Teamviewer used to be great but not any more. I've used for over 10 years. They have made is so difficult for personal free use. Over the last several years my account keeps getting flagged for commercial use. I've only used this for personal use and never commercial use. If you look online you will see several other users have this same issue. It's annoying to keep having to request my account be unflagges for commercial use. I have now moved on to use RustDesk which doesn't have this issue.
10 years ago I could easily remote control all my devices at home while out for the day. Never had to bring them with me. Now every option including this one, either doesn't work when needed, or wants someone sitting at the home device to accept a request or provide a code. It's been a real regression for personal use and all centered around business use.
Even login doesn't work anymore... Update 02/27/26: After clicking the login button, the app redirects you to a website to sign in. After entering the correct login information, it takes you back to the app — but you’re still on the same screen with the login button. This creates an endless loop, and you can’t actually log in. There is no (error) message.
Incredibly frustrating. It signs you out constantly, and everything you do "requires an account". Even when I am signed in, some functions like remote control will still prompt me to sign in because it "requires an account". Clicking "Keep me signed in" does nothing. If you manage to start remote control, it's not too bad, but good luck connecting to a remote device. Edited: now the bot verification won't verify me. I've clicked countless squares with busses, and bicycles and can't log in.
Back in the day, teamviewer was the way to go for remote access. But somewhere along the way they started falsely accusing me of using it commercially when I've never used it commercially. So instead of allowing them to continue to falsely accuse me and harass me with pop-ups, I switched to VNC and chrome remote desktop. Both free. Both can be used on mobile too. Life has been so much better and less stressful. Explore your options. Teamviewer isn't the only game in town.
PLEASE FIX THE LOGIN PROCESS!!!! I still have to re-login often even though remember me is checked. Even after entering user/password, the activating teamviewer screen stays spinning for a long time. It can sometime takes a few force stops and re-entering user/password to get this thing working...the previous version worked great...this one, well, barely works without tons of hassle.

works great, but if you use it a couple of times from mobile, they close your connections as "commercial use detected." They will deny any requests to unlock, as it isn't for commercial use. It shows when you can reuse it for another 2 minutes (really more like 45 seconds), but even that timer just keeps going up. So I'm just using until I can find something better. Sadly, I used to use this many years ago when the free option was viable.
The remote tech support tool I used to rely on has become unusable. They now force you to create an account and the user experience is awful. My mom and I wasted half an hour trying to connect, the WiFi connection kept dropping, and she was bombarded with prompts to install unnecessary add-ons. In the end, it stopped working entirely, displaying a barrage of confusing error messages. Incredibly frustrating!
Excellent tool, but horrid unfair policies. Cannot remote connect to a down level PC, even if just one major release down. If there is nobody physically at the remote PC to update it, then your only option is to get a paid license which requires a one year commitment of over $500!! And the cancellation terms are draconian. Paid licenses can connect to down level PCs. Yes, auto update can be configured, but what if you forget and are 1000 miles away?
After a decade of personal use, the powers that be decided I was actually using their product commercially, cutting off access to my personal computers to thirty second intervals every couple of minutes. The appeals process for this is ridiculous. And there's nothing really beyond that you can do. It was great when it worked, but this sucks. Really sucks. So I use Splashtop now.
I used this for many years to connect to my PC from my phone. It mostly worked, though frequently needed to be restarted because the screen would stop updating. Recently I started getting a "commercial use detected" pop up trying to extort me for a ludicrous $50.90/month, so I was forced to find another solution. Do not recommend this "free" app.
It's not 100% free for personal use. I have had it for 3 months and us either for my phone, laptops, etc. After the 15th connection, it says I needed to upgrade to the paid version. It also has a lot of lagging, and the screen is small to troubleshoot. For the paid version, you best off going with ODOO or Zohoo One. You get more for your money.
Worked great for years, worthless now. Won't let me connect multiple times or for more than 30 secs. Says they detect commercial use, but I use it on my personal PC to troubleshoot security/camera system. Reached out to support several days ago to resolve and no response. Uninstalling and going to better alternatives (chrome, etc.). I'd recommend staying away or else you'll be left with a useless solution.
This app has gotten significantly more buggy and less reliable since I started using it a few months ago. I have to log in again every single time I open it, my managed devices disappear from my list seemingly randomly. Some days it's there, other days it's gone, which is most of the time. Everytime I finally have access to my server again, it's reappeared on the list, so there isn't anything I can do to fix it except cross my fingers. They need to fix this app and make it just work again.
Great app, worked fine till recently. Tried to connect to my personal computer from my phone and It flagged it as for commercial use. I only use it for personal cases. If you say it is free for personal use, then why does it keeps on timing out after about a minute. Feels like they force you to use paid version. Tired of that, switched to AnyDesk. So far it worked better for me.
The "free for non-commercial use" description is just a scam to force you into paying. I have verified with multiple devices across multiple accounts that after a certain amount of time the app just locks you out saying "commercial use detected" pay us now to keep using. Customer service/support refuses to respond to "free" customers and hangs up as soon as they realize you not subscribed. Just more evidence that "free for non commercial" is an outright lie".
you offer a free tier for personal use. I've been using it for years and you keep begging me to buy a business model. ON TOP OF THAT, you then consistently restrict my account saying that it's under suspicion of being used for a business. it isn't and I have to repeatedly get my account unblocked. this shouldn't be happening. I'm thinking of moving to another service because while it works well, the service isn't really exceptional and there are many annoyances I'd rather no longer deal with.
Beware of predatory practices that this company has! Their mobile and desktop applications are very poor, full of problems, so I have decided to stop using them. Little did I know that after months of no longer using the software, I am now being contacted by Creditreform, their debt collection company, to force me to pay another full year of subscription, due to being late to notify them that I no longer wish to renew. You have to send a request in writing, 28 days prior to the subscription end
The app is great, I have no complaints about remote sessions. But I'm going to lower the rating to 1 star because of lack of freedom to manage the license. The app does not allow you to cancel automatic renewal and you have to request it from technical support, they does not inform you that your license is about to be renewed to give you time to cancel (28 days), they forces you to pay for a full year and finally threatens you with "charges and/or a collection process". Very disappointed.
This is a great app, but there are a few important issues that really should be attended to. Most importantly, you should explicitly state that in order to Remotely Control another device, (Android phone), you need to sign up for an account, (free or paid). No account shows error that gives no indication that you need account, (no route). Also, I still cannot figure out if you also need Quick Support and Universal Add On if you are the controller, not the one receiving support. Very confusing.
