More complicated than it needs to be. Channels that are "included" with a package are inaccessible, like some cruel tease. There are constantly errors on the website when trying to manage your account, and messages that just say, "Unable to process, please try again later." And again, the channel you want to watch is likely not available for some stupid reason. Had this app on and off for years. I will cancel my subscription and never, EVER subscribe again. Absolute trash.
I chose Sling as an alternative to cable, but have had plenty of issues with it. At first the problems could be solved by calling customer service, but now that they have disconnected ALL phone numbers, any problem is just a problem for as long as they want it to be. When I tried their 'chat' option, it either isn't working or is unresponsive. I don't suggest subscribing, but not sure what other options there are.
Sling is the worst streaming app that's not free. Actually, it's worse than the free apps I use. I've tried it out 4 times over 7 years. It's still as garbage as it was the first time I tried it in 2018. It's never not glitching. It displays the wrong times, channels, programs, and it won't play a DVR recording from the beginning if it's currently recording. Absolute trash streaming app that they aren't going to fix or they would have done it in the past 7 years.
Works most of the time, cuts off, freezes at times. Got kicked off a football game about 3 minutes before the end of the 4th, then which it took me back to the 3rd quarter, which I already watched. I only paid for a one day pass, but still, it was oaid in full, I should have been able to watch the whole game. When they say sling, it slings ya where ever it wants to. Please fix your issues. Not worth the money at all.
It started off fine, which was deceptive because now it's one problem after another. I've experienced many of the difficulties others have described, including the inability to cast certain networks to my chromecast devices. Doesn't matter whether it's from my phone or tablet. Doesn't matter which TV (or chromecast). Deleting the app and reinstalling it doesn't help. I'm on the verge of canceling my Sling account. This is just ridiculous. Sling "help" is no help at all.
Nothing on this app is working! What a ripoff. Im trying to watch the MLB playoffs, but nothing on the app works! No issues with my wifi or anything else. this is ridiculous. Cant use their chat bot for customer support. Isn't working. called customer support and they were no help. Fix your stuff. Haven't been able to watch anything for over an hour now
accidentally purchased a monthly subscription which was a promotional discount. I intended to purchase a day pass to watch one thing, which I absolutely love that they offer a day pass! I asked for a refund and was denied. I was told since it was pre-paid, it wasn't possible for a refund. What does that matter? I was actually contemplating using the Sling service because YouTube tv and Disney (ESPN) could not reach an agreement.

Absolute Garbage. When I downloaded the app and opened it up the first time it worked just fine until I got to the sign up page. I tried to sign up but it wouldn't loaf even with perfect wifi. Then I tired on the website and that didn't work. So I tried one more time on the app but when I opened it it just crashed and closed out. So I deleted it and reinstalled it but it did the same thing. DONT DOWNLOAD THIS APP!! IT SUCKS!!
We have been Sling members for 3 years. Every year the cost has gone up and now this year they are blacking out more games, games they say are part of our subscription, but then when you click to watch they are blacked out. We were paying for the Orange plan, $46, plus sports extra, $11 which was supposed to include the NHL network and it does not as most games are blacked out that shouldn't be. Sling has started to scam it's customers. Do not buy Sling if you're looking for an NHL app.
I've never had so many issues with a streaming service. It's not worth the price. When I open the app, it immediately closes or crashes. It constantly stops playing all together, it keeps giving me errors trying to set DVR schedules and then doesn't show anything that was recorded. I've un-installed, cleared cache, and every other thing, short of just canceling. I paid for this to get Oxygen and I can't watch it! Back to Philo where it's cheap but literally works like a dream.
Although Sling is a great value, this is probably one on the worst mobile streaming apps I've ever used. When device powers down and resumes, video does not start up again. You have to go back to the guide and relaunch the channel. When the player is windowed, the device does not stay awake. You can't just listen to audio in the background. All of these features are expected for a modern streaming app and are missing.
Terrible. Upon opening the app and selecting the "Free Stream" option on the opening page, the app goes into terminal loading lock where you can't do anything at all. I refuse to give up my cc# info and pay for a service that is advertised as a "free" streaming service. I really should have read other reviews first and I would not have bothered downloading this waste of my time and space on my phone. Deleting it now. I'll be spending my viewing time on applications that work as advertised.
I signed up for sling through Roku, but the Roku app shows no sign of my account. I try to go to the sling account who says my address isn't right. You get what you pay for, I guess by getting cheap TV I have to be subject to zero customer service, just robots, confusion, incorrect information. But boy sling can always charge my card!!! Never a problem there. When I finally figured out how to put this on pause, I may just cancel and not come back this is a nightmare.
Sling's apps all such. The mobile one is no different. The app continually freezes when cutting to commercials, and causes me to have to force stop it on my Android device. On my computer, commercials will cut off parts of the show, and even other commercials. I am a software developer, and there is no excuse whatsoever for how crappy Sling's apps are. Don't pay for this service, at least until they can figure out how to deliver the service they are charging you for.
I have been a customer off and on for years. I subscribe when I need it. Never had a problem before now. Canceled service after football season was over and got through all the same prompts as usual. This is NOT the first time I've gone through this process. I know how it works. I got the confirmation screen online and assumed all was well. A week later I see a charge to my bank account. I immediately called in only to be told you can re-cancel service but you can't refund. DON' T trust!!
Liked the app at first. Besides the fact it costs $45/ month, I'm forced to watch ads over and over again. Other streaming apps for a fraction of the price don't force ads on you. Also, this app doesn't work properly. I've got free apps that buffer less and this app doesn't play the whole movie anymore. Cuts out while trying to shove ads in and out. Than makes you start over. Don't waste your money on this app. There are others that not only work better, have the same if not better movies.
Just because it's free doesn't mean it's better. I guarantee you that it will be easier to rent whatever movie you're looking for. I wanted to watch the shining, and I swear every 5 minutes you got 2 minutes of ads. I forgot what happened in the last clip by the time the ads were finally over. And if they run out of ads, they will still make you wait. There is a timer that's set before you can watch it agian. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! Unless you want an extra HOUR of ads.
Update 10/17/22.... I have my recordings set for new episodes of RedZone, and for whatever reason the day I can't watch football, I come to watch the next day and it's not there. Very frustrating when you count on an app to do something you've set up to do since the beginning of the season and for whatever reason it decides not to record. I don't want to have to go to another app because it's more expensive, but if it means I get to watch the things I record, then so be it.....
I got an error message when I tried opening the app that I've had for years with no problem. Spent almost 2 hours with their chat tech support who tried helping, but then tells me I have to call them direct (had already tried, but every number listed online was invalid) gave me the correct number to call. They tell me the issue will be resolved anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple days. Unacceptable that I'm paying for a service they won't provide. I asked for a refund, and the declined.
The platform is ok. Not great, but ok. However, they are now increasing the rates by $6/month (from $55 to $60.99), and although I have the sports package already, (Sling Orange and Blue, and Sling rewards), I would have to buy an additional sports package for $15-$23 or more per month (unclear on the price) to watch many of the WNBA games. Ridiculous!
