I've had the flow meter for a year and a half, and it has generally worked well. There was an issue encountered in January 2022 when Android updated, and the live data (current flow and unit temperature) quit reading. Stream labs updated the app in March, and the live data returned. The unit continued to record historical data (hourly/daily/monthly totals) during this period. The other thing to note is that the app and the water monitor WILL NOT WORK without an internet connection.
It basically works well. The cost to unlock history seems exorbitant. But one other issue I experience regularly is that it randomly (especially if you don't use the app for a couple days and then go into it) it freezes; and the only way to unfreeze it is to do a force stop via Android. Then it reinitializes. So there is a glitch in the app that I hope they can fix in a future version...
Nice simple app, however could be better if you could click on the hour and see how much was used during that hour. Also would be nice to see total of current/recent flow. Aka. Start a shower get out and see how much water was actually used just for it... Assuming no other water running in the house. Last suggestion to make this a 5 star would to be able to truly calibrate the device and app by something like filling a gallon jug, again assuming no other water is running and then use that measurement to calibrate flow rate as well as gallons used
Monitor Mediocre at best! # No any smart hub integrations! # No historical data (it worked for a month and now 5.99 / month!!! For just ability to see past one screen !!! ) # radius of the casing doesn't allow bigger then 1" pipe install New control units are better, but for $599!!! and 5.99/month there's many better options for less then third of that. After waiting years for their integration to be released to be able to shut my automatic valves it never happened. I'll be buying alternative.
This app worked great for 5 years now all of a sudden I am unable to select the home mode slow leak alert for the time period of 1 hour. It will let me select any other time. but when I select 1 hour it changes back to 1 minute. That is unacceptable and the next best "30 minutes" is unacceptable due to the water usage in my small apartment building. 1 hour is on the app and I wish to select it but it won't let me. I need a fix.
Without a doubt the most unreliable app I’ve ever had the displeasure of having to rely on. When I absolutely need it – like to close the valve or check a water leak – 90% of the time I get nothing but the splash screen, “fetching data,” or a blank white screen. Tech support only says “check the network” but meanwhile all other network-connected apps work w/o issue, including push notifications from this one. Device itself seems OK but the app is so frustratingly bad I wish I’d gone elsewhere.
I am a happy user of the unit for several years now. The unit is working as a charm. Recently a data exchange issue occurred between the unit and the app, caused bij the latest Google Android update (12). This has been solved and communicated adequately. Support is very much appreciated. 5 Stars for me.
After installing the app I had problem logging in for the very first time but after restarting my phone I could log in and setup the device. I was impressed with how easy it was to get the device installed and start monitoring. Im excited and looking forward to it. Hope device will not disappoint me.
New update is absolutely terrible and pretty much breaks the service. Had to unplug my streamlabs so I can use water in my house. Keeps saying there is a leak every few minutes even though there isn't one snd then the app crashes. Had it go off 3 times during my last shower. I don't know who is doing QA at Streamlabs but they aren't doing their job. Device was fine before the recent UI changes.
New app update makes the font size unreadable on my android galaxy flip z5. Update 2/27. Streamlabs got back to me with a nice reply. Because I choose a medium size font for my phone, it causes an issue with reading certain things in the app. For the time being I will live with it. Update on 4/25/24 corrected the issue I was having with my font size making things difficult to read.
Its a nice device! the hidden cost to get remotely Alerts which clearly does NOT illustrate on Amazon or through the App is fraudulent! Its serves very little purpose if you constantly have to monitor your phone! This has been addressed by others already with NO définitive answers ! Thats the reason for my Rating!
I have a 2k gallon water tank outside that is filled with city water. My tank gets filled every 2 weeks and im trying to monitor how much water is actually being used during that time. Problem is my tank isnt filled the first day of the month so trying to monitor a 2 weeks period, i have to add each day up to get a calculation of that period. Could you implement an update that allows you to select the time frame for the month to calculate custom schedule?
I'm out of the country. Got an alert about water pressure. Now the app just says "error has occurred." It won't load anything. Glad I paid extra for one of these things to monitor my house while I'm away. Their docs also say to reboot it. How am I supposed to do that from 6000 miles away?
Really cool! I just installed the home monitor version and it works really well. Super easy to install! The only thing I wish the app had was the ability to take on water rates and give you a projected bill.
Can't calibrate and no tech support. Device disconnected with WIFi and unable to re-calibrate. It takes forever to detect pipes and doesn't get past the water flow detection step. Support said they would mail a replacement. Nothing for 3 weeks. Called and left voicemails. No response.
When I purchased this product the company informed that they would be improving it in terms of features. They have done absolutely nothing since the product came out. I also own the Flume water monitor and there is no comparison. Flume has everything Streamlabs lacks. Streamlabs alerts are extremely limited and extressentially useless for my purposes. Streamlabs please at least copy your competitor if you can't create anything useful.
Without time settings this app is useless. My water softener regenerates every 10 days...the learning mode is only seven days so it never "learns" the softener flow and therefore shuts the water off every time. IF there was a time setting, I could set a time window when the softener is on...say every ten days at 2am. This along with an extended learning mode would make this app perfect. A time window would also be useful when watering the lawn. The Moen 900-001 Flo has a water softener option
What started out as a free service to look back at past years data is now a subscription service. This was not advertised when I purchased and greatly reduces the value of the monitor to me. Do not buy this product.
The support has been nonexistent. One would think paying for a rather pricey gadget and the subscription would at least get you a reply when things are going wrong, but I have yet to hear from the team.
As an installer of the system, I really wish you had a diagnostic app that can communicate with the valve. I have high-end homeowners who can never be at home with me when there is a problem. I installed a LOT of systems for Chubb insurance in Orlando.
