really happy with this app/bank. had a bank before sofi ( I will not mention their names) but my account was hacked 3 times!! I finally got fed up with them and switched. I'm so glad I did. the app is easy to use, and you also earn points, which you can redeem for cash, or pay off your credit card/student loans. I'd give them 6 Stars if it would let me.

Truly a great/easy to use banking app, and the Savings APY isn't the highest nor is it the lowest APY. App tends to function well. If you are new to investing, this bank offers very simple and easy to understand stock metrics. Sofi is a good place for individuals to begin investing in Stock. I gave this review 4 stars because there is always room for improvement and growth.

I really love the SoFi app/bank. It has really simplified how I keep track of money, where it goes to, or even how I manage my money. Not only that, but instant notifications of when you spend money, higher than average APY rates, easy direct deposit setup, easy to ask for checks, a card, credit card, loans if needed, etc. Lastly, everything is online! Making an account with them is so easy, saved me a LOT of time & hassle of having to set aside time to go to a bank in-person.

I've always used the vault system in my savings account, and used to find it so easy to use. I could adjust how much goes into each vault easily through the app. this changed recently and now I have to log in on desktop to do so. Quite inconvenient. first they introduce the $10/month subscription fee, now this? Any more surprises and I might have to change banks

Can't even log in. It says, "unable to verify your biometrics" and then when you try to login manually it says, "there's a problem on our end". How can I make any deposits or transactions if I can't even get in? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing the cache and nothing. This has been going on for awhile and until it gets fixed I'm leaving my 1 star. When I talked to someone over the phone they said there was nothing going on on their side. It's frustrating!

they changed the categories for cash flow tracking. options that were there are gone and have been replaced with options that don't apply. you also need to change the category of all transactions one at a time. Using the only thing that will respond to a question, AI, is a waste of time. Eventually you can get "transferred to a live agent", but they never show up.

Sofi as a bank is pretty good, but the app and experience has gotten worse over time. They changed the layout to make editing automatic transfers to vaults and stock purchases more difficult. It almost seems like a deliberate choice so that the user is less likely to pause them. I don't mind an AI chatbot for basic things, but the real customer reps aren't as good as they used to be. The mortgage section is in serious need for an update.

They refuse to give a transcript of a chat session. They tell us that we have to issue a subpoena. For an outfit that professes to be progressive, this is very disconcerting. Also, when in a support chat session, and waiting for the agent to get back to me, the app will log me out and force me to log back in with multi-factor authentication and then navigate all the way down through the menu tree to get to the chat session again which at this point the agent has been disconnected.

Not very clear way to make loan payment.....I have looked all over menu and dashboard shouldn't be this hard to find the button to click to manage and pay loan back not impressed. App goes over and beyond to sell you more stuff very frustrating when all I want to do is pay monthly loan payment. Needs updating this reminds me of what Amazon did to customers who wanted to cancel prime subscription and I believe they just had to pay a large settlement. They may need to look into this app next.

What a terrible app. Doesn't matter the device it's on - it crashes, is slow, and "forgets" your biometrics every few days and has to be reinstalled. These same problems have existed for years... When your only product is an app (you have no physical banks) spend money making sure the app works, no?

Well the app is good but the biggest issue is have to change my password ev ery couple of days. Everytime I enter my password the app tells me it is incorrect, which is not possible. I also verify that it is entered correctly. This feature is making the use of the app difficult and time consuming. I would give 5 stars but sometimes I can even log in to the app because I have to constantly update the password! SMH!!!

I really like the app, but I would like to see the ability to have multiple self-directed portfolios to use for different trading strategies and savings purposes. Also, when the app icon shows I have messages, I used to be able to open the app and click on the message bell in the top right corner. The bell disappeared about a week ago, so I can no longer read new messages in the app. Has anyone else reported this bug? I have a Samsung Android phone.

Joined a couple months ago. Generally works better than my old bank, but I don't love how the interest rate has changed twice since I enrolled. Also don't love how they immediately changed SoFi Plus rules either. Also wish I could use the relay. Many of my transactions get duplicated (sometimes way more), so it looks like my spending is really out of control. It's not. The UI could be easier. Feels like too many ads, or other things in the way, when I'm just trying to see my transactions.

I finally got on by using an email address which I have, but don't really use as a Visible phone number which I had, I no longer have. The forgot Email Address link didn't work for my desired email address. I know one thing I won't put any money in it except for the barest amount. SoFi needs to prove themselves, so far their track record with me hasn't even arrived on the charts, not to mention their financial solvency gave me pause. Also, how about a balance widget like Chime has.

Can't go wrong. It's the best digital bank. UPDATE!!!! After three years of excellent service, unfortunately, I can't log into the app. Changed my password, but it's in some kind of loop keeps taking me back to the login screen. The only way to access my account is thru duck duck go web browser.

Not a bad banking app. Not as user friendly as I would like it to be. It's confusing to navigate the app at first. The biggest headache is the security features. Just started using it. Went out shopping and paying bills. The card kept declining every time I tried to use it. Had about $1,500 on it. Had to call CS every time before swiping, and have them on the line while swiping the card to be sure it went through. It was a nightmare!! They told me it was not them but MasterCard.

I didn't care for the $20 inactivity fee. I did not login for a couple years, hoping to see investment gains by setting and forgetting, and then found I had been hit with about $100 in inactivity fees that I wasn't tracking. It seems a bit cluttered and not as intuitive to be able to withdraw funds if you don't use it regularly. Otherwise, the Sofi app is great with many resources.

Setting up an account was so easy! Could purchase stocks shortly after setting the account up. Just a reminder, there will be a three day hold on most the funds...they allow a certain amount instantly, but keep it in mind. Love the app so far! A suggestion: add a "notes" option for stock holdings and the wish list where we can save and edit insights related to individual stocks.

I love SoFi as a bank, but in the last few months I stopped getting transaction notifications. It's not a phone setting, they don't show in my account at all. I reached out to SoFi and they created a technical ticket on 10/27. NOTHING has been done and the ticket is still in Escalated To Engineering status. This is a huge hindrance and I find it hard to believe I'm the ONLY one experiencing this issue.

Updated from 5 to 3 stars: They started treating transactions related to money transfers as a cash advance on their credit card, charging an extra fee. Every time you try to sell and buy stocks, they flag you as a day trader, but when you are buying every week, there are no complaints. The good: was their high interest rate on savings and checking accounts, but it keeps going down every month... the app still has a great design and user experience.
