Pretty good! No ads (which is so rare these days) and it does track my sleep! I don't know how it does the sleep cycles, but even tracking the times which I sleep at has let me know I always go to bed too late. Sadly, there is a premium version, even if they have to pay the bills, so I can't give 5 stars, at least until I've experienced all that has to offer. But that's a ways off, given the price (though it is a one time purchase, again so rare these days!)
I've been using Sleep as Android for over a decade now. No other alarm app comes close. As a heavy sleeper, the CAPTCHA options to turn off an alarm are invaluable. Mine is set up so I have to scan an NFC tag in my bathroom before I can dismiss an alarm, forcing me to get out of bed. Otherwise I can dismiss an alarm and never even remember. Love this app!
Great and full featured app. I've been a long time user and got it initially for basic sleep tracking, but through the years the devs really packed in lots more features. My favorite is the radio station alarm, it's always a different song and the songs seem really effective at getting me awake. The sleep tracking is also quite detailed, and the snoring and sleep talk tracker have been really useful in trying to improve my sleep quality. Highly recommended! Edit: still going strong in 2025
Miraculous! I actually get out of bed. This alarm system is stimulating enough that it gives my rational-self time to make a stand against the idea that staying in bed is the best thing for me to do. The "captcha" options are abundant, including math, zombie walk, bar code scanning, and so many more - with different difficulty levels! There's not enough room to brag, and I'm on the FREE version! A big thank you to the developer. If I don't become tolerant, I'll feel guilty if I don't buy it.
I've been using this app for a number of years and i love it. i've watched it evolve and grow, always an improvement. i will say though, having a smartwatch or fitness tracker to connect to it is ideal. i find it has a hard time with using just my phone next to my pillow, after my second smartwatch broke. theres a lot of useful feedback you get from your sleep data in charts summaries. the "lullabys" have a decent variety of sounds to fall asleep, theres an add on for more options.
Best app for sleep sounds, sleep tracking, and easier wake ups I've ever found. The paywall is kinda annoying as it seems the app only functions at full capacity(so the way it's advertised) every other night. Meaning unless you pay the price you cannot rely on it every night. However, you can purchase a lifetime subscription, and with all of the updates they have to make to work with the different OS and software updates, the price is well worth it for a subscription or the lifetime plan.
Until a few days ago, this was my favorite alarm app with captchas that would reliably get me up out of bed. However, a few days prior to writing this review, this app started showing me full screen ads. I get the dev needs money, and if they want to incorporate banner ads, fine. But I draw the line at full screen ads. Last thing I need to see when I wake up is having a full screen video ad shoved down my throat. If this is the new norm for this app, then I will find a new alarm app.
a very effective app with good choices for alarm sounds. i love that it starts softly then gets vety loud. Due to a snoring husband, i must wear earplugs! If i am not in a deep sleep, i can catch it at a lower volume, otherwise I NEED the loud sound. The app navigation is not intuitive when trying to get the stats. i have a paid subscription. I have to use a second app to get better stats; like snoring. Watch app doesn't get snoring, no sync w/ phone!!!
middle of the line app, mostly because it's to confusing to read the data. the user manual is ok but i have to access it from inside the app making it hard to view the squiggly lines and read about them at the same time. 3 day trials aren't anywhere near enough time to even get this thing set up to work with my GWU and my S24FE phone. all the research I had to do took all 3 days and then some.
theres no way to really see you sleep on the free plan. the app was incredibly bad about understanding when I went to sleep, and would try to say I'm asleep every couple hours when I was still at my keyboard working hard. it gave me no information about when it would trigger the alarm, just sometime before it needed to, with no information. app did not help me get a better model of my sleep, just did things. uninstalled.
The best sleep tracking app on the Play Store. It has no comparable apps, as all other fall short. This app gives you so many different options s and ways to track your sleep, plus check heart rate during sleep with most wearables and just has alot of uslefull stats and features you can't find in any other sleeptrackimg app definitely find the subscription worth it just wish they didn't raise there prices. Still, the app does offer alot so I can see why they did. Plus, they keep it updated.
all I had to do was click dismiss, and the challenge I was supposed to have to do never timed out. It just stayed on the screen for hours as I slept in. My alarm never started playing again, and it seems it even caused my other alarms to not play. I recommend an app called "Alarmy" Instead because that one at least actually works.
Overall, this is a pretty good app! However, here are a few things i realized 1. Make sure sleep tracking is running in order for the optimal wake up phase alarm to work 2. Make sure to set a notification sound for a wake-up check in system settings.. 3. There aren't that many alarm options that come with it, but you can use any sound you have on your device. I haven't used sleep tracking yet. Thank you to the one who gave me this info
This app has gone downhill. I have used it for over a decade. Then came the pay walls inside the app. Then the stupid ads when you turn off your alarm. Then alarms started going off without any kind of notification showing up to easily open the app to turn off the alarm. Finally, this morning, my phone went off and I couldn't turn off the alarm. The app didn't even show one being active. I had to uninstall after rebooting didn't work. All sleep data from 10 years, gone.
Neat app, works well, but ultimately just another subscription service to pile on top of all the others. All the charts are hidden unless you pay. At that point, it's just a glorified alarm clock. Might as well just stick with the Samsung Health, which does not have a subscription fee.
A really great and surprising sleep app. For tracking, sleep sounds, lots of graphs/charts etc, tons of add ons from connecting to Google health apps to having to solve a captcha or math to make sure you're really awake. I believe the free version is totally fine but the premium even at yearly price is very affordable compared to other sleep apps.
App is amazing has almost every feature you could ever want. I would add more compatibility to different smart lights and smart switches too. I saw that they are adding google home soon which is great! The beta version unfortunately keeps giving me an error when I try to give it permission to access Google home. But it might just be that I wasn't able to get into the beta program
I've used this app for a few years now, and it has everything I need: smart wakeup options, various alarm tones, the ability to set and save way too many alarms throughout the week, etc. And it continually evolved throughout the years, getting better with each update! It's the only alarm app I use anymore.
Long time user of paid app. The UX has become really bloated and unintuitive. It's as if showing cute icons and graphs has become priority over surfacing useful data. If I want to see how many hours I slept yesterday how can I do that? Adding or deleting sleeping hours seems like it's possible but, how? I think the app is being killed by Android at night, even though I have adjusted all of the recommended settings. Because I'm ending up with two or three separated sleep records each night.
Gentle alarm doesn't work, I'm immediately woken up by the most jarring, deafening music I've ever heard, without being able to turn the volume down at all. I genuinely didn't even know my phone could BE that loud. I got this app thinking I would be woken up nicely without waking up anyone else, but instead I got something that will cause us all hearing loss. Also the watch and phone alarms go off separately, meaning I have to turn them off TWICE. Would give 0 if possible. I'd like a refund.
