SmarterNoise - Noise recorder

I think this will ve useful for my purposes. I downloaded for the feature where exceeding a set dB level triggers recording. It seemed to work in background for a short-term test (5 minites monitoring), but for my purposes I need to set it to monitor for several hours. Even if I set the timeframe for hours, when I tested at 20 minutes it had stopped monitoring, and there were no recordings when there should have been. I think I gave it all the permissions it needs.

Won't stay open. I've tried installing it twice. The calibration procedure is as clear as mud. It gives you no way of knowing when it's actually calibrated & no off button. After that, when I try to use the app, it opens & immediately closes.

By far the most professional DECIBEL METER App with time stamp and location data. Important You can calibrate it yourself. Simply find an ultra quiet room and adjust the dB to 30 with the plus minus buttons at the bottom of the calibration screen.

Unable to select microphone. Uses my front mic instead of my back (camera) mic. Defeats the purpose of recording with my camera on. Video mode records location and avg noise level.

This is a great app just what I needed. However it could be better. 1. I need to record at night so it would be very useful if the camera settings could be adjusted to create a brighter image. Many of my recording are just black! 2. You have to realise that as soon as your screensaver comes on it stops recording. Would give it 5* if these could be fixed.

Great app with a few major flaws. I bought the pro version. The app does not save video as it records. You can instantly lose a recording if you don't wait for the video to process after stopping a recording. If the camera switches to sleep mode while you are recording and you wake your phone up you lose the recording. If you delete archived videos, it deletes ALL OF THEM!! It will not let you choose. This app would be outstanding otherwise.

I needed something to provide proof of noise disturbances and this app is better than any other app that I found to do that. I would like to see a couple of additional features: 1. The ability to record video that includes the full screen and not just the video taken by the camera. 2. The ability to record a video in the audio only mode so that I have location data, time stamps and graphs but no video from the camera.

So far its working good & properly & if the settings are right...like the sensitivity, voice inhancer, speaker boost & etc are set to the correct setting & volume then it so good that it picks up the softest & lowest tone of whispering conversations. Out of only a select few choices...this is one of the best & most helpful apps that was created that actually works & that does exactly what it says it will/can!!! It really is great!!

Impressive app! The user can unlock additional features by simply watching a 5 second ad -- good way for devs to get revenue & less annoying to the user. Suggestion: I wanted to directionally locate the source of the noise. "Locate Source" would be a great feature. Also, it rated a neighbor's beeping alarm clock as mild cognitive impairment. That setting is too low for a repetitive, spiking, low db noise. Thanks!

This is a very good app considering that it records the video of the location and the dB along with the date time and geographic coordinates. But the problem is that they allow you to download the app free and then slowly cut down on its features one by one. Yes even the free version. Plus it takes up a large amount of space and it is extremely extremely extremely exhaustingly slow to upload to YouTube.

An auto save feature, maybe for watching an advertisement, would bring this app to 5 out of 5 stars. Also maybe.and the ability to see the sound spectrum being reviewed for ultrasonic and infrasonic would be awesome. Maybe for an advertisement. Boost. A feature to adjust the measurement time to way way less than 5 seconds. It should be measuring. Non stop DBA

I've had this app for a long time, I liked it. It works perfectly to see the desibels of many devices in my home, it's worth having, obviously I have to put a better microphone that is more sensitive than the phone.. Only that it has a lot of propaganda and there is no way to take that away from it.

correct app, clear, concise text about noise, measurement, interpretation of readings, related health risks and the limitations of the app itself. References from relevant scientific literature and to particular scientists are also included. Yet refreshingly easy to read/use, well-structured, aesthetically pleasing. Clearly, plenty of thought and effort was put into this app. Most commendable.

Now the app's Archive is working. Thank You. I found the button to record but the Archive folder cannot be accessed. What can be done? Thank you, I've found the button for the record and save. Please help, how do i save noise recording and where are the files saved.

Very solid app. Might actually get the Pro version for more practical fun, but I'd like a little more customization for myself. I honestly can say, this app is on point. Does everything it says it would. (***For ANY THOUGHTS I'D LIKE TO SEE DONE, SEE THE "&" SIGN IN BOTTOM COMMENT PARAGRAPH). &Even like more descriptions of tips and tools than just those found when tapping on the 4 FACES looking at you while making noise. I want to know things like, "what is the 'Confidence' box for?"

incredible app!, fast, reliable, stable and very complete, a nice professional tool in your pocket. The only missing feature (or area of opportunity) is that it has no buffer for 1-2 seconds of pre record, so when the noise activates the recording, the first noise is not complete. Maybe a future nice to have.

Hi I just downloaded the app. I have been trying to use the video/audio record in my phone to prove how much noise the guy in the condo above me is making. Frm what ive seen this is great,,but cant figure out what im doing wrong with the timer, i set it to record for 30 minutes to monitor the banging and its only recording 11 seconds with each recording? I was hoping to playback the audio/video track while seeing the decibel graph run along the bottom in synch? Does that happen?

I love your app because you really try to cover all the bases while providing both some possible answers as well as perhaps providing some information. If i may make a suggestion, write some code for an SPL (ultrasound) microphone to add to this app !!! My life is seriously and currently in grave danger. The fact that your app records in real time has provided me a safe haven or place at least a couple of times. Every woman like myself should have this one. It may save your life !!

Great app, easy to figure out what buttons do what and how to even record video with a decibel reading real time. The only thing, and I haven't even read the how-to info in the app, but I wish there was a spectrum or even a peak db/hz reading for sounds out of human hearing range.

Update. I did a test recording and then it asked to save or discard. I then did so again recording close to one hour of a 98 year olds life story for her great grand daughter. I picked up the phone and the app was stopped if this is android systems fault I will gladly let them know I would pay a hundred dollars for that recording they arrogantly destroyed with a lazy task killer. I can't imagine the app this bad It appears to record and accurately measure db levels which is nice to see both.
