Absolutely worth it. I average 300 Mbps down, 40 Mbps up, and 25 ms latency. We’ve run 2 PS4s, 2 PS5s, 2 TVs streaming, and 3 phones online at once with zero lag. Even in really bad weather, the worst I’ve seen is 60 Mbps download, still fast enough. For $120/month on the residential plan, it’s reliable, fast, and handles multiple devices with no issues.
Don't bother getting it for occasional use. The company is clearly hurting for cash because they keep arbitrarily "changing the deal" to screw me out of the original use case they sold me on. It hasn't even been a year and they completely reworked standby mode so now it has a monthly fee (was free before), and more recently they speed-limited it so the "unlimited low speed data" they allowed you on standby now doesn't work when traveling more than 10mph. Can't trust them.
I CAN NOT log into the app. I get a box that says, "user setup is incomplete, go to email." There is no email from Starlink. I'm so excited to have Starlink, but no one understands that I can't log in. I keep getting tickets that say, "go to the app. So very frustrating. Their customer service needs to improve. I've called 5 times, no callback yet.
Just want to mention how awesome of a product Starlink really is. I have a Gen2 Dish professionally installed on my work truck with a Roam plan, and it's incredible. Fast, reliable internet absolutely everywhere the sky is visible. Never drop phone calls from my end anymore, never. It's amazing. Well worth the cost. Edit: Oh and in my brief exposure to their customer service, that's been awesome also
Outstanding service, so far. The installation was pretty much as advertised. Plug it in, point it at the sky. That's about it, a simple setup on the router and you're set! The initial speed was slower than advertised, but Starlink does make it clear that it will take a day or so to fully aquire the satellites. With the router plugged into my desktop I regularly see 300-400+mbps download speeds! 150+ on wifi. It is an amazing system, well worth the cost in my opinion!
Not many complaints with Starlink. after about 6 months or so of using it. Sometimes it will buffer but corrects itself right away. streams Netflix and Hulu pretty well, along with PS5, PC gaming. I'm impressed. My biggest complaint is. The initial buy is expensive and Monthly I feel like it could be cheaper. I've noticed the options to roam or be stationary cost differently. used to be able to change it when we were moving the camper now it's not an option anymore? would be nice to save some $
I live in an area with very limited internet options. The best I could get was DSL, 15 Mbps down on a good day and less than 1 up. One device was fine; multiple devices meant problems. Starlink was a total game changer. Setup was incredibly easy, and performance has been phenomenal, 200+ down and 30 up. As a retired IT network professional, I highly recommend it.
highly recommend. we utilize this service with no issues. I do have one complaint that is customer service/tech support seems to be hard to communicate with. we had some issues in beginning setting up but now we are up and running for several months and its its great! we stream, gaiming and I work from home as a remote user and its been great!
Starlink works great, I live in a very rural area. 4 miles from town, 2 miles from even getting decent cell phone reception. Its very easy to set up, the chord that comes with the kit is very long, id say 40 or 50 feet. Im able to play online games on my Playstation like Call of Duty: Warzone , I can browse internet on the laptop, watch movies. I haven't experienced lag, or long buffering. Its great, if id known this before I would had gotten this a long time ago. 5 star stuff. Seriously.
This would be 4 or t stars but one feature is missing. If my phone isn't connected to the Starlink wifi, for example I'm at work, I'm unable to use features such as unpausing specific devices. I would like to be able to remotely pause/unpause specific devices that are connected to my home wifi. Other than this, Starlink is expensive but worth it compared to other options in the rural area that I live.
This was the best thing I ever did for Internet service! Frontier charging me $195 a month for a garbage connection that never went over 50 mg WHEN it wasn't down. Then I looked into Starlink and figured why not? No more outages, buffering, and no more "we'll send a tech to look at your problem within the next few weeks". It's great for everything from email to fast paced first person shooter gaming without a single drop in the 3 months I've had it up. Installing easy enough for a 15 year old!
As a senior female, I found the mini kit exceptionally easy to set up, it functioned immediately. However, I was unaware of the one-hour registration window, which unfortunately expired before I could complete the process. It is imperative to register the kit promptly. I also noted that the printed numbers are quite small, which posed a challenge for me. Please consider the needs of senior individuals when designing the print size for proof of purchase.
As easy as this was to get and set up and it's actually fast enough for streaming, gaming, and anything else. I don't understand how other companies have such an issue supplying internet in certain areas. Very impressed!! Also it only cost me $180ish to get the kit and it's $120 a month. I think that's very fairly priced. I know plenty of people that pay upward of $150 for basically dial up speeds (10Mb download) I get 100-200Mb easily wirelessly and even up to 300Mb with an Ethernet cord!
loving it. I live in a remote town, starlink is really the only option, and it's working great. my bill is higher than what I thought I was going too pay (I was under the impression it was a deal at $110 per month. but honestly even paying the $140 it's been great. 99% of our usage is WiFi and streaming cloud games works great... 8/10 I'd give it, occasionally it slows down, usually right when something important is happening in the game.In comparison it's far superior too anything in my area.
I've been using StarLink for almost 3 years and it has been a superb experience thus far. I've had only 2 outages over this period of time and the uptime has been reliable. I've had to get a recent replacement due to uncontrollable hardware issues; however, their human and AI support team were super helpful, responsive and dependable. They stuck with me throughout the whole process of my replacement and ensured my issues and concerns were fully resolved. I highly recommend this product👍🏽.
Amazing technology that provides a genuine high speed connection when others cant! Would be 5 stars if not for the lack of proper phone support so that things can be resolved in less than a week... But if you need fast internet in the middle of nowhere there is really no other option that can compare in terms of speed and latency (Latency is higher than terrestrial internet but usually low enough that you can still enjoy gaming)
Amazing! I had a falling out with my cable internet company Mediacom who turned into idiots so I couldn't deal with them anymore.. If not for this, I would have no internet. I didn't think it would be so simple.. It works incredible! I think it's actually faster. Keep up the great work guys. So happy to have options and not be stuck with incompetent cable companies anymore.
I would definitely recommend it. We are traveling in the RV and were just using our phone Hotspot, but we could only watch short videos, not many movies as they would buffer very frequently, making it not fun to watch, and we could not play any online games. We just got our Starlink standard, and it's like having great home internet. So far, we've used it with great success in SC, GA, & FL.
I paid my bill, it was pulled out of my account over a week ago and is not a pending charge yet I keep getting emails that my payment failed. says I still owe the due amount, cant get ahold of anyone in customer service. ive emailed, messaged through the app and attempted to call. Was able to talk to a robot that kept telling me to just make the payment again. No sir I will not. I've only been with them a month but looking for a new provider now.
I have had every type of internet from mobile cell tower, cable, telephone line, and broadband. Aside from fiber optic (which is unavailable in my area anyway), this blows them all out of the water. This is what true unlimited and true high speed feels like. And it feels good! Awesome, easy to use app that keeps you in the loop and helps you set it up is a breeze.
