For the first time in my life, I could literally say I lost my voice when sick. It got to the point not even an audible sound would come out unless I was attempting to scream. I still needed to communicate and went searching for an app to use for text-to-speach. I tried a few and didn't enjoy the format or needed to pay in app. I loved this one, it is simple and easy to use. I recommend this one. This story is actually from 2 years ago now, I'm back 2years later just for fun because I remembered

I am so thankful for this app! I get sick a few times each year and almost always lose my voice. this tool is incredibly easy to use. for less common words I've found I may need to spell them phonetically to ensure they're pronounced the way I expect, but that is a rare occurrence. the ability to save phrases is a game changer!! I can't properly express just how useful and appreciated this app is. thank you developers for your dedicated work!

Works very well and has a very clear voice! However, there are 2 issues anyone who needs this should be aware of: 1. Once you hit "read," you cannot stop. Exiting the program and erasing the text does nothing. So if you type out the entirety of "All-Star" like I did, you have to sit through the audio until it finishes. 2. It does not seem to work on phone calls. I origionally downloaded it to be able to speak in an emergency call, but when tested you can only hear clicking on the other line.

I lost my voice from allergies, and used this app to be able to speak to my job's customers for about a week. I like that you can change the pitch/speed of the playback, and that you can save an audio file of what you wrote in the app. You can also save a few texts to read in the app without having to type them again. I didn't like that "ok" needs to be written "o k" or it sounds like the start of the word octopus, or that " , " starts a new text or is ignored instead of pausing for a moment.

Been looking for an app like this for a while! I just want to listen to my writing to detect errors and this app makes it so easy. And the fact that it's free is phenomenal. My only issue so far is the occasional glitching and the fact that I can't pause and unpause the narration in the same place. Simple to work around! Other extensions and apps I have used simply don't work, or don't have a mobile app.

Absolutely love this app! I just had a Tonsillectomy & Adenoidectomy done yesterday. I can not talk at all. This app is quick and easy to use. I can adjust the speech easily. It articulates very well. There are no ads! So, I never have to worry about getting something across to someone and accidentally pushing on an ad that would lead me else where. I can go through a conversation with ease thankfully with this app. I recommend this to everyone. Thank you to the developer for your labor of love!

I've lost my voice three times as a young adult; since finding this app, it's helped me to manage the laryngitis much better before it gets worse and to communicate faster than simply typing when my voice is completely gone. I appreciate that you can adjust the speed and pitch, and save some preset phrases. Helps make life much more accessible when you otherwise can't use your voice.

This app helped me to speak to my family when I had laryngitis and could not use my voice. Much better than texting back and forth especially when traveling on the road. It's simple and easy to use. You can even cut and paste text into the box and have it read information outloud to yourself or others. Voice didn't change inflection when using a question mark and some words had to be typed differently to be spoken correctly. Overall great app. Thank you for helping me to communicate again!

Tonsillectomy communication I tried a few different apps to communicate after I got my tonsils out, and this was my favorite. It's very simple and easy to use, but still offers options for different voices, pitches, and speeds. I also really like the saved phrases tab. You can write in your most commonly used phrases for easy access.

I do not understand why some other text to speech apps have higher average scores. They were overly complicated and had way too many ads. This app, you just type or paste some text in and it'll read. I use it for reading articles. I read some of the 1 star reviews here, and it's all people complaining about features it never claimed to have. Dont expect anything fancy. Dont use it as a word processor because it won't autosave. This app reads aloud what is pasted into it, nothing more.

Great little app. Simple and effective. I downloaded it when I lost my voice, it really saved the day. I like copy pasting whole songs for my kids too. They laughed for 20 minutes to the song Black Betty. Especially when I switched up speed and pitch. Bonus points for the personal touch, a very tactful execution a message of how to give back and message of thankfulness.

Great app! I have selective mutism and this app makes it a lot easier to be able to speak to people instead of having to go through the effort of making communication cards. I also really enjoy that you can make preset words so if you click them they say what you've put in. Only issue is I wish there were different types of voices and not 'preset' ones but otherwise great app!

I am deaf and I use this application a lot to communicate. It's easy to use and very useful! I would like to see application being improved; built-in recorder voice which turns speech into text, different voices (preferably man's voice where possible), more options to edit color (This is optional), and an option allows me allow app to edit media volume automatically when I use the application. Otherwise, I love it has a button directly to media volume!

Absolutely love this. I lost my voicebox due to cancer a few years ago. The implant wouldn't work for me, so I am speechless. Was using another program, but had to think in mini sentences because it would start to speak before I finished a complete thought. Besides that, it sounded like a robot. This one talks with a human voice and it lets me type as much as I want to and keeps everything I say. I am using it with a wireless keyboard, though, and I can't figure out how to "read" from the keyboard. I have to type on the keyboard then go to my phone and hit "read.".

Did that works great not only are there quick responses that you can type in and customized but it does exactly what it says and they're read text aloud so if I get an email I can just copy and pasted it in and have it read it to me while I do other things it really saves a lot of time. Not to mention it simple and it actually works and there are no ads and other things getting in the way all the time.

When I first downloaded this app, I loved it. It was like narrator's voice but you didn't have to wait ten years to hear what you wrote. But recently, when I used the app, it made weird noises. For example, when the script said "Charlotte", the text to speech made it sound all weird and gross. Same with the word "Were." The text to speech also made it sound weird and gross. If the developers sees this review, please fix this bug.

Hi - semiverbal teenager here. This app is really good, and I mean that. It does exactly as you think it would, functions as intended. No ads, so that's a major plus. I like the fact you can save certain words or sentences for the future, makes it much quicker to say short stuff like "hi" cause all you have to do is have it saved and you can tap on it in the saved area which will play out the speech and it's shdjfnsbdhf it's awesome dude, 10/10 app, definitely recommend :>

Really nice app - i'm a semiverbal autistic person so having an app I can use to communicate that runs smoothly & doesn't have ads is really important. my one suggestion would be a way to pause stop speech once it's started; I have poor motor skills, so if I make a typo or my autocorrect does something wrong, I have to sit through the entirety of what I've typed before I can correct it. other than that, great app - would definitely recommend!

i was trying and failing for a while to find a good app. im mute and was looking for a tts reader to communicate with, but all the apps i could find were full of ads, paid features and over the-top-customization. and then i found this app. it has everything it needs and nothing more. it's simple, easy and quick to use, and involves no ads or paid features. it's exactly what i was looking for and works wonderfully for what i need. i absolutely recommend this app

This app is the best option for text-to-speech I've encountered thus far - it's simple to use and the options for manipulating the output are great. If you're displeased with the pronunciation of a word, it's quite easy to write something that will produce the sound you want. Missing one star because I feel it could be improved by more control over the output - tones of voice, different pitching & speed per word rather than per output, the ability to make longer pauses. Otherwise, it's perfect.
