Sleep Jar - Sounds and Stories

My favorite sleep app so far. My only request to make it 5 stars is that it doesn't have a way to control it from the pull-down notifications area like you can for almost all other audio apps like Spotify, audio players like Pulsar, podcast apps like Pocket Casts, etc. For instance, if I want to pause or restart the sound, I have to open the app proper, instead of having a handy notification area control to do so.

I had the free version of this app. The app itself works very well. My favorite sound was the ocean rolling and the waves breaking along the shoreline. However, I have tinnitus and right now, it seems to be quite loud, at about the 90 decibel level, and the ringing over comes the pleasant sounds that the app provides. So while it did not work for me, it doesn't mean it won't work for someone else. G ive it a try!

It's a great app, really, and I've been sleeping so much better since! I love all the stories, and different sounds that there are to experience, but I have just one teeeeeeny tiny problem. UNLOCK MORE THINGS! I can't pay because I'm not allowed to, so there's only so many new things you can listen to. If there were a few more stories that were unlocked, this would have been a 5 star rating. And personally, I've always wanted to listen to "A visit to cost cove" but it's locked! What a surprise!

Edit: after multiple attempts it finally allowed me into the app.. hopefully the rest works better. can't get past the login page! it says if you don't have an account you can create one on the next page but the only option it to enter a password or forgot password... there is no way to create an account...

This is worth every penny it's just brilliant and so customizable and simple to use, I do have a few favourite sound's to get me off to sleep and they work incredibly well, is also good that you can set it to play or stop when you wish i just tell Alexa to play for 1 hour and I'm in noddy land and the story's I've never got half way through without falling asleep a very relaxing voice, by far the best. P's there customer service are excellent.

I really love this app, and the organ is like my favorite relaxing music for sleep, is there any way that you as a company can allow the app to play the sounds as the individual to play youtube videos? As I wanted to add the sounds whilst listening to asmr. If this can happen, I appreciate it and thank you for your service to our minds as we need calming to our daily lives. Great app. I've been using Sleep Jar every single night for a few years now. I love to listen to Brown noise to help me sleep. It drowns out other noises (TV, people talking, snoring, etc.) so I can sleep. I appreciate the other sounds too. I love that there are no ads to startle me awake. Highly recommend!

I liked this app, but I continued to experience increasing problems with it, and halfway through my annual subscription the content other than sounds are no longer working at all. I was never able to use offline content at all, which was my primary reason for paying for the subscription.

started out constantly. nagging me sign up for premium then kept limiting everything I would use to a certain amount of uses and today told me if I kept using it it was going to start automatically charging me. I was using it linked with Alexa. regardless of what you think, this was the behavior for the free sounds every time I would open one that I use regularly

I've been using Sleep Jar for a long time now, and I love it. I put my sleep mask headphones on and play a story or meditation, and it helps me sleep. It even helps me nap when I'm sick. The stories are lovely, the number of sounds to listen to are vast (it's one of the few rain sounds that I don't hear the repeat), and I find Amy's voice very soothing.

I appreciate the devs unlocking sounds for early adopters of the app and I look forward to the casting functionality. Please consider a one time purchase to unlock a premium sound as an alternative as well. I want to support but I only use 1 of 101 sounds. Maybe a 'support the dev' option that's not recurring?

I love this app! I love that you can turn you phone off and it still plays. I love you can a timer on it but most stories are shorter than my time. My only issue is how much is locked. I get they have to make money tho. The free options are ok otherwise.

I use it through Alexa and have for years. I did at one point purchase premium but I don't know where it went. There are so many features included on the free version though that I'm completely happy. Thunderstorm Sounds is my favorite.

Love these stories/ meditation series daily. I have a life subscription to Calm but there's something about sleep jar thats different. Simple, easy to use, you get to add sound background to any story, very nice. I look forward to using this app daily. On my hikes, long trips, at work, good stuff all around. Love it!

Love this app for listening to "white noise" to help me fall asleep. There are many different natural sounds to choose from. Rain, thunder storm, ocean waves, a babbling brook... and much more. Highly recommend!

I actually quite like this app. however, it basically forced me to rate it every time I tried to use it which I find really annoying. Decided on 2 stars because I like it... though it was close to 1 star for forcing me to rate. Automatic 3 star penalty for forcing me to rate

Awesome app if you have problems sleeping get this app. / I had very very bad sleep schedules now I am not staying up to 4:00 in the morning to go to sleep. / Lots of sounds if you like box fan noise or airplanes this might have what you need. / (Good night)-(It's 4:00 in the morning when I made this comment)

Seems to be a wonderful App, but I haven't tried running a loop all night yet. No problems downloading to android! Will update again later, to see how it runs. ($20yr premium is not a bad price for all choices either, just sayin).

sleep jar PLEASE change the "highway" sound, your app wants me to use an amazon Alexa app, but I don't have a Alexa! this makes it very frustrating, and if you do change it, please don't make it premium only, I just want the one sound...

Every night I listen to a story or a journey with a background sound. I also set a sleep timer so the sound turns off. I almost never finish a whole story even though I deeply enjoy them.
