Nothing like the ads. It's like a week long game of risk, 1 click a day half the time. You get about an hour of playing the game then it takes entire days to accomplish single click actions. and that goes for all 30+ players in the match. in 2 days my area had hardly changed from when I started. if you are a fan of games that you perform one click per item per day, this game is for you. they advertised it like it was an active gameplay thing.....
It has so much potential as a game. Here's the problem. The developers are greedy, they want to make as much money as they can (you'd think they make a boatload off ads) so they made it pay to play. You can use flawless strategy and get blown out because some rich person decided to drop 200 on the game. This game really got ruined when stormtroopers came out. A troop you have to pay to unlock, available at a low level, and destroys everything. They are over 20$ so, don't have the money? too bad.
I like it, but I feel as though the aspect of being required to play offensively is dragging down the experience. I like playing purely defensively sometimes and after a while it becomes nigh impossible due to how the game works. resources start to run out no matter how many factories and workshops I construct, and I've seen this be the direct reason people lost- not for skill, but the game being seemingly built against purely defensive gameplay. Otherwise I love it, would love more.
A very well designed game. Not many complaints except that it has slowly become more pay to win over a couple years. Spending a month or more developing strategies and optimal play for someone with $500 to come in and wreck it Update: Went from 4 stars to 3 stars. They've been having constant server issues so bad that 9/10 times you cant log in for hours at a time. This has been going on for weeks
If you're a game developer and want to learn how to take a really good game and make it regress this is a good blueprint to follow. Game was better before everyone started buying their armies instead of building them with strategy ruined the game. Pretty sure I'm done playing as now it's just who spends the most. If I could give it a lower rating I would.
If you want to keep up with everyone expect to pay $35 on their two MONTHLY subscriptions. They even made it so there is a troop you won't be able to build without getting enough achievements and paying $20 for. If you dont want to "earn" the right to build that troop you can get it for $50. I will say even with the cost it is a really fun real time risk board game. I have played the world war three version and this one is more fun because of how simple it is.
I downloaded this game about 3 weeks ago, and invested about 60.00. I honestly didn't spend enough, because I lost! the game play was good, and the concept was excellent. Unfortunately, a lot of other reviews are correct. if you want to win in this game, you have to buy resources. And that's the way it is. the game is geared toward warfare you need to upgrade a factory to build "x". but there is no way to upgrade resource production. except buy it. and that is a shame.
I love this game but hate how much it fails. I've been playing a long time (years). lately the server failures are so bad I'm trying to convince friends to not quit the game altogether. no way to contact support about it. no refunds of gold lost/wasted on games I lose because of server outages. new dev company constantly has their hand out for money but can keep the server online for even 24 hours.
it is now a pay for play game. I've played for 5 years and I am fixing to quit because it is no longer a game of strategy but who spends more. I get the game needs to make money but nearly every game is now infected with these unhonorable weasels who simply cant win through strategy but through spending on upgrades. I have also been stuck at a level 19 player for years with no where to go. you would think there would be a reward for loyalty. guess not.
I love this game. It is an excellent concept. The only thing I find wrong is the fact that it is absolutely a play to win game. I have been playing for almost a year and have been in many different games. Every single game I have played there is always someone that grows their country way faster than possible. I have come in second once but that's only because I teamed with someone who was paying to win. As long as you don't mind playing a time consuming and money drawing game I say go for it...
The stormtrooper drop brought in inabilities to load in. We get errors loading the game. Often times it's for hours! The game discord is littered with people also having this problem. Make your game playable and it's 5 stars. I don't even care that's it's sometimes pay to win. (I'm a 3 year veteran, this problem of not being able to load the game has never been this bad.)
This is an excellent game, Ive played for almost 2 years and have had a blast in strategically defeated enemies. However, I dont like the storm trooper idea, it costs a fortune to unlock them and I just dont have the money to spend on a video game. I also am an early game player so there are more countries to choose, when there are 7 games open or even one time there were 23 100 player maps open I end up starting by day 2 and im surrounded by already industrialized countries. still, great game!
Amazing potential for the game. Multiple units, buildings and resource management as well as great combat make it a fantastic strategy game. Unfortunately too many options to bypass strategy and pay to build things instantly. Takes resource management, troop movement and general strategic choices completely out of the game. The building blocks of the game are elite, but the pay to win ability completely sidetracks strategy.
Pay to win. You can spend IRL $ to buy resources and instantly speed up production. Once you understand the basics, it's just a game of which player will spend the most money to win. It crashes a lot. The UI FREQUENTLY deselects units or undoes complicated orders forcing you to close the game, reopen it, and reissue the orders. There are "rewards" you can use in future games that allow you get an unsurmountable advantage against other players, completely removing any kind of sense of achievement
The game itself is fun and runs well. It promotes strategies and working together, but there is a major issue that they sweep under the rug and are dismissive if you go to their support line. No matter what server you join, you will run into at least 1 pay to win player. It's unavoidable. The game can take months to complete 1 round, but my latest server has someone claiming half the world in 7 days. It sucks the life out of the game and makes it unplayable. Why spend months to get rolled by 💵
Love the game. I've been looking for a game like this for ever. Played 3 months and got hooked. Just played a game where it felt like someone was cheating because their troops were not dieing when I attacked. Turns out you can spend real money to make your troops invincible. Whats the point? I can understand paying to be a member that gets better accessible tools in the game or even paying to remove adds but making it to where you can pay to have invincible troops? Whats the point of playing.
Love the game, have a bunch of hours on it. However, lately the game is ALWAYS undergoing "maintenance" or a "bug issue". It's gotten to be more common lately as I've had this issue at least 3 times this week alone. and the game won't be accessible for hours. This issue has actually made me lose several rounds simply because I couldn't log on.
I really want to love this game, but it's too slow for me. For a game to feel satisfying enough to keep using, I'd like to feel like the in-game time was productive. And though your armies build over time automatically, the amount of resources it takes to maintain them costs more than you make. Auto-Resource production needs to be improved and the production/travel times need to be decreased.
I'm having persistent issues with launching the game. I'm getting a cloud fare screen that specifically says the issue is on call of war's end of things, as well as an android error screen. it's happened a few nights in a row, now, and has happened tonight for about an hour and a half. All the other apps on my phone are working fine. As for the game itself: I'm quite enjoying it. The user interface is kinda of a pain, and takes some getting used to. Slow, but fun strategy game.
Nice and Simple game to play. It took me only 10 minutes to understand the game. But it needs more unique units in the game, I know you guys are trying match the units with the timeline. But honestly you can go further with it. I think you should be able to build Landmines in your city, which then you can add a sapper unit that can reduce the damage a mine field can do. You can do MORE
