Tellonym: anonymous questions

As much as I want to give the app a 3 star review, there's too many glaring issues for me that make me unable to confidently give 3 stars. The biggest issue is you cannot register for an account within the app, only allowing you to log in via email or a previously made account. I find it frustrating that I'm unable to sign into a different email once I've logged into another one, it doesn't seem right to essentially lock the app to one email if I have another account. 😕😕

Edit: I updated it and its worse... it wont even work now. Hi, great app but this has been having a lot of bugs lately, like crashing when I go to click on something and not letting me renew my profile picture... Other than that, you can filter your tells, block certain words being used, and block users regardless if they put in an anonymous tell to you, and select if you only want accounts to send you tells. It needs fixing though.

What gets this app in trouble with me is that I've been using it for over a year and we still can't edit answers. So, if autocorrect makes us look dumb because of grammar "fixes," or we just didn't see bad corrections because we were looking at the keyboard characters we were typing, we have to just live with a stupid looking response. Also, there should be a small DM system. Nothing fancy or complex, just a way for people who hit it off to stay in touch without sharing private info.

It does what it's meant to do. Paying for the plus subscription for "hints" isn't worth it because it tells you next to nothing. Lately there's been a bug where I'll have a red dot on my inbox to indicate I have unread tells, and then when I click it it shows that I have new notifications for Sent Tells. Then there is nothing there. Kind of annoying tbh

I've been using this app since 2020. For how long this app has been around, how many users it has, as well as the fact it has been worldwide for years, they really don't do enough. There are plenty of small, useful QoL improvements that could be made that they refuse to do. A lot of what they do have is locked behind a subscription; many of these things are free on other apps. They have recently locked read receipts gor.messages behind the subscription. It's a really poor experience overall.

There are a lot of things to talk about but I'll stick to one: fake questions from their bot. Firstly, those questions are so lame, uninteresting and bothering. If they have to send them, atleast generate better ones. Secondly, despite turning off questions from Tellonym team option, I'm still receiving them and there is no way to distinguish between what's from another person and what's from Tellonym. There must be a clear distinction and control over fake tells.

It is fun answering questions and all that. However.. The constant push for the premium subscription. To do anything that isnt to do with answering Tells or features that most social media apps have for free, requires the subscription all the way to see if someones read your DM. "But it's 77c a week".. not the point.

the app works great for a while, then I'll get notifs i have a new tell, go into the app and it won't show new tells, go to the web version and they all show up. I've deleted the app 4 times now, and it will work for a few days, then the issue starts up again.

it is one of the worst apps. it had an idea but the execution is terrible. the app is full of bots and it's difficult to reach direct messages. Scam Alert ... Be Safe 🙏🏽

I have not been able to upload to my Tells to Snapchat for over three months. I've messaged the support team twice and both times my messages were completely ignored. Seriously considering moving to one of their competitors apps :-(

Scam app. I just created a profile and no one knows about it. The day after I had eleven new, VERY weird and suspicious random questions that obviously are posted by bot accounts. Don't download this application.

great app! but please fix the send button when we want to answer a question, when I click it it just literally disappears so I can't send anything, even if I close the app.

i downloaded the app but it always says "no internet connection " i couldn't sign up or do anything. there is no problem with the Internet. please fix it and write me a comment so i can try again

This app is pretty good for anon QnA but the stupid generated questions sending provactive stuff like "ur friends talk behind ur back... " is not cool. Moved to another QnA app instead :/

would be great if they'd stop sending you bot questions, like at least add an option to disable that, i don't even knownif any of the questions I'm getting are from a real person, so i never answer anything, in other words this app is useless for me. (edit) too many useless notifications, every day at this exact time, this app will start sending me notifications every minute (sometimes 3 notifications other times 5 notifications) then it stops and the next day the same thing is repeated.

apps busted, can't even make an account or sign in on it. had to go to the website to make it work.

i understand needing ads to keep the app free but they need to stop popping up the google play download screen when I havent even clicked on the ad at all, it's just shoving the google play shortcut for whatever app it's advertising and it's ruining the experience I'll be answering a tell or going through the inbox and it'll just shove the pop up which takes me out of wanting to use the app the ads interrupt me anytime I try replying to a tell, I have to click out of them mid-typing

The app itself is a nigh-unusable hunk of junk. Any time you switch to a different app, then tap on the notification to switch back to this app, the app completely locks up and becomes unresponsive, although the phone itself works just fine. Even closing and reopening only sometimes fixes it; the only guaranteed fix is to Force Stop it. Also, too many ads. You're better off just using the website, frankly. Terrible app. The fact that I can't rate it lower is the worst part.

I had been using this app for a few years now with no complaints, but that's changed. The CONSTANT badgering to "link/share to my social media" (which I dont have) and to "share my location" (which is not only unnecessary, its SUPER CREEPY) both took off a half star. The fact that I can only see about 100 or so (out of 5482; 4y/o account) of my tells without the app/website crashing took off another star; would only be a half star if I could sort my tells "oldest to newest" or "newest to oldest"
