I'm not in NZ much longer otherwise I'd change, but appalling for coverage, speed of data and a rip off.
