SportsEngine – Team Management

Works ok these days. No way to chat with individuals or social groups though; it's the whole team. Email messaging in app allows "team members plus staff" as an option which isn't on the web, but then you can't add attachments to emails in app but you can on the web. Other quirks between app and web. Very inconsistent

App is okay for scheduling, but the chat is not great. I am unable to open any pictures in the chat. (Android ) very frustrating because I can't get the tournament schedules. When I try to save a picture, the app just crashes. 11/14/25 update Unable to open the app. yes, my app it up to date. keeps crashing when trying to open. This is extremely irritating because we are at a tournament.

Tournament registration cannot be handled through the app. Have to log into the web version. Message notifications do not take the user directly to the message, but instead, to the home screen, then Team selection, then the Message feature. Ads. Extra (buried) steps to block data tracking and 3rd party sharing.

The app is helpful, especially when multiple players are on multiple teams. I appreciate the schedules all together or separately in the team. An easy way to schedule/sign up for duties like locker room monitors, snacks, game filming, etc. would be great! VERY GREAT PLEASE add another response emoji other than a heart! I don't like '❤️' our coach's chat posts....it's weird! LOL

Works ok. Ever since last football season, I haven't been able to get pictures. When they post a picture of the schedule, lost and found, team pics ect., it won't let me open the picture or save it and then the app just closes all on its own and says "there's a bug". Kinda a waste of an app if you can't use it as intended. I'd rather switch apps, but, unfortunately, that's not my call to make.

Works but... Scheduling and notifications work fine. Like many others have posted I am having an issue with the photos also. When someone posts a photo when I click it it shows the first photo in the gallery but will never show me recently posted photos. Makes it difficult to share schedules and pictures in this app. Many others in our group have the same issue. Looking to change apps in the near future because of it.

App is really unreliable. Freezes a lot. Cannot save photos shared in chat. I've contacted them several times about this. They always seem to think it's on my end and insist an update has come out since Oct 2023, but this page clearly shows that's not the case. They tell me to uninstall completely, restart my phone and reinstall. I've done that several times to appease them, but nothing is fixed when I do this. This was supposedly going to be fixed in mid March. It's still not working. I'm done!

The app has been so uunreliable. Last year my husband was missing function on the app. This year I don't have all the functions the app is supposed to have. I am not able to email or see any of the information from the team's roster contacts. Very frustrating. I have uninstall the app hoping to fix this issue and no luck. I wish our team used teamsnap. Teamsnap was reliable, never had any issues with teamsnap.

App is broken on Android for our hockey team but not other teams. Works fine on iPhone. Fails to load teams and fails to open scheduled entries. I opened a trouble ticket and sent them the logs off my phone, and even pointed out where it was throwing an exception (doesn't like the data being sent from their server), and was told it's a known problem they will work on eventually .... 2 months ago! Looks like it hasn't been updated in a year.... Obviously customer service is job 99 over there! 😠

It's super glitchy if your team talks a lot in the group chat. It mixes up names or shows no name in the chat. My less chatty teams don't have this problem. I can't download pictures shared in the chat or in the pictures section. The app will glitch back to the main menu or just crash if I try to downloada pic. It used to not do that before the last update, so it's definitely a bug. The pictures shared also compress horribly. Other than those glitches, it's a decent app.

Depending on whether or not you have an iPhone or Android, the app shows home/visitor games described differently. It's hard to tell if your team is home or away when everybody is seeing something different. Also, i do not get notified of team messages. All permissions for notifications have been allowed. Otherwise, it's a helpful calendar of games and practices.

This app is great when it works. This is the second sports season we've used it, and suddenly about a week and a half ago it just stopped loading all chat information. I keep getting notifications that there are new things in the chat, but it just keeps loading and loading. My app is as up to date as it can be, cashe has been cleared. It just doesn't work anymore.

App works ok for seeing the game schedule summary but that's about it. I frequently get an error message when trying to switch between game details or from schedule to chat. I no longer have access to messages or photos. I came to see if maybe I was missing an update but I'm not. Kind of pointless to use an app and still have to rely on email for communications...app should be a "one-stop shop" kind of thing.

Constant connection errors and "Sorry! We're experiencing a temporary error. Please try again later." Meanwhile the ads always load up right away. Don't receive chat notifications for rostered team, and can't enable it in settings because the team doesn't show up as favorited, even though it has a yellow star. Frustrating and dreading battling this app for the entire season.

If I wasn't required to use for my kids's sports, I wouldn't use it. Tried registering for a holiday 3v3 tournament. I completed the entire process up to the payment screen. Click process payment, get sent back to the beginning of the process with all information gone. Find out, tournament was full, though no indication was given on the site. My son has two profiles, can't combine them, can't delete either one. Makes registering and tracking challenging. Not a player friendly app.

Meh, I have used both TeamSnap and SportsEngine. I have to say over all I like TeamSnap much better, it is a lot more user friendly. My biggest gripe with SportsEngine is that you can not actively keep score and the game clock at the same time. It makes it easier when you are looking for key points in a recorded game. The one thing I DO like about SportsEngine is that your club can go back and view the history of your games if need be for some reason.

Does not work any longer after Oct 3 app update. My sons league said many parents who are Android users have the same problem. It shows I have an existing account, I am listed as the player guardian but no matter how many times I am invited and accept the invitation to be added to the roster I still have no access. Very frustrating! I have contacted sportsengine with the issue in detail, only for an automated response to be sent with directions on how to be added as a guardian. Fix this!

I don't love it. I don't like that I have to have a different app for every sport each of my kids play, but that unfortunate reality has given me a chance to use several similar apps, like Mojo, Sport ninja, game changer, and I think I'm forgetting one. sports engine is on the bottom half. but, if you're a parent/player whose team uses it...good luck? it's not really *that* bad. if you are a league/team admin making the choice for a lot of people... pick something else.

This app is helpful in organizing games, practices, rosters, and various aspects of team sports. When the app works, it is a great tool. The app does have issues. I can upload photos and see the gallery of other photos, I just can't view them individually unless I clear cache/data and login again. Individual events (ie games, practices, etc) don't always update. Sometimes I'll get an update for some events, but not others. Samsung Galaxy S20+, Android 10

Pictures are not loading correctly. Whenever someone posts a new picture to our team chat, we can see the thumbnail in the chat, but the photo doesn't load when we click the thumbnail. Instead, the very first photo posted in the thread is shown. Also, I cannot see any new photos in the gallery. It is as if the thumbnail exists, but the photo itself is missing.
