The game is so bad being monetized to the brim with P2W mechanics it's actually great, because it shows a unexpectadly accurate picture of how the actual game of football is monetized through let's just say... questionable practices. On the other hand it is a solid physics based game where you strategically push the pucks in order to score a goal, one move at a time. While the game deserves a 1 star for it's greed, I am giving a 4 for it's "so bad it's good" quality.
This game is littered with ads and micro transactions. This should not normal for games. Yes this is a skill based game for the most part, but the best formations a locked behind very expensive pay walls. Also the skills can be paid for to skip the grind, but the grind is insane so paying to skip is easier and faster. Good luck finding competion that is your actual skill level and hasn't paid to skip at least some of the grind.
Features don't work correctly. It take a very long time to open a decent team unless you buy one. Mini games do not always award prizes as displayed. If you have been playing for a long time using a Google account you will not be able to use the gifts tab that they made available to people with Facebook sign in and if you use Facebook sign in it will reset all of your stats, boots, and team status (unlocks and upgrades). Other than those small issues its a pretty fun game.
The game is overall fun, but it has many issues. For one, the ads are incredibly annoying. I mean, they take forever to load, AND forever to exit. Then, the opponents the game gives you are sometimes 50 levels or more ahead of you, even on normal fields. The game should be working your way up, not throwing everything it has at you. at first the game is pretty fun, but then it starts getting more boring. So I think you should download the game, but not forever since it you'll likely lose interest
Bleeding my Bucks away is getting VERY problematic. The in-game premium currency (Bucks) isn't easy to obtain a lot of for free, yet there are constant glitches that strip players of them when they aren't paying attention. First, I noticed pack-opening costs not matching the amount taken, once tapped. I recorded it and reported it. Now, I just noticed a "Free" Penalty Rush session resulting in a deduction of 5 Bucks. For frequent players, this adds up. Fix these glitches because this is theft.
At the higher levels the players by in large hit it in their defensive corner over and over and over again waiting an eternity to try to capitalize on a mistake. This makes this great game boring. There should be an alternative game mode where you have like 10-15 chance shot clock to get out of your own zone this will force players at the higher levels to actual force something to happen instead of doing the same thing over and over. I think this is a better solution than rounded corners.
Honestly one of my favorite games. However, once I got to level 10 the game started screwing up. Connection got real bad and I missed my turn so many times due to running out of time. On top of that, the match up of levels is totally off. Im at level 13 with 10K in coins on the line and yall gonna match me up with a level 92. Lost the match within 20 seconds. I uninstalled the game.
was long time player. made small purchase. hadn't played in a bit but not too long. everything was reset like I'd never played before. doubt they'll do anything about it. they make decent little games but are still just another pathetic money-hungry group of people. there are so many pop-ups on the menu screens. they even added ads after every game, and it says make a purchase to remove, which adds insult to my situation since I did but the game was reset for no reason.
I lost over 1m coins because of a glitch that happens when playing All In. When I join, it automatically crashes my game and I lose everything. Also, this game is very pay to win, there is really no good way of getting gold packs without buying them, which ruins the game. Also, slow players ruin the game as well, making it very irritating to try and have fun. And finally, I am unable to challenge my friends for a friendly match. Please fix your game!
Excellent game. I really enjoy it, it can be addictive. However, there's sooo many ads. Literally, after every single game you get an ad. I wouldn't mind if the ads were more sporadic. But an after every game is too much. If you play in the Qatar arena, it's first goal wins, so sometimes these matches last only two shots then you get an ad again. If it weren't for so many ads, my review would be 5*
Edit(The devs are incredibly aggressive in trying to get you to part with money) The devs are scam artists actually. Each and every time I've managed to accumulate coin, I then am paired against a team with an unbeatable formation, much more shooting time, and a skill level closer to 100 than 0. For as many games as it takes to take my coin back. Then the games normalize. I dont know what it costs to get a team like that, and never will. A fun game ruined by shameless, limitless greed.
It's a soccer field playing like ping pong, taking turns with opponents. 3rd time downloaded and it's still fun to play. At first, somewhat easy and do recommend to complete each country until you get the cleats because there's is no restrictions for to enter the next levels. Next, the reason I keep coming back is because it starts to get really hard and the game doesn't pause, so when you're in higher levels, you'll be losing a lot of money(coins) if you have a lot of things to do in real life.
I love this game a lot. I do have some questions though. One, my phone was intercepted by ads and I had to do a factory reset on my phone to make it go away. Two, the game lags during offline practice. Three, the boarder around the field makes it very difficult to manuever the aim arrow during pulling back for full force. Other than that, I love it.
Love the base game. Cons: lots of windows I have to close before I can play the game - mostly ads for Soccer Stars itself. The ability to pay for a better set of discs seems to have a small effect on the game. Disconnects from my wifi at inconvenient times, like right after I win a match, and doesn't switch to data. Then I lose the coins in spite of the win. Anybody know a way to diagnose the connection problem? The support form is intimidatingly complex.
The aiming is good, but the shotting is not. The opponent also keeps on covering the goal which doesn't let you score. I don't even think that's something that you do in the actual sport. The game also gives you an opponent that's 30 levels ahead of you! Even on easy fields! It wastes my coins because of this. An ad also pops up after I'm done with a game while in the past it didint. The competitions are fun and all but they are WAY too short! I also love how the croud cheers when you score.
This game does not work. It complain about my connection literally every time I take a shot (other games do it every10-30 minutes). When I drag to aim, sometimes it drags the opposite way and goes in such a way, it's impossible to reset the aim. Sometimes, it randomly shoots mine. There are times when it times me out and give the other person the win, even though the other person quit. Terrible.
The game is ruined! I've been playing it for several years, and what I enjoyed most about it, which kept it as my go-to game, was the challenge of skill against other real, human players. However, now that there's a hacked version out there and people are using it, there's no fun and no challenge. You cannot win against someone using the hacked version to score every time and from 'impossible' positions. Calling on MiniClip to do something about this. Until then ... goodbye.
Simple, fun game, except it is ridden with ads, and the controls can make it really difficult to make shots when the ball/player is very close to the wall. Also had a few times where game "lost connection" when I was taking a shot, only to end up with me losing my turn because I took too long right after. ads are also conveniently placed on both sides of the playing field, making it almost impossible to avoid tapping on ad while adjusting your shot and bring redirected to somewhere else.
atrocious amount of micro transactions and ads. game starts out as somewhat fun trying to pull off incredible trickshots and strategically placing your pieces. but it immediately gets boring as you find opponents will just try to build a wall in front of their goal and completely ignore the ball exists. you can try to fling one of your pieces to try to break the wall but then on the next turn they'll just fling their piece back in to the wall as if nothing had happened. horribly boring gameplay
Keep away, folks! Full of ads and dark pattern popups for purchases without confirmation if accidentally pressed. Purchases are done with premium in-game currency (purchased with real money), so they deny refunds per their T&C, even though T&C does NOT override customer protection law!
