SymboTalk - AAC Talker

update to my review: pretty good for basic features, although i wish there was a few extra things: - option for custom voice speed and pitch. the default voice is hard to change and i cannot get it to speak slowly. - a button that shows all the symbols added onto the sentence bar. the default is too small for 4+ symbols in portrait, and the boards dont work for me in landscape - also related to symbols, a specific number selector for the size of the board instead of predetermined sizes

Been awesome so far, I actually trained my parrots to use this app to communicate what they need to reduce the amount they scream and frustrations relating to not being understood. After a year of use, I can no longer add new boards or images without them disappearing even when I save. I will uninstall and reinstall to see if that fixes the problem, just worried I'll have to remake all my boards again. If there is a fix please let me know! Cheers

I'm running into a problem when I sync the content between two devices. Content created on one device does not show up fully on the other (seemingly random). It creates placeholder items (you can tell something is there but you cant select or edit it). If you are aware of this issue, help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Love the program.

I'm really struggling to move new symbols to existing boards on my android. I have tried long pressing on the symbol to copy and paste as directed but it doesn't give me any options to copy at all. Please make it more user friendly for android phone users please. Other than that it is a great app. Thank you.

I found the instructions to be quite confusing so deleted when I found there was a subscription if you want to edit the basic setup.

This app is clunky and keeps moving things around when I try to edit. It has no universal core words such as "this, it, put, here, there, mine" etc., which makes actually forming sentences very difficult without extensive editing

I use this app as a very capable backup for my daughter's Tobii communication device. It works great. One small change I would like to see is the addition of realistic children's voices since it's being used for a child.

No luck adding personalized symbols. I've tried to add "yogurt" to the food group no less than three times and it's not there. I've closed and reopened the app: not there.

Wish there were a way to make the options bigger! Very hard to navigate on a phone with a non verbal, special needs child trying to use it to communicate.

Would have loved to give this 5 stars as the app has been amazing however over the last couple of days the app has stopped displaying some of the icons which is making it hard to use. A real same as it was such an amazing tool.

Symbols may be too complex for younger children. Deleted due to lack of personalisation like images, text and audible etc. Would be useful for older ages perhaps

Starting to glitch keeps deleting images and not letting me replace them again. Had to reset all the data and start again. Now having issues logging in consistently. So disappointed as i loved this app

Hi app is great.. I'm facing a small issue in recording. I am not able to play back the recorded voice.. i want to use my own voice for symbols rather than system generated

Was a great tool untill it started glitching amd won't let me delete tiles anymore. Taking away all functionality after a lot of effort and time being put into making the perfect boards

So far so good. Can add subfolders and can use photos from my gallery to add to my board of symbols/words :) Thank you so much developer!

Very easy to set up and customize. Syncs across all family devices.

Easily one of the best AACs I've found thus far. Ease of use and customization is high.

Pretty useful I wish the letters were bigger. But it's useful because people can understand me.

Found it complicated and limiting, wasn't what I was looking for but I'm sure its helpful for others.

This is an awesome app that is customizable for each user even down to two choices at a time with real pictures.
