The ads are out of control in this game. Within the 3-4 minutes of completing a "hard" level, there will be up to six ad breaks. Developers responded about the need for ads to help pay but this is constant and throughout the game. I experienced that it was happening most times after completing a box or row. To the point that I was reacting and going out and coming back in to skip the ads.
Gameplay is fine, and they have plenty of challenging puzzles. The game loses stars due to occasionally interrupting gameplay for ads. I understand that the developers make money from ads, and having one pop up at the beginning or end (but not both) of a game is fine. Making you stop playing, usually disrupting concentration and flow, is not acceptable. I guess I have to continue my search for a good Sudoku game.
The game itself is fine as far as Sudoku goes, but you get interrupted with ads constantly as a "reward" when you clear a digit. Not only are the ads long and pervasive, but according to my carrier the app used over 400MB of data in just 3 days, presumably from those ads. That is simply unacceptable if you don't have unlimited data (which until 3 days ago, I didn't, and explains why my bill was so high until switching plans). last I looked it was $10 to remove ads, now it's $15. Crazy.
I have played this since it came out. in the beginning it was good, relaxing and helpful to start my day with brain function. over time it has become an ad nightmare. every time you complete a number you are forced into an ad, stopping your progress to where you were headed next in your brain. the ad can be skipped but most of the time it's still a wait before you can skip it. I will still login and play daily puzzle but really no need for so many ads.
way too many ads to rate higher. If you go airplane mode, your leaderboard won't load if that is how you avoid the ads. Per game of actual sudoku, I would get about 4-8 ads without even watching a video for a hint. The actual gameplay has good animations for solving puzzles, and the difficulty ratings do not have giant skill gaps, so most people can progress.
This could be a great game if I could get through a puzzle without 6 ads in a puzzle. 6 ads! in a single 4min puzzle! Update: After the developer response I can see clearly the developers are trying to placate without fixing the issue because fixing the issue means less money for them. If I could give this game 0 stars I would. I get it, you don't create these games to make no profit. If money is such a big issue, don't make it a free game. Bye Felicia!
The gameplay is fine, but the ads are inexcusably obnoxious. Given the length of the puzzles, I can understand ads between levels, but this game actually forces ads *during* levels when you start making momentum. This disrupts your concentration and takes away from the most fun part of the game. I can't recommend it.
too easy and too many ads. I dont even need to use the notes to complete an expert puzzle in under 10 minutes. Puzzles usually take me about 3-4 minutes, and with the ads being about 2-3 during a puzzle and one before and after, that's about an ad every minute. I understand the ads are there because the app is free, but some of the ads just immediately open a browser and then the app restarts when I try to go back.
The UI is nice and as far as sudoku games go there are plenty of challenging puzzles. The issue with this app is the insane amount of ads. Even when putting my phone on airplane mode, the game will turn data back on just to launch ads. Its ridiculous. There is an ad when game launches, when you start a puzzle, when you finish a number, when you finish a puzzle and then another ad if you start a new puzzle. And the price to remove ads is insane at $15 for sodoku.
Ruined by ads. I have played this game for hundreds of hours and understand the need for ads to make it viable, but from being an occasional short video the ads now take over your machine with no obvious way back to the game. The ads try and sucker you into playing a game nothing like Sudoku which is tedious and irrelevant. I have uninstalled this once great game.
ads make it unplayable. I'll get an intrusive full-screen ad with a false "x" button that only opens the app store every minute. It's especially annoying when it forces you to stop in the middle of a puzzle. train of thought gone, I can't remember what digit I was working on, much less what to do after I'm unceremoniously dropped back into the gameplay.
$15 to remove ads is crazy. as you play you get "rewarded" for completing a numbers set on a puzzle with an ad. sometimes you get over 4 ads on one puzzle. the scoring system in this game seems to make no sense. this game doesn't offer anything special and what it does offer that is extra is honestly a waste. the only part I see of events is the expiration screen. I dont need a notification to tell me there is a new daily puzzle, I know when it's a new day. looking for a better game now.
It pains me to write this review. I have downloaded this game and the sister app Killer Sudoku on my various phones throughout the years. This last phone, I got tired of the ads (there are so many) and paid for no ads. Happy for a couple of years. I just did my phone upgrade and I'm now finding out that my $15 charge does not transfer! Now on the hunt for a Sudoku app that I guess has login access so my purchases can transfer. It's not only the purchase, it's my progress too. 🙁
Way too many ads, it's not worth it. I could maybe tolerate ads in between puzzles, but the app literally interrupts each puzzle MULTIPLE times. The developer is responding to comments saying they're trying to find the right balance of ads, but let me tell you — interrupting a game that involves thinking, pattern recognition, and problem solving while tracking time? It's very poorly done. I recommend finding a different Sudoku app or buying a Sudoku workbook.
loved this app. I've placed in the top ten in tournaments several times. I never write reviews for these things either, so please take this seriously... the advertising has become FAR to aggressive, to the point of being unplayable. At first it was disruptive to concentration, now it's full on to much. The ad forces you into the play store. The only option is back out of the game entirely and restart it. Ridiculous!
I had this installed long enough for the ads kick in and then uninstalled it after slogging through three more ad-riddled puzzles. Having an ad or two between a completed puzzle and the next would be one thing, but also having a minimum of two or three mid-game ads interrupting what is supposed to be a relaxing game, frankly, ruins it. Also, having to pay $14.99 usd for ad removal is laughable. Skip this one and save yourselves the annoyance.
First came the ads. That's fine. Then came more ads. Then came the torrent of ads. Then they started "updating" the game with random, distracting, and pointless animations, and now the ads have gone to plaid, unkillable, mid move, and relentless. After many years of loyally using this app, they have finally pushed too far and I find myself looking for anything else. It's sad to watch things go bad. The juice stopped being worth the squeeze. Thanks for the past years of fun while it lasted. Boo.
tried this game tonight and liked it at first, but then I started getting ads multiple times in the middle of a game. it started to feel like punishment every time I cleared a number. not a good feeling . actually got ads that just loaded a black screen forcing me to close the app and start again. considered paying to turn off ads but the price tag of $15 is too much for a Sudoku game. Andoku sodoku isn't as pretty but works very well and doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I'll stick to that.
Didn't like that adds are constantly running at the bottom, where you have to press to get out of the app. If you manage to press the button of the screen to get out without hitting the adds app will not give the option to exit the app, need to manage it around to close it. Update. Reinstalled and in a few days it was imposible to play due to the adds constant interference.
I really liked this game. but for some reason. it got rid of the option to do the really big Sudoku's ones that have the letters and stuff. I really like that. Where did it go? This was really disappointing and frustrating. Edit:as of recently the ads now play during a game interrupting it for this is give 1 star i do not mind ADS, I understand their necessity. It should not interrupt the game though, after and before sure, but during no. Borderline unplayable, plus the pric for no ads is to much
