This is by far the worst streaming app I've used. Watching a 20-minute highlight reel gets interrupted by ads not just at the start, but at least five more times throughout — completely ruining the viewing experience. Even worse, during live matches, the app forces ads at the beginning, causing us to miss crucial live action. I've never encountered this level of interruption with any other app. Absolutely not worth subscribing to — I won’t be renewing and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Downloaded the app.. and paid for a month ( doesnt even offer a 7 day trial period like the rest of the better streaming apps). Anyways, once i did that, Ive never been able to load any videos on my Samsung TV. It works fine on my phone but not on the TV. I then deleted the app on the TV and reinstalled it, and now I cant add my profile on the TV coz, once you sign in to a TV, the option disappears on my phone app to sync to the TV second time. Such a waste of time and money.
Highly frustrated! Since last 3-4 months, I am unable to renew due to 'Already Subscribed' glitch. Because of this bug, I missed several lower-priced offers and now the plans have become expensive! Your support email doesn't work and WhatsApp agents are always offline. I won't pay the increased price for your technical failure. Fix this and give me the old offer! Reg No
Too many ADS !! Has so many bugs, If you play one episode another starts in between, and too many ADS. Even with the paid version there are ads in the show and between the show, it feels like 50% of the time you are watching ads. this has been for months now, no improvements and very poor streaming services.
Something is terribly wrong with the ABR streaming. I'm not sure what protocol or technology it uses. The video quality never reached 1080p with auto resolution setting while on my home network with blazing fast speeds. All other apps on my phone, TV stream the highest resolution. on top of that, when I change the quality from auto to 720p fixed, the quality remains the same. it only plays ,720 after I stop video, go to home screen and continue watching. the 2 settings in app are insufficient.
This used to be one of the better live streaming apps. Recently, it has been very glitchy. Video quality switches between HD and SD every 5 to 10 seconds even on a perfectly good internet connection. This has been going on for a while. Fix this immediately.
I’m extremely disappointed with this streaming app. I paid for the premium plan specifically to enjoy an ad-free experience, yet I’m still being forced to watch ads. It feels like a complete waste of money and a misleading promise to customers. If users are paying extra, they shouldn’t have to sit through interruptions like they’re on a free plan. The content is good, but the constant ads ruin the experience and make the premium subscription feel pointless. rating -5
Glitchy & or fraudulent as well. It has suddenly decided that I don't have a paid subscription vs an email address it forced me to add where all this while my subscription was associated with my phone number. It is refusing to log me in via my number while I have paid for an annual subscription. REMOVE from app store!!!
unwanted resolution. I was unable to play wheel of fortune game. I raised issue online. useless resolution of clearing cache, installation of update version was informed. nothing works. it is just Sony Liv wants users to re install the app to add counting of app downloads. A cheap means of getting traffic to the app download. wasting time of users and causing inconvenience
Too many ads even after paying premium for the subscription. During live cricket matches, or watching your favorite TV show or movies, multiple ads are forced on us. Ex: an hour long episode of Masterchef India'26 had more than 40 ads ( at the minimum). This is the first season of masterchef India that I will not be able to watch till the end due to the app experience. The worst OTT platform hands down !
No other live sport streaming platform that I know of shows you unskippable ads on refresh when you have a premium subscription! In a live game! It single handedly makes it worst game viewing experience. I sincerely hope the Uefa Champions League viewing rights are stripped away from them!
If you want to watch a 40-minute episode on this app, please spare at least 80 minutes from your schedule — because the ads alone take another 40. I honestly don’t understand the strategy here. If the goal is to make people not watch the content (apart from ads, of course), then it’s working perfectly. Ads after every 5-10 mins and that too 5-6 ads. I am shocked. It feels less like a streaming app and more like an ad marathon.
I've watched Shark Tank India, and I've noticed that even with the premium version, there are a lot of ads, almost 10 times as many as on YouTube. Additionally, some important features, like variable playback speed, are missing. If you're mainly interested in watching Shark Tank, it's better to watch it on YouTube, as this app has many bugs and ads
It's my mistake that I have taken the premium plan for 1 year. while watching shows which are not live, I still see 4 ads, which were there before having the subscription. This the last time I am paying for subscription. I will not recommend to anyone. One suggestion to Sony network add one more plan which will be ads free or what is the difference between having or not having the subscription. And ask/hire a better UX team to improve your player.
they are doing a scam . I paid for the best premium plan expecting an ad-free experience, and yet this app still shows way too many ads. What’s the point of paying if nothing changes? It feels misleading and greedy. The constant interruptions ruin the experience completely. Definitely not worth the money. do not purchase the subscription it shows 1 min add in every 5 mins. pls do not take premium membership
I don't understand what so called services are you offering by charging us premium and still showing advertisements in all the shows? This is by far the most pathetic app and I as a viewer feel cheated even after buying paid subscription I'm still forced to see advertisements that too not on live matches. It is on pre recorded shows!!!! I'm not going to renew my subscription anymore!!! This is not expected from a brand like SONY!
Banners show Dolby Atmos for very few content and those too are fake. Does not even play 5.1 audio, even with paid premium subscription. Sony app is no where near other services. Extremely bad customer service. Episodes stop midway and move to the next one. Too many ads. I guess they're not bothered about anything because some of the content is good. Don't waste your money on paid subscription.!!
This is really frustrating. While watching a single episode, I end up seeing 5–6 ads every 10 minutes. It honestly feels like I’m watching advertisements more than the actual show. I understand that ads are part of streaming and are expected, but this level of interruption is excessive and unacceptable. I really didn’t expect this much.
I think my TV watching habit will go because of you people. Sony LIV is the only app that doesn’t work properly on Jio TV+ Fiber, every other app works fine. Shows start randomly, end midway, and restart from the beginning. Ads are unbearable: 3-4 minutes as soon as I turn on a channel, and if I change the channel by mistake, again 5–6 minutes of the same repetitive ads. Basically, you are pushing users hard to stop watching TV, or at least stop watching Sony LIV. Pathetic service.
worst app.. paid for subscription but still getting ads, not 1 but 6 ads in every 3 minutes. if you say that subscriptions have the same ads policy, mention that clearly on your subscription page not under hidden terms and conditions. Stop playing these hidden terms games with your customer, who is paying you not to see ads and you saying you will see ads even if we pay. Then why will we pay.
