THE REVIEWERS ARE CORRECT. I'm a regular user of AliExpress, so I thought I could handle Taobao. Nope! It's nearly impossible to create an account, nearly impossible to verify your account, and completely impossible to stay logged in to your account. The app forces you to log in over and over and over, making it impossible to do ANYTHING. They have also removed the English language option, even though they still advertise it in the screenshots. I'm uninstalling this app because it's unusable.
Its unfortunate, I wanted to give this a try but its very hard to register. I dont mind having to use my phone to translate, the problem is some of the registration screens dont allow you to translate them. They are still easy enough to figure out but even when you make it past those pages, you get stuck in a loop of register/log in. I thought trying it on PC would be better but, even there I was having issues completing the registration.
Despite the app received tons of negative reviews, decided to give it a try. Oohs ... The majority app users are right! The Taobao app repeatedly asks the user to login again and again, uninstallation is on the way. How many times does a user need to re-login just for browsing? From downloading the app to starting browsing, I login more than 5 times.
Good luck trying to use this app without losing your sanity. Besides the lack of the option to change to system language to English or any other language, this app constantly prompts you to log in to use any of the feature. Once logged in, the app will constantly prompt you to re-log in again and again and again. Imagine this. Every few seconds. You can't browse without having to stop every few seconds to log back in so you can save your items or view items.
It's pretty satisfying and cheap. Only thing is though they ask you to sign up over, and over,and over, to the fact you can't use the app without signing up. I had trouble getting the verification code, it like doesn't work or didn't send to me. There is also no English, so I can't understand, I needed to keep screenshoting and then translate it. I had 48 things in my cart, but once I did that, they kept asking me to sign up and have a passport ID or STUPID verification code. Use app until fixed

I've been using this app for about a month, and the options are good. However, my main issue, and I think that of many others, is repeatedly being logged out of my account or flagged for risk. This makes no sense, as I haven't purchased anything yet; I'm only browsing. Additionally, there is still no option for English speakers; everything remains in Chinese. I have made 2 accounts so far and I've been kicked off both.
Pretty good, me and my friend find things that would go for 20 - 50 dollars on eBay for sometimes 6 - 50 dollars. Although just one issue, it's very hard to get though when you just want to browse, as your constantly asked to sign up, I can understand and I think it would really be useful if they added a feature to change languages (specifically to English)
impossible to log in or create an account, whichever i was doing, because the log in and sign up pages are the same thing. it required me to submit a photo of my passport, but before i could do that it asked me to download and make an account with another app i've never used... you can't use the app at all unless you're signed in, not even to browse, so the entire experience was a massive waste of time and effort
Too fustrating, dont bother in US Keeps asking me to sign in ever 2 seconds. I used Google to translate my screen because their language options are horrible, but having to sign in every 5 seconds made it impossible to use. I bet my entire order the customer service is just as bad. only responses to reviews are generic "we'll look into that, sorry for the inconvenience. " yeah right, you've already lost several customers.
I downloaded Taobao a while ago and then decided to re-download it. The selection is great but they NEED to fix whatever is going on with their account issues. I logged back in with my number and then after looking at stuff for a while it kicked me out saying I have too many accounts which makes no sense! I kept trying to log in and it kept kicking me out. It's super annoying and frustrating so I have to delete this app.
I've ordered several things from this app. Yes. It does take about 45 days to get it, but it's worth it. I love this app. I have probably spent about $3k ordering products on this app. Never any issues. Merchants are friendly. Some speak English. The challenging part is that you have to pay for the product to get shipped to a warehouse in China and then pay to get the goods to get shipped on a boat. But I feel the last two orders i made, they have enhanced the app, so it's much easier now. *US
this is the worst shopping app I've ever tried in the 64 years of my life. I did not find it easy to navigate in this app because they took off the English language section, yet they still advertise it in their ads, talk about a load of garbage!! I really do not recommend using this app to buy you're things because sometimes, no actually most of the time the shipping fee costs more than the item that you're buying itself.
I bought an item and waited one month for it to be undelivered. It was marked as delivered in the Taobao app. which in fact it was not delivered at all. Good luck trying to message admin to request a refund of which I will loose the entire shipping costs plus it is now left to the descresion of the shop for a refund. Waiting, waiting, waiting. If you like giving your hard earned money to maybe, maybe not receiving your bought items, then this is definitely the App. for you.
Beware of the airfreight shipping. The shipping costs more than my 3 items with a total of 17kg combined. SGD100+ Apart from the shipping, if you were to buy cheap items and they arrived damaged, you cannot return or refund easily. if you wish to return it, the shipping fees will again be more expensive than your items. I had spent maybe few thousands on this app. but recent issues are forcing me to rethink my shopping options. I am deleting this app after I received my last order.
This app is just misleading trash. It is in English for most of the interface and for purchasing.... Until you need help. then everything is in Chinese. It is misleading, it is NOT fully English. Customer service is completely Chinese. Chat with seller for help is Chinese. and they ignore you if you type in English. Twice already they have sent me completely wrong items, and return/refund is impossible. Return address is in Chinese characters that nobody here can understand or write.
the app updating about items is very slow. Not everything is in English. the app shows it's delivered, but I haven't received it, there's no "not received" option. it's my first order and quite disappointed. delivery is slow it will take around 1 month. the delivery fee is too expensive compared to other platforms like Shein,Shopee,Lazada. when products you received damage or wrong, so inconvenience to return/refund. when they refunded the delivery fee is already deducted. Simply disappointed.
BUGGY. Always have to log-in; Product is unavailable even when listed as in-stock; Stock is non-existent following a tap, but appears in different product postings when you look for similar products. Just hire a reliable team to do your app. Just like Temu, you'll do great anyway. Everyone is a sucker for cheap products. So just do away with reliable developers and marketing teams.
why can't I purchase some items when the language is changed to English??? what a stupid app. not very cheap also as it has GST , tax and transaction FEES. NOT a better option than shopee anymore. I mean LOOK AT THE SHIPPING FEES?? $5 for a small item?!?! +GST?? what a money grabbing app. AND SEA SHIPPING TAKES 3WEEKS. NOW THE search order page under (ALL) always glitches whenever I scroll it will take me to the top or skip pass many items

I received the vacuum broken with missing parts and was unable to return it. Customer service asked me to arrange return shipping, but the cost was four times the price of the vacuum. They required two quotes, which was very troublesome to obtain. After approving the return and promising a callback within 48 hours, no one called. A week later they asked for the quotes again. Over 100 messages just to get a refund. Worst experience ever.
I don't speak Chinese but it's so easy to set up and start using. All you need is a translator/AI! I love shopping on this app. The recommended algorithm works amazing, the UI is so seamless, love that I can store size measurements and get guidance on size selection, great tracking system, and the sellers are always so quick/friendly. Filling out the refund form and batch ordering is complicated, but not too bad for how amazing the experience is otherwise! Refunds are quick once processed too.
