After some support from the customer success team, I now use Spike as my go-to email client. It's much better at sorting through the clutter than others. Although I find it easier to manage, it has much room for improvement. Currently you cannot copy messages before opening a reply or forward. Sometimes duplicate drafts save after sending. Might be also because I still use other clients to send professional signatures or formatting for bullets, links, and other rich-text.
Update: now you can only have 1 email address unless you upgrade. OG: Really visually appealing and efficient to use! My only problem is that messages with pics often won't send. I'm not sure if it might just be because I'm using cell data which is a little slower than what the app needs? Just wish that the message would send slowly but still send, rather than saying "can't send" so quickly. I end up just having to use another mail app to send sometimes.
I want to give more stars, but when I try to send a picture, it constantly tells me that the file can't load, and is saved to my drafts. When I go to my drafts folder it's not there. Some pictures will go through, but others won't. Please fix this issue for me, it's highly frustrating to say the least. Also it will tell me that the other person is online when they're not, and "last seen an hour ago" when they ARE online.
I've been waiting years for an app like this for Smartphones and computers; something substantially different, but yet retains the same functionality as traditional email clients. I've just only begun to use it, but so far I really like it. UPDATE: After updating to Android 11, the app lost functionality. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and it appears to be working now.
Update: had to uninstall and went back to Outlook due to issues described. Original: I have to delete messages several times before they'll go away, and there's no refresh option (as far as I can tell) and messages are delayed. It's a cool concept but the problem with threading emails as people is with promotional emails, some I want, some I don't (i.e. "your order has shipped" vs "save 10%") and it's too easy to delete every single message, and too cumbersome to delete just some of them.
I want to like this app. It looks like it has a lot of good features, but it just doesn't seem to work. I try to select multiple messages and it stops selecting after a random number (different every time). I delete messages and they are still there. It's slow, and it's frozen on me multiple times and I've only had it installed for like an hour. Going to uninstall it, because it's unusable. :(
The app is good but there are a few key issues that make me consider not using it (Samsung flip user): 1. The app doesn't have a way to mark as spam 2. The app doesn't work when trying to look at deleted emails. Deleted emails won't load properly 3. There needs to be an easy forward button, and the swiping to delete or archive is anti-intuitive. 4. Its not easy to copy text, it often copies the entire email instead of letting you select a few lines of text.
To start, I can't find my drafts. If I don't finish an email, I can never find it again (yes I look in the drafts folder, for all and a specific account) I'm not sure if I'm missing emails, the UI is limited to Priority and Other which isn't exactly helping me with my Inbox woes. After a month or two, I still cannot say I'm happy. It's nice that it's multiplatform, but I still have to manually setup 18 email accounts on every new platform...not so intelligent. The mobile interface is a bit strange and has bugs that I can't reproduce well enough to report. Try this app maybe you'll like it... I'm worried I'm missing important emails still.

Great app! Features I feel like are missing: Automatically set tags to each email for easy filtering (e.g. Purchases, Travel, Social, Newsletter, etc.), showing a tag/pill when there is an attachment in the email with the file type icon and file name. Could have a lifetime deal option. Could crawl the web or use Clearbit for profile pictures based on the domain/company. Smart summary should auto update with new messages. Other than that, amazing app and experience! Too hard to manage account.
absolutely terrible customer service. I was told I had till the 25th or I would start being charged for it and now that I want to make sure this won't happen, I can't get customer service to answer any questions and none of the functions work as far as making sure I won't be charged. avoid this at all costs. it is a scam here's the update. they lied to me that they were not going to charge me on the 25th But they did. they finally refunded my money with Google's help.
There's a lot to like about this app. The AI summary is really helpful and I like the priority and other groupings. Being able to delete big groups is great and I really like the chat layout. On the downside, the chat bot is just a gimmick. EDIT 31/12/2025 - Improved my rating because the bugs I was experiencing went away. I have unsubbed though, because I wasn't using enough, and found it a frustrating process.

this is a very uncertain trust app. I don't like that it can erase my contacts and emails without my permission or anything else without my permission. everything goes to the internet that's not private. I just got a email from a close friend to talk with him on here and I don't know it seems like it's a lot of permission for just to talk with a friend.
I've been using the Spike app for a while . The Auto Archive feature is hugely underappreciated. You are missing out if you don't use it. You can always delete everything in bulk at the end of the year or get to sender emails later if needed. If you just block the sender in many cases you can regret later. 100% recommend it. using along with regular Gmail app for search beyond 1 month but mostly Spike.
It was a great product but it apparently no longer works with Outlook. I haven't been able to access any of my accounts in over a month. I've contacted customer support a few times and no one ever gets back to me. It's a shame because they had an awesome feature where you can see if someone opened up your email or not.
works easily to manage your emails and even has some like pretty much text message features really It turns your email to a text message
Really happy with the app - the best I have worked with so far. The only missing feature really is to enable us to customize incoming sounds - I find the default one to be both too low and "boring" (or too common, I can't distinguish if I'm the one being notified when I'm in a group ). Please, please enable it, people - and then a 5-star review is coming your way!
I really liked the look of this, and it seemed to work quite well, but after a short time of using it started to realise that it didn't provide basic functionality (e.g. notifications for emails in folders other than the inbox - key functionality for me that all other mail apps provide). I sent the list of issues to support months ago, which they basically acknowledged, but they don't seem to have any intention to address. To make matters worse, despite never having been told this, the whole thing was basically a free trial. And now it's expired, and become unusable. It tells me that I can carry on using it for personal email (which is all I've ever been using it for) but that my business email can no longer be accessed. I have no idea how it's determining what business email is, but it's obviously doing it wrong, and now I can no longer access my personal mail in it without paying money for a subscription. Even if they addressed all my issues, I wouldn't be paying a subscription for this since none of the functionality is really that much better than other free or one-off payment apps with similar functionality. So bye bye!
I had using Spike And was having a little problem had Add a little problem Zach Was trying to help me Reinstate my account And it never came back it keeps saying that the account is blocked I don't understand What's going on and I haven't been able to use it I've seen numerous emails and no one answers me And I've also try to contact you to Facebook no one enters me can someone please let me know what's going on
Spike was my go to after Inbox by Google. 'Archive' rarely works on the first try and there is no 'copy' in the Android app. I quit because of an email they sent. Unfortunately, I cancelled the day after my renewal. I've been paying for years so they won't refund me, but they've also kicked me out of access to the paid features in the app and have asked for feedback an unreasonable number of times. They're about 80% there to a great tool, but when you encounter the other 20% it is maddening
