Favorite destinations and routes have disappeared completely and won't work. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling. There is no way to see train times for a particular stop. I used to be able to see the trains coming at my home and work stops. Now I can't even search for the red line. Useless app. Also the metro is late today, again.

A serviceable app with strange inconsistencies. The setup does take an unusual amount of time (and information), and I'm pretty sure there is a mismatch between the create-account password and the actual password requirmenys (i.e. USE TWO NUMBERS IN THE PW OR YOU'LL HAVE TO RESET IT). Once you're past that it is straightforward though, more or less. I wish there wasn't a card setup fee - makes the digital app kinda pointless when you need to "buy a card" anyway.

I purchased an unlimited 1-day pass but never got it. It charged my card the full amount but never showed up anywhere. I didn't even get a confirmation email. When I tried to call customer service, I got a message that their customer service center isn't open on the weekends. You should get a physical card if you can, because the app is useless and lost me $15. Edit: I increased my score from one star to two because they refunded me pretty quickly. Still a frustrating and useless app tho.

This app worked fine until I got a new phone. Now the card I linked for using the tap feature won't work because apparently you can only use the device it was originally. You'd think the geniuses who wrote this app would anticipate people getting new phones. For that reason I can't give it a very high rating as changing phones is a common enough event that you shouldn't have to discover your app no longer works at the point of payment.

App is useless. Can't buy a card online and use immediately. Must have a card to add to the app. Must be at a metro kiosk to buy a physical card. So don't be in a hotel far away from a metro station because you won't be able to catch a bus or a train until you hit up a kiosk. And the fun doesn't stop there. If your card runs out of funds you can recharge online, technically. But don't expect the funds to be immediately available. They can take up to 4 hours to become available. Horrible!!!!!

Edit: In response to your reply to my review. NFC has nothing to do with my review. I guess I shouldn't be surprised your tech support doesn't even read what problems your app is having I just needed a bus from the airport. I spent 10 minutes creating an account and setting up my profile. Finally I pay $15 to get a 1 day pass and my bank says my card was charged. But the app can't find my card, didn't give me a receipt, and I can't try adding a card again. How am I supposed to use the bus now?!

Do not use this app to load money to your cars. I used the app because the station signs recommended doing everything online. I purchased a 1 day unlimited pass. When I tried to use it money was deducted from my balance. I called the customer service number and was told online purchases can take 4 hours to load. I was already halfway to my destination and couldn't wait 4 hours so I had to buy a second day pass. I could not get the charge canceled or refunded. Very disappointing.

I don't usually rate apps but this one is horrible. The app opens everytime I unlock my phone. When I get to the fare gate, it takes 3+ attempts to work and shows blank transactions. It's also good for only one card. If you are traveling with a child, you will still need a physical pass for them. The biggest issue, is you should not add funds to your stored value card from this app as it takes 24 hours to process. Guess when I need to add funds? At the fare gate. Can't wait to uninstall.

I made the mistake of adding the app without reading the reviews. I'm here for the weekend. Transferred my plastic card to the app. Now I can't add funds to it. Even if I get the app to the point of making a charge, 10 minutes later I get an email telling me my charge was cancelled. The only option for customer support is M-F, by which time I will be 2300 miles away and this will be a moot point. Going to have to buy a new card I guess.

This app is absolute trash!! the app was working fine when I was using a digital card, but then all of a sudden last weekend, when I tried to add more value on the card, the app started giving me connection problems and I kept getting emails that they Canceled my purchase without explaining the reason why it was canceled. is even contacted their customer service, and it they didn't even address or fix the problem at all regarding their app. After this, I'm going back to using a physical card.

Can't even create an account. I entered all the required information to set up the account, and it said it emailed me a link to finish with confirmation. The email was never sent, despite re-trying it a few more times. This is utterly unusable. *EDIT* Their response was that I should call their customer support phone number. No. This is a fundamental automated function of your software. You should fix it so it works. *EDIT2* The email came 9 and a half hours late.

The worst! I used this app to attempt to put money on my card after I linked it to the app. I messed around and found out. The app said it takes up to four hours for balance to reflect on card, seven hours since I put money on the card, balance is still not there. Will call my bank to get reimbursed, smh never again, app acts just like metro.

Added $10 but no credit, no receipt, and my credit card was charged. Staff said this happens often & could take days for the app to show the added value. I had to buy a physicalcard. I was lucky to have another $10, but not everyone does—many rely on every dollar to get around. Still no refund. Just another issue on top of delays, broken trains, dirty new cars, and constant service problems. Sad to see such a critical system in this state when places like China and Europe are far ahead. Shame.

Horrible, I downloaded app and attempted to pay for a full day pass with THREE separate credit cards, and each on kept saying error unable to process. So now to have to attempt to pay cash this am (even if they do that?) On the bus then metro for the metro card. And I know someone is going to write below to call the helpline to figure it out, but we are only here one day so it is not helpful at all. Really disappointed and hopefully I can buy the passes in person.

Utter trash. Bought card with Google wallet. Added to app. Doesn't work for 2 days. Attendants said the Android app is awful. Some were clueless. They ended up selling me another physical card and put too much on it. Metro is convenient but app stinks. I emailed and got zero reply. You will have to dispute the credit card charge. Avoid the app and get a regular card but be sure attendant doesn't overload it. The card is $2 for virtual and stops working permanently if you add it to the app.

Have a backup because the app sometimes won't even work. And for some reason you can't even load money onto the card, I have tried to do it via the app, the online portal. It seems like there are some issues with their "digital card". Lol I I tried reloading again. And the transaction has been pending for over a week. The last one seemed to have at least not gone through since my credit card had no record of it after it showed as pending. DO NOT RELY on this when you are running LATE.

Works great when it does. But multiple times when I have internet connection and plenty of balance, it does not go through the reader, and just says try again on the reader. It wastes time and I miss my metro because of it. If you are going to permanently disable the card, then the app/reader cannot be bugging out like this. At the very least should allow access on the plastic card and the app, especially if you still have bugs to work out and you advertise this as an alternative. Disappointed.

Deplorable app! The original cards are so much easier to use! Everytime you want to enter or exit a station, you have to stand at the turnstyle, log into the app before you can swipe! So much easier to pull a card out of your pocket, then swipe. I don't know what goes on between Google pay and this app, but it keeps loosing my credit card info. I got stuck inside a station and could not exit. The station attendants are no help either.

DO NOT INSTALL !!! Believe me, after spending 10 minutes filling out invasive forms, adding your credit card, trying to figure out how to credit your account, .... you'll wish you'd just went to the vending machine and got the 2$ plastic card. The user experience is terrible, the subscription process is terrible. Probably the worst app out there, even worse than the NJ transit app. I wish I had the option to give zero stars.

This app must be a joke. As a tourist, I must have an US phone number to register. Horrible UX, but I'll let it slide. Then, I get an unexpected value error when trying to add my credit card details. It charges the bank but does not add the payment method! People who QA'd this app should really consider a change in career and I don't say this lightly.
