EDIT: The bugs have been fixed, and the app is now working great! Abandon your other book tracking apps! I love this app. Way better than Goodreads in so, so many ways. I had to take a star off because, at the moment, the app is pretty glitchy. It will freeze, navigate incorrectly, and just generally be a pain. Still way better than anything else (Goodreads), but definitely needs more bug fixes.

This is 10000 times better than Goodreads! The design of the app is very sleek, it shows me stats about my reading (I LOVE stats) and it has very comprehensive reviews. The two only things that bother me a bit (not enough to lower the rating) is that it sometimes is a bit slow to load the screens (few seconds) and that it's a bit cumbersome to find the list of your read books. I'd also love if it worked offline but I understand it's not simple to do

I like StoryGraph BUT, it's lag time to open is killing me. I feel like is sit staring at a blank page for way too long. other than that this app is a delight to use instead of using Goodreads. I just wish the AI generated description of a book came second to the one the publisher made. I really don't care about AI generated feedback on a book.

This app is my favorite of all the different reading tracker apps that I've tried. There are no ads, for one thing. And the app is free. You can track what books you read and when, how many pages you read, etc. There are user-added trigger warnings with book reviews (authors can add them, too, but rarely do). There are also reading challenges and giveaways. My only suggestion is that you ca keep track of how long you read for along with what pages. And that a timer be added for that.

Love love love, but can be slow. I've been going through my TBR today and yesterday, and noticed that the app has been extremely slow lately, and completely freezing at times. Restarting my phone has not improved it, and it's not my internet. Other than that, I love this app. The graphs are fun, and I like getting insight into the types of books I read the most, how many physical books I read vs audiobooks, setting reading challenges, etc. And they add new features pretty often.

Worked great on my iPhone but things took a turn when I switched to my Samsung ZFlip 7. The scanner doesn't work so I have to click "use device camera" every time, which returns an error most of the time. I enjoyed this app a lot and have added over 250 books into my "owned" category. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and made sure it had all the necessary permissions active. Edit 1/5/2025: the developer response doesn't really address the issue of the scanner not working for adding books.

I've stopped using Goodreads and decided to switch over to Storygraph. I don't regret that decision and enjoy using the website. However, the app isn't very most user friendly and takes a bit to get used to and navigate. Also, there's quite a few bugs so I have to frequently close the app completely and say a little prayer before trying to attempt whatever little task I was trying to do. So I'll be uninstalling the app, but I'm going to keep using the website to track my reading.

app really needs to update importing options. I wanted to like this because I do like the concept of the figures and visualizations captured from our reading logs but the import feature is annoying. I have never used good reads nor do I intend to. So having to search for a guide on how the data should be entered (i tried emailing to request an example from storygraph directly & never heard back), then exporting my reads from bookmory to correct and it will not upload. need more options past one.

I really WANT to like this app but the UI can be incredibly frustrating. Certain things make absolutely no sense. For example, when adding a new book to 'read,' you have to click "add dates" then the when you go to add a date the obvious screen is for a reread date. Instead you need to click this tiny pencil to open the correct screen to add the date. Next updating the date you have click three times for each unit AND THEN you have to click "update" otherwise it deletes all your data.

The app is useful in the fact that it is pretty easy to catalog which books you own, yet adding another log to a book took me a while to figure out. I feel like the UI of the app deserves an update. After Response from Developer: Thank you so much for letting me know, I will be updating my books to have tags, so they can be in different lists! I am looking forward to updates that you make.

When it works it's great, but there have been a lot of issues lately with freezing or pages not opening. From the reviews it looks like this is perhaps a common problem that pops up quite frequently, which is unfortunate because I was hoping to switch from Goodreads to this instead and now I'm on the fence about whether that's worth the headache.

The app is decent, but the inability to browse an author's books in anything but alphabetical order is absurd. If I want to find other books by an author I like, I don't want to have to scroll through every story/essay collection that an author has ever contributed to. Goodreads works much better for this. As a software developer, I can't imagine this is even difficult to implement; the app already knows how many reviews a book has. Just add that as a sort option!

I love that Storygraph makes graphs out of the books I've read. It makes it very clear to me the books that I like and the books I should look for next. The recommendations are relevant, for the most part, but lean towards lesser-known books.. which I equally like and dislike. I've spent hours scrolling through this app, though, and overall, I'd say it's my favorite logging app.

I like having an app that isn't owned by Google or Amazon for this kind of thing, though being tied into Amazon's data does have advantages. The "percent read" function goes by all pages in the book, including endnotes, acknowledgements, & index. I want to know how far I am through a book for the main content because I often read new releases from my library with one-week turnarounds. This gives false percentages and can be confusing. I'm not reading the index, for example.

I love using this app to track my reading and what to read next. The way they do reviews based on characteristics about the plot, characters, and other elements are a great way to get to know a book before choosing to read it. The AI descriptions for a book personalized to my reading history has been so helpful to me in figuring out whether I'll like a book. This app has definitely gotten me to read more and now I have a pile of books waiting to be read!

I love this app! It gives me all the information I want when tracking my reading. Including the types of books, average pages, etc. I also really like the 'read next' feature since it helps me organize my tbr. The one critique I have is that I often have difficulties adding books to the database, which can be frustrating. Luckily I don't usually have to wait long for them to be added by someone else.

Storygraph is leaps and bounds ahead of its competitors. The algorithms actually help me find books that match my interests and moods, and the graphs are awesome for tracking what you're reading. You can sort and filter your TBR based on what you feel like reading in the moment. And the filters are meaningful, with genre, mood, pace, length, etc. I like this app so much that I started paying for it.

This has good organization for your reading material and has a lot of books preloaded into it. The problem is that if there is a book that they don't already have loaded, the system that allows you to load a new book is glitched and won't allow you to add it. I just have a separate list for books like that on a separate notes app, which is annoying. Otherwise, I chose this over Goodreads (don't remember why but there was a reason). Would recommend.

I love this app! So happy to have a Goodreads alternative, and one that feels like it was made for readers by readers. One thing I run into is that when writing a review, if it goes on longer than a paragraph or so, eventually I can't see what I'm typing, it won't scroll down. That could totally be something to do with my phone, though, so I don't hold it against Story Graph!

I am new to the app and will keep trying it with hopes of some improvements. Overall, it does the job of tracking my books and displays plentiful stats. The monthly summary and sharing report displays nicely. The hardest part has been entering previous books and navigating dates and formats. Once everything is entered, it should be ok moving forward. There's a bit of a learning curve as I find the navigation to be confusing.
