Does exactly what I need it to do and much more customizable than I thought it would be (there's instructions that pop up as you click around). I also like that there's different sound effects to signify whether you're going into a rest or going into an exercise, makes it easier to keep track of where I'm at without having to constantly stare at my phone. You can also control how loud the sounds are, which I appreciate.
This app is so flexible it's tricky to figure out all of the options and get setup, but once you understand it,, WOW! I wanted something to quickly step through PT exercises after knee surgery. Post surgery PT is critical to "successful" repairs. This tabata timer let me automate the entire set of exercises. I start it and it steps me through them from start to finish. the time for work and rest periods can be edited. Thanks for helping recover!
The parameters are highly customizable, so it's a workout timer app with Tabata functionality and presets. For example, my workout is too challenging for the full 8 rounds, so I made it only 5 rounds, but 2 sets, with a five minute rest in between each set. Ads are annoying, but they only happen when your workout is done, and it's a free app, so that's the price you pay. Excellent free app.
This is just so much better than trying to work out with a stopwatch. I paid for the full version so I could create my own workouts and it takes a little bit of getting used to but but once you figure it out it's an absolute diamond. I now use this for all of my high intensity workouts because it is customizable, keeps track of everything I need in a HIIT workout, and gives me great audio/visual feedback without me having to do anything once I start it. I fully recommend this. 😎 5⭐
I have used this timer on two different phones and it is perfect. Other reviewers are HIIT athletes. I am the opposite, almost 80 with medical issues. I use the app for needed mobility exercises as well as slowish cardio. The timer lets me focus on the exercise or stretch instead of counting, and keeps me honest! The feature of being able to name each exercise has replaced those sheets of paper from PT and notes taken from the internet Thank you, Eugene, for doing a great job.
very easy to set up a custom workout including sounds, time, intervals, rearranging interval order, etc. Easy to see timers and what's next while doing workout. doesn't interfere with listening to Audible. Well worth the money for the premium subscription! I haven't used it much but I have encountered no bugs. note to developer: I had 95% decided to buy premium just as a reward for your telling me about the "make and manage phone calls" permission, which is really just READ_PHONE_STATE!
I'm discovering a new perk every time I use it. This timer is a workout saver for sure. Filling it out is quick and I really enjoy not having to think about which leg or arm I'm on. I'm not tech savvy AT ALL and it's simple but has SO many options. thank you for a great product! update: Bought the premium version because I'm ready to stick with this one for forever. I switched phones and the "export workouts" was SUPER handy. I can also share mine with my friend who now has the app too.
Simplistic but good. The timer sounds work through headphones without being deafening. Building a workout can be a bit cumbersome (hence the simplistic part), but once you get the hang of it, it becomes quite easy. The free version isn't great, can only save two workouts and I couldn't remove the default, so I could only save one. Lifetime access to premium is very cheap and well worth the minor investment of less than $10. Perfect for building your own HIIT circuits.
I'm just learning how to set up my own tabatas and timed workouts, and this has been user friendly for the month or so I've had it. The free version only allows you to save two workouts (and you have to delete the usage tutorial to save a second), but that's all I actually need for what I'm doing so far, and you can create still create workouts beyond those two even if you can't save them.
Great app! You customize your workouts. It keeps you on track and sounds a bell to for each transition without having to look at your phone. However, if you forget your headphones the app will change colors for each transition as long as you keep it in your peripherals. I don't understand some of the set up, but haven't searched for help either. I just change it until I get the timing I want.
Good app. Had it for years now. Build all of my costume workouts and yoga practices in this app. I particularly like the text-to-speech feature. Instead of looking at my phone I just listen for what my next exercise/pose is supposed to be. Also I like the tempo feature. It reminds me to control the moment of my exercise as well as the repetitions. Like that it was a one time payment instead of a subscription as well. Worth the price.
Flexibility + ease of use can't be beat. I've tried different apps. First a timer for running called "Couch to 5K," but intervals were hard-wired, couldn't be changed. Tried a stopwatch, but no audible signal, also complicated to program. This app was the third try and I am super happy with it. Does what it says and does it simply & perfectly. Time to switch to the paid version - not that the free version isn't perfect, more to reward the developers for a job well done.
I've been using this app for a couple of weeks and was impressed. It is super flexible and much easier to use than other timer apps. (I was using Flex Timer by GynNext and it is very clunky and not as user friendly) It is easy to personalize as well. Lots of settings that are easy to find and use. I paid for the app after trying it and found it to be very inexpensive. I purchased the year subscription. I would suggest the developer add an option to display heart rate monitors.
Love it! I went for the paid version because I wanted the configurable options. And wow, there are tons of them. Love the fact that you can add your own sounds, although I haven't yet because there were a lot of fun sounds to choose from in the app itself. I tested whether or not I can run this alongside my Amazon music, which is very important to me. And it works wonderfully. (If anybody out there knows how to easily silence the halfway sound, I would love to know that).
I wanted to start an interval training program so I searched the Play Store and found Tabata Timer. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. This app is apparently capable of doing many more things than I need, but for my needs, it is perfect. It took me a little bit to figure out how to set up my Intervals, but once I did, it really is easy. I like that you can name each workout and put an icon on your home screen so you just hit the icon and start your workout.
Easy to use and the best HIIT/Tabata timer I've found. I even felt it was worth it to buy the app so I could have full features forever, and that was after already having the free version for over a year. I also use it to manage group workouts (while simultaneously playing music from my phone), which takes the pressure off me to keep my eye on the clock. I also love that it was created by an individual developer who cares about the app he's created. Thanks for creating a great timer, Eugene!
The best free HIIT timer! All of what I need: customize the amount for rest, work, cycles in a set, sets, and rest in between sets. In addition, it gives me the total time of the customized settings so that I can change it if I have more or less time to work out. It works with my phone settings for volume & vibration. The color change between rest & work also helps. I didn't check if the color is customizable but I'm happy with green & red.
This app has been working great for me for a few years, and I recommended it to multiple friends. Developer please: recently noticed that I can no longer connect to HealthConnect / Google fit / Fitbit, which used to work. I did some googling and found that an app needs to meet certain Google security guidelines otherwise will be blocked from assess, and there's no way around it -- I can disallow apps to access my data if they meet the security guidelines, but cannot allow apps if they don't.
So awesome to be able to focus on the workout and not the timing of it. And when I need to put in new workouts, it's a nice way to prepare and get in the mindset. After just a couple days, it became obvious that I should pay just to be able to have more than 2 workouts saved. And the paid price is really reasonable, especially for the mental load it takes off to be able to really focus and work hard.
So far so good. I have recommended it to my students as it is easy to set up and change the sets, work and rest periods. It also gives you the total time up to so you can see how long your workout will be. I would givebit another half star and rate it at 4.5. The only part that was hard to figure out was how to play your own music with the timer bells.
