This is a low rating despite the stellar service. Let me explain. Text Me is an easy service to sign up for, with free high quality calls and texts. Everything you would want from a service like this. However the app is abysmally slow and stutters constantly. 50% to 70% of screen space is ads leaving a small window to navigate. Video ads are long and frequent. It logs you out making it inconsistent or useless for incoming calls though it's so slow, I've never been able to answer a call in time.

better than any of the other apps I've used. (text for free or text now) calls are more clearer period prices are better if you decide to go pro. text messages goes through in real time. unlike the other maps that delay them in order to get you to pay for a subscription. I must say they rate higher in my book. oh and definitely less adds so there's not this huge delay when you're opening up the app.

Free version*, aside from all of the ads, of course, it isn't too bad. No complaints*. * With the single exception of the, "Ever‐So‐Present on Free•Version of most apps", I hope you've got time to wait around the ads that are played on virtually EVERY SINGLE ACTION‽‽‽ Is there no way to tone down the amount of ads on free version guys‽ It's too much, really!!!

Don't use the paid version!!! As you can probably tell from the more recent reviews the app is becoming unusable. I can't send messages or make a call without using a VPN. I'm not in a "Geo Locked" country. Several help tickets opened just to be closed by their support team saying the ticket is "solved". save your money! This app user to be great.

The ads move around the screen, jump around, cover conversations, and glitch out (trying to get you to click them fraudulently). The app crashes for no reason. Half the time I pick up a call, it doesn't go through. The app doesn't separate texts from calls, so it's impossible to keep track of conversations. The app logs you out, so you miss calls. The app needs you to use it every 15 days or it deactivates your number. This is a disaster of a free messaging app; there are far better options.

Paid weekly subscription. Frequently logged out of the account. I could be using this app while working, but I have to log in just to continue my work after switching apps. My app is always up to date, so why haven't you guys fixed this bug? It's been an issue for almost 3 years. Update: Reported on three of my devices, 3 years, no response. Update2: logged out again after using text/calls. No notification for incoming calls, but everything is checked. I'm done. Canceled.

It was working fine for me until out of nowhere it wouldn't let me send any messages due to "strengthened security measures." So annoying. (Edit) Now I have to buy credits to keep texting, and I don't even receive calls anymore. Takes too long to open, really bad for when you're in a rush, and there's ads every time you click something. Very annoying.

There's no way to send feedback in the app. It just goes to help articles on the website. There is no message icon on inbox page. You have to add to contacts before you can send a text and send from contacts list. Full of ads, but quiet. Payment options seem ok. There's no way to earn credits to use for free, so why ads, then? Works on Wi-Fi. It's a maybe, not sold.

This is useless if you need to use this to get a verification code. They want you to pay for their premium subscription in order to do that. 7 dollars per week?! Hah! Anyone who takes 5 minutes to do their research will find an actual legitimate line for less. My mint mobile phone bill is cheaper. Their free trial asks for your card information in hopes that you'll forget to cancel it after you get done doing what you need to do. Also, ads will pop up with no warning and cover the entire screen.

First of all, there is apparently no free option. if you choose a phone number, it appears that you must subscribe in order to keep that number for more than a month. Then, it appears that every call or text costs "credits" but it's not clear how much calls or texts cost before you must buy more credits. Of what I have said here is incorrect in any way, it is only because the developers are so bound and determined to get money from you that they have neglected to make these points clear.

I'm being billed monthly for this app, yet the app logs me out every few days. Now I go to log in, and the app is giving me an error message about wrong username or password. This username and password are stored by Google and worked in the past. Now I can't use the app. Customer support reached out by email and had me reset the password. I was able to log in after that. I revised my star rating to 3, from 1.. Still too many ads in something that I'm paying for.

The last update was horribly horrendous for free users. If you have an older phone, don't even bother. Trust me it will freeze constantly and quickly drain your battery. However, if you pay to have the ads removed and don't cheap out, it's actually ok. I've been using it for about 10 years and years now and since I upgraded my phone and paid for unlimited credits, it's decent. UPDATE 6/22 For some reason now when I make outgoing calls, I'll get a pop-up ad when I hang up.

First of all, every time I restart or turn my phone on I'm getting the same old notifications saying I have completed my registration process. I can't get around on the app at all, won't let me change to where I wanna go in the menu at all. I wouldn't mind the permissions if I could just move thru the menu after accepting them in order to send a simple text. I can't even do that. The app freezes constantly and can't even even send a text message. I rarely complain about any app and have tried most of the free calling apps in the playstore. . . none of which are high on my list. But this one needs some significant improvement. It's like I'm trying to use it and i can't. The bottom line is, its frustration I haven't the time for.

It's nice to have a free alternative to paying the high cost of a regular carrier, and I have used this app for years! But, the clarity of the calls is sometimes poor, and the person on the other line can't hear me, even with a strong WIFI signal. The ads constantly "jump" on the screen, so when I press a function for a call, I end up pressing on an ad. Also, the screen does not unlock or pop-up when there is an incoming call. So, I have to unlock my phone, drag down and answer the call.

The fact that I can't even receive ANY type of activation code makes me want to uninstall. The app is slow, there are too many ads, I can't even see when I've sent my messages and the Bluetooth function for calls doesn't even work unless you reconnect them. That makes it completely redundant!! It won't even show you what the YouTube links being sent to you is. It could be kittens, it could be cringe. Don't install this app, you're better off finding another one.

TEXTNOW IS BETTER!! Way to many ads. I hate that every time I open the app, I go to click on a message and an ad will pop up right where the message was and I end up clicking the ad instead. And then I end up opening a web page I have to try to exit. It ends up freezing my phone up and then I have to restart my phone. Save your time and phone storage space and do not download this app! You're welcome!

unfortunately, there is nothing free but false advertisement. I commend the developers for their outstanding efforts to build and deploy this app. 14.99 a week subscription is worse than having a phone plan with the major spy corporations like Verizon. yes, it may still be equal to $60/month but at atlease offer a free phone along with it. it defeats the purpose of a second number the same price or more than your regular number. It offers way more than any other app and wish continual success.

I tried this, got charged $7.99, still had ads... had "credits" to call or text people, no way to tell of what the $7.99 is actually paying for... not even in the terms which basically say theyre liable for nothing and can continuously advertise to you. Continued to push me to upgrade to a more premium plan, can't easily tell what's included in a premium plan. difficult to use, obscure on what you're getting and I can't get my $7.99 back. uninstalled immediately due to lack of transparency.

Unsure about keeping it. I noticed you begin with 10 credits and can buy more. Explain how it is free. After my 10 credits are gone, wouldn't I have to buy more? Textnow doesn't require you to buy anything. You just start using it. This app does work fine, but I hate when apps say free, and it isn't. So it's free with a purchase of something?

App worked fine when first setup. Paid for premium immediately and now texts won't send, calls cannot be received or made. This was all within less than an hour of use. I cancelled the subscription for the month, but it won't refund what I have paid. I logged out of the app to see if that works and now I cannot get back into the app. Would hope tech support or customer service can refund the full subscription since I cannot use the app.
