After the update my lights no longer stay off. After being off for a few minutes, they automatically try to reset and I have to re add them to the app, only to do it again and again everytime I turn them off through the app. I am going to get rid of them now because I can't sleep!! They won't turn off!!! They just freak out and turn on and off and even flash red occasionally. FIX IT!!! THIS IS TERRIBLE!! Update after 2 days of bs: my lights will no longer connect to the app. Trashing them now.

No longer able to adjust schedule (or what they are now calling "timing"). I can schedule something to go ON but can't add any other action to the same device (like OFF) without the app freezing and having to be restarted. Major bug. It appears this applies to the interface for the outdoor power strips. I'm still able to adjust schedules on my indoor plugs.

I have used a lot of smart home devices over the past decade, and only one other brand has come close to being this poor of an experience connecting devices. Instructions in app contradict the ones in the manual and do not seem consistent. Getting through the connection process feels like guesswork, and fail any which way you try, even when reconnecting devices to networks that previously worked.

Permanent Outdoor Lights Review: I was very excited to be able to have cool permanent strip lighting on my new home. Unfortunately, the pre-installed lighting features/patterns do not match what is shown in the app. I can't create custom blinking, fade or chasing and can only choose colors for every six lights. However, each bulb has the potential to be a different color. The app is confusing and has zero instructions. Over priced and not what I expected!

Love the device. However I can't get other functions to work. I've tried to add additional cards, it doesn't work. My device says low battery, once I added New batteries twice from a new pack, then I went to the store to buy a new pack to make sure. NOTHING. It still says I have a low battery. I cannot find a fix or restart? Otherwise, it works great. I'm just worried about being locked out. I've misplaced my keys! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I've been using smart life for 4 years never had a problem till the last update now my sprinkler system has been dropped so I reinstalled it 3 different times now it doesn't work at all. I've uninstall, the app reinstall it and it still isn't working. I have the same problem with other stuff on the app as well but they started working sometimes and my internet is working fine.

12/30/20- This app keeps resetting my devices and I keep walking into my bathroom to bright, flashing, white lights. Usually in the middle of the night. It's its own type of torture. Then there are times when it forgets the device altogether. 1/3/26- now it's even worse. it's forgotten all my devices (bulbs) and I can't even detect them when I want to reconnect. at this point I'll probably just get rid of them.

When I downloaded this app a different app was installed, apparently a hacker. The app insisted I pay 29.95/year or $4.99/month to add a device. There was an option to continue with the free version, but that required entering a credit card to proceed. I tried 2 different cards and they both were declined. I realized afterward that I had been scammed and called both banks to cancel the cards. Then I went back to the Play Store and downloaded the app again, but this time I got the real app.

I've had this app for a while now. It actually started with a smart surge protector and then I added an outdoor smart switch for Christmas lights. Until now everything was fine, but tonight one of my switches did not recognize the names in the app. Amazon Alexa had the names saved. I went to updat them and now there is a character limit and it doesn't recognize spaces. It saved "Snowmen" as "Snowm" and only saved "Christmas" in the names "Christmas Lights". I'm thinking a bad update.

I love how you can combine multiple brands into one app instead of needing a different app per off brand of plugs, lights etc... so simple to use in that respect. The only part that was a little hard (but not complicated) was connecting it via wifi. the process was straight forward it just couldnt find my device on the first try, it took 2 or 3 tries to finalize but that's the only frustrating part. now that its set up I am very happy

I'm seriously considering going back to normal lighting! This app decided to wipe all login information making it near impossible to simply turn the lights on. The switch is already "on" and even after cycling it the light wouldn't come on. Why did this delete the login information in the first place?! We couldn't even find the account info to access this. There has to be a far better way to do this ESPECIALLY If the Internet is down as Bluetooth rarely works as it should. NOT EASY AT ALL!

I bought 3 feeders for my animals. They all like to eat each other's prescription food so they have to be fed separated. I previously received app notifications that the feeders dispensed the food. Now I'm being required to buy a subscription for an app notification. I could understand the SMS or phone call needing a subscription, but a simple app notification. I'm finding a different app or buying different feeders.

I've had to use this app for years with different products for work and at home. I've used tons of smart device apps, and this is the worst. It is amazing when it actually works, but it doesn't work more often than not. Loading screens that never load, devices refusing to sync. Recently got an automatic pet feeder, and it took several tries and app restarts to get it to sync. It also randomly feeds extra, without me pressing or changing anything. So frustrating.

This app seems to get worse and worse as time goes on. increasing persistence in telling me to register an account. For a fricking light bulb controller. I've already spent money on the bulbs themselves, so I shouldn't need to jump through more hoops just to control them. The app has now just dropped all of the synced lights and settings, which is horrifically poor, then pushed a cute little notice telling me to make an account or I "might" lose everything. This is terrible. Do not use this.

Bad App! I Can No Longer Schedule Lights To Turn On Or Off! Iv had the Smart Plug for years now and it worked well. However, with the app upgrade you can only schedule a count-down to turn the lights off, but then, at some point in the night the lights come back on unscheduled! Most of the functions do not work but the ads to have you buy other app services seem to be working well! I'm thinking of ditching this smart plug and app and buying another brand.

Absolute trash of an app. Ever since the lights were installed they never worked correctly. They blink sporadically. They work when they want to. Sometimes they change temperatures or colors by themselves. I spent hours trying to update 4 lights and 2 just refuse to work. I should have spent a few more dollars to have a name brand light and app. The constant flickering every few seconds should be reason enough for anyone to avoid these lights. I'm tearing these out and replacing them.

This app works pretty good most of the time. The only issues I have, is little trouble when someone in the family decides to use the wall switches and gets everything out of sync for that particular lamp. I'd like to see the controls not lose their settings, even though they are pushed into a "manual" off. The programming could be a bit better and have more options. "IF," "THEN," "ELSE," should be expanded for more options also. Of course, these are just my opinions 😉.

Decent app, but it says I'm running it on a trial period, so, I should complete my information before proceeding. when I click the button to do so, it takes me to another page where I can click on complete account. Now I'm a little confused since I've never started an account, so, next page I agree to the privacy policy, and move on to next page. There I'm asked to enter my account, which I have never started because I can't find a way to register or create an account, by typing a name, passwor

Updating that a few years later and it's still working well for me. Sometimes a bulb won't automatically get detected and I need to do it manually, but I think that's more the bulb than the app. - Easy connection of multiple lights through the app. Able to create multiple different groups depending how I want to control lights. I look for lights specifically able to connect to this app.

I was hoping this was more stable/reliable by now. It's still a little cumbersome to use and today Alexa is saying "Smart Life is having problems and we've notified them!" So, even Alexa is having difficulty with them. It's nice when it works, just do as little to mess with it as possible. Update: locked out and going in a loop of forgot password and not getting in.
