Account notifications are no longer working. In the past month or so, notifications about transactions on the account are no longer coming through. I've turned the notifications off, then back on, as instructed by Tecso Bank helpline staff, but it still doesn't work. I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but still no notifications.
Update 24/05/2025: If you have biometrics registered and then open the app and navigate away before logging in with biometrics, it incorrectly tells you your biometrics have changed and then deregisters them for the app. This bug has existed for years and Tesco have done nothing to fix it, which just seems like gross incompetence. Handling biometrics correctly on Android really isn't as hard as Tesco make it look. They clearly don't care about usability.

Its like you don't want us to be able pay the correct amount - goes against accessibilty for those who can't read the tiny text. I don't want to have to download the statement, or to view in the web version, whats the point of having the app in this case? Sort this please. edit - may only affect Android version!
I've had this app for years, since the update in January the app won't open. It comes onto the start screen and automatically closes before getting to the log in screen. I keep having to uninstall and reinstall it if I need to look at or approve transactions which is very frustrating as everything has to be set up again and takes a while. I'm using an android phone and have been for years with no issue.
Frustrated. App closes itself before loading. Deleted it and downloaded again. Worked but then same thing started happening again. Edit: After reading the response. I have looked at updates for my phone. The phone is all up to date and the problem is still there. Unfortunately if it continues i will have to stop using the Tesco credit card and start using a different one.
App has stopped working over last few weeks. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, restarting phone. Only way I can get on it is to clear cache and data and go through the rigmarole of signing in manually all over again. It is affecting approval of transactions when purchasing online. I was hoping this would have been fixed by now as it has gone on for a few weeks. Very inconvenient and quite concerning as notifications don't work either.
New customer. Android app has suddenly stopped opening. Restarted phone. Reinstalled app. Still not working. It was working yesterday however not showing a transaction that I made yesterday. Edit: Thanks Tesco Dev, but OS is already up to date and app is still not working. Edit: And how do I make a payment when I'm asked to authorise it in the app?? This makes the card useless to me. Edit: fix took too long. Credit card cancelled!
You can't click on a transaction to see more details. Some cleared transactions still show as pending for another day. The balance doesn't include pending transactions. The app wouldn't open on Huawei when another banking app was also open. For the past few weeks it wouldn't open when any other app was running so you had to close everything else. And since yesterday it just won't open at all.
So I've had this app for a few years now and all of a sudden it's stopped working. I've checked for updates, I've reinstalled it, re-regisrered for mobile banking and done everything possible. I click on the app and it doesn't even open. Doesn't even open when you go through the app store either. Will also need to reinstate paper statements too. Absolute rubbish so have to go back to online banking where it advises me it's best to download the mobile app. How ironic is that.
Every time I press the App, the Tesco blue screen appears for a few second then it closes, not letting my onto the log in page, I rang the Tech help line and they said it may be my mobile (Huawei) but now I've read the reviews it appears as it's the provider of the App. Also: When I could load the App, I also was frustrated as I could no longer zoom in on my statement. Come on Tesco please get these issues sorted.
I have the same problem as Satty. The app just stopped working. I've reinstalled it and spoken to customer service (who didn't seem to be aware of the problem). They suggested going on to online banking - what's the point of an app on your phone if you can't use it? I have a Huawei phone with Android. It needs sorting quickly Tesco before I ditch you for another credit card company.
31/01/2026 App just refuses to open, cleared cache, restarted, it's up to date... no result! I have payment due! 😬 Just like other users here are saying, I can't login lately! I confirm my fingerprint then goes to security number, I confirm that then goes to password, but although I input the correct password, because I use it to log in on the web, it gives an error and can never login. Uninstalled, reinstalled, managed to login ONCE, after which, the same thing happens! 🤦🏻♂️
Worst credit card app ever. Updates are random/sporadic. Payments made show as pending then disappear altogether eventually updating on the balance days later. This makes it very difficult to track spending. You also cannot use the credit card and then make a payment for the amount immediately as this produces an error that you already made a payment of that amount. Not sure if these are developer issues or due to the bank, but it does seem to have gone this way since Barclays took over.
I can't use the app now after the last call. security number has changed. even though I couldn't change it. says something goes wrong every time I try change it. now my only option upon starting the app is this process. can't even log on or pay. you know what at this point oh well. see you in court
paper is the ONLY way to use tesco. So paperless is apparently the future, however when they change your card number, like when M&S had a GDPR breach so they issued new numbers. ALL your old statements go with it, including the current one. Not only that but in the past few months they have made it so you CAN'T ZOOM IN to the statement, making their digital one absolutely useless, unless you share it. Yep Paper is THE ONLY WAY TO GO. I wouldn't go paperless with this app EVER.
Thank you for resolving the zoom issue, much appreciated! The app was working fine until the 18 Nov 2025 update. Now I can't zoom in on my statements. More testing is required before releasing updates! And it seems I'm not the only user to find this extremely frustrating. Why would you think this is acceptable? I don't want to fart around logging into online banking separately... What's the point of the app if you take the features out that we use the most? This is hugely annoying.
Latest upgrade us a downgrade. No longer able to zoom into credit card statements, the font is tiny so you can't read anything. please put this back so the statements are readable. And your answer is to download via the website - morons. Which bit of put the ability to zoom back in the app as before did you not understand??? 25/02/26 latest version has fixed zoom issue. Moron status now removed
Abysmal and now screwing up important scheduled payments. Actively considering closing account asap and moving elsewhere before something else goes massibely wrong. Rubbish service. Apparently, aware there's huge problem for weeks now but appear incapable of sorting it out. For Banking IT developers, they seem to be complete amateurs.
This was a good 4/5 star app for management of my Tesco bank acct, HOWEVER today I opened a new account and in trying successfully to get the two visible on the same page, the app now sends to be inaccessible to me. Very strange. What's going on Tesco Bank/Barclays?! Edited 3/03/26: after some clear instructions I uninstalled/reinstalled and I'm now able to log in again smoothly. All good!
transaction history has duplicate entries which dont add up to total spend. staments are no longer available so have to log on manually on site to see when payments are due. all features which where available recently but seem to be no longer supported. wouldnt bother downloading as just adds confusion. issues need rectifying.
