TeamSnap: manage youth sports

This app is terrible and even worse if you don't get rid of the ads. But since all the teams use it, we're stuck with it. Even with the apps, it's constantly freezing, having to restart, getting black screens so you have to restart the app. Even after clearing cache reinstalling. Oh and even after paying to remove the ads, you just get alot less, but still get some.

I can't see messages (blank screen with the heading at the top) can't see event details after I click it in the calendar (blank screen with heading at the top). But guess what, the ads still load! I had nothing but problems last year, tried clearing the cache reinstalling, etc and it never worked. I guess they haven't bothered fixing anything this year either. What a horrible company.

The ads in this app are out of control! And as parents, we have little to no control over which app we can use to view our students' events. This monetization scheme is hot garbage. I'm not paying for an ad-free version; that should squarely be on the team management user. Plus the app is full of bugs, has very little in the way of design, and defaults to making all personal information as public...privacy is "opt-in" later.

Maybe it's just an android thing, but I don't get the alerts or emails that are posted to the team. My wife, that uses an apple, gets them all... I have un-installed, re-installed, cleared cache etc... says I have 5 new messages, when I don't have any... the pop up ads come up after every touch of the screen! Just annoying. Will be pushing for our team to use a more useful, reliable app.

So frustrating. I have used teamsnap for a while and have multiple teams on my account. One team in particular, suddenly has two team chats. One that can only be accessed from the notification drop down. The other chat is accessed from the app itself. It's extremely annoying. The messages from the notification drop down cannot be accessed from the app, so they're just hidden until a new message is sent. I reached out but was only told they would work on it. Nothing.

This is a very useful app to have for sports teams, it allows you to send messages, view practice times, communicate with your coaches and players and keep track of live scores from teams. However, it is incredibly glitchy and terribly programmed. The individual message feature is completely useless for me, I get notifications of the messages on my email. When I open the teamsnap app they do not load at all under any circumstances. Messages and notifications are routinely delayed by days .

Been using Teamsnap for years , multiple teams, both parent and coach. Platform is the best around. However, there is problems. Manually refreshing the app to get current info is the major issue. Sometimes chats don't load til way later. And of course, price. As a coach of around 40 kids, I have to pay at least $16 / month to use this app and I still get bombarded with ads. This app should be more like $5 a month.

App used to work flawlessly on Android but over the past year it has been awful. Crashes, glitches, ghost messages, messages that cannot be read but notifications say are there, you name it, it doesn't work. Have worked with the developers and nothing they suggest helps. If they can fix these it would be a 5 for convenience but I can't count on it as a coach.

I purchased a year subscription for over $100, only to learn it only applies to 1 team! Any other team I created, even for the same sport, I'd need to pay that subscription AGAIN! Also, while it it easy to buy a subscription in the app, cancellling is impossible. You need to log in on a desktop computer. And, if you don't log in and cancel, they auto renew all your teams! It is very "scammy" in my opinion.

So frustrated. Can't open chats. Just loads and loads and never shows the chats. Today during a spotty storm didn't know whether or not practice was cancelled. I have several notifications, but when I click... Endless loading. Tried the Web version. You can't chat over the Web. I am totally in the dark for a team I pay way too much money for!

1. Users aren't given the option to delete a chat group or leave a chat group within a team. Please add this feature!!!!! The long list of chat groups that I no longer need is really annoying. 2. THERE IS A BUG. I continue to receive notifications of pictures and messages from old chat threads of teams we're no longer members of. 3. Messages disappear as I'm typing them. Before I click send and without leaving the app (shouldn't matter), messages disappear.

TeamSnap used to be the go-to app for team management and communication. We loved it so much that we would willingly get the paid version. The paid version might have a small ad ticker on the bottom, but there was nothing too obtrusive. Now, TeamSnap has become greedy. Not only do we pay, but we must now have our screens taken over by an ad, even in the form of a video, before we can continue. I look at messages and then switch to the team's schedule and BAM time to watch an advertisement.

Terrible app. Only using it because I have to. The login process is terrible, and the only option is to add a team. Which I thought would search for a team. So now I've created a team. And there's no way to delete it! The FAQs are written for a non-monile version of the app, and make no sense for my phone (e.g. hover over the menu). And there is no link in the app to contact anyone for help! I wish it were more user friendly than it is... and designed for a mobile device.

The ads in the app are absolutely horrible and out of control. It's impossible to see pertinent data without scrolling through no joke 5 ads. The most infuriating one is when you try to exit out of the app and it splashes up a full page ad. Look, I get it, you need ads to support the platform. But the amount of ads is ridiculous. You can subscribe to an ad free version, but $2/mo is pretty steep. Make it a one time $10 payment or something reasonable. $50 a year for two adults is way too much.

Do not bother paying extra for the "ad-free" version, I have tried multiple times over the years I have been forced to use this lame app and it never works long-term. I have spent hours of my life testing their software in production. Taking all their suggested steps and providing feedback. Sometimes it would work, for a while, but then there would be an update and what do you know, the ads are back. Now there are even "full screen" ads, not just the banners.

Second Update: Constant "under heavy load" error in app and website. New season, same issues. Update: Doesn't do well with multiple teams. They disappear and reappear randomly. Old teams that were deleted on a desktop never really get deleted in the app. Crashes all the time. Can't handle weekends with so many users. When it works it's great, but that's never when you need it.

The new payment function is terrible. I do like the option to send invoices and resend, but it's ridiculous to have the WePay notification if you don't want to use it. You should have the option to turn it off. I've already had a parent use it in error. You also don't have the option to remove/edit invoices or remove/add players from invoices. There needs to be an edit function to make it more functional. I'm regretting spending $99.99 on this plan.

Borderline impossible to speak with a real person. They have no phone number to call and you can't even speak with a real person unless you're looking to buy. There are plenty other platforms that have a better experience for the same price. Will not use TeamSnap again until they can figure out how to assist people that have already paid for the app.

Annoying. I use this because it is what my kids sports teams have decided to use. The ads are obnoxious so I tried to pay for the ad-free version but there seems to be a problem confirming the subscription. There is also a problem with chats loading. I go to the chat and there's nothing in the list. I have to select something else like emails and then go back to chats for the messages to appear. It's very annoying to have to do this workaround almost every time.

In the past week or so, the app has been extremely sluggish. There's quite a delay between clicking on something and it responding to that click. My phone is fine otherwise, so it's just this app. Plus, an ongoing problem I've had is I get a notification about a new comment in the team chat, but it won't appear right away in the team chat window. I have to remember to go back in later and read it once it finally appears.
