I had been having problems setting up a new PayPal, without an actual phone number. I was using text now and even with the weekly subscription I couldn't use it for PayPal. Using textmeup, I was able to get the code instantly, and that is with using the free trail. I am thoroughly pleased with the results and in less than 10 minutes I have successfully opened a new PayPal. Thank you TextMeUp!
Satisfied I was reluctant at first to pay for the monthly subscription but now that I have, it is well worth it. A lot of these apps don't allow messages from websites to verify you on a two factor authentication form and they do, only in the paid version. Why? I have no clue. But for that low of a price it's great. The format of the app isn't necessarily totally user friendly, you have to know a bit about websites and apps to navigate through a few bugs.
The ads just kill everything. The subscription is a bit weird. I paid 20 to reserve the number for the year. But it costs an additional 9 bucks to get rid of ads monthly. A bit too pricey. And there's periods where the app just doesn't send texts to the other person. You can't predict when it happens either. All of a sudden in the middle of a conversation it just decides not to send a text to the other person. Constant bugs randomly.
It really depends on what you want. If you want a FREE (not tied up with your credit card ect) burner, this is what you can expect: you must use it once a week, it will NOT allow you to recieve verification messages from sites (like eBay) without you paying, it will NOT always save a number (sometimes it disables it even when you're active), it is absolutely packed with ads. So, if you're trying to head off spam callers & protect privacy? It doesnt work.
Been using this app for probably a year now and I have no real complaints at all. The only thing that I would change is it won't send a message that's lengthy. I don't even know how many characters is too long to send. Be nice to know that because at least then you could stop, and and start again. Lol. Once I have typed out a message I want to send it, not break it up, copy, paste, delete, etc... The app is great though. My messages can get too long anyway. 🤦♀️😊😂😉😋
I like the fact that you can have multiple numbers from the same account with different area codes and also maintain conversation history and call log essentially for each number in the same space but still as separate numbers. I hate having to switch between this app and that app to use multiple numbers for individual purposes, it gets messy, confusing, frustrating and eventually mistakes are made. But not here. The ads at the bottom even after going premium are annoying but manageable.
This app is what I depend on, but it honestly garbage. I can't begin to describe how many glitches and bugs have got me in a fight because someone thought it was me doing it. The audio stops working on my end, the calls constantly quit on their own free will and don't work again for god knows how long, Calls make just the most off noises, that sound like creepy laughing dudes to heavy breathing, both terrifying, the messages AND calls don't reach then on their end almost at a l l. Fix it please.
The app claimed a free trail. But to get a test text with a verification code I had to pay for the service. How can you test if you want an app without testing the features? While the install was easy and the selection of a permanent number great. It still is a bit confusing on how to use all the features. I did not want to give it access to my phone book contacts so it would not send an outbound test text to my own cell phone number.
Great app. Works well for me on mobile device free but works even better for insurance and unwanted users on my device. I love getting a text that makes me feel like I should keep up the good fight just to realize later on a through a screen shot of the window overlay or the window underneath in which the heartfelt message was for. Who's the biggest clown of the last half decade. Me.
Please refund my money. I paid for a number & credit but I'm unable to use the number, & my texts disappear when I press the "send"button, with no confirmation of whether my text was sent or not. please do not share sensitive information with his app!
horrible app. there app says 2.99 a month for US number exactly what i had. Yet I was charged 6.99 two or three times a month since November of last year. Immediately canceled and disputed the charges. Never again will I use this app. I HIGHLY suggest you dont either.
log ins do not work even though credentials are stored in my device and they are copy pasted. so, no way to blame this on myself in terms of mistyping or forgetfulness. registration does not work either
As of November 2025, I have been trying to get a Free Number as the app states, but there are no free options. It is False Advertising and may need to be reported!
I love this phone app so much and appreciated with easy and quick it's easier than text now this is official app I highly recommend it to everybody and if anything I would like to advertise it if I could I'm a musician and I try to save money on the side this phone really help me out with my home music thank you
unable to call. being as a customer for more than 4 years, I am having this issue. After dialing the number after 1 ring the call is disconnecting automatically by saying Retry. Tried to uninstall and reinstall the app but with no luck.help me asap
Have used the app for less than a month, but my review so far... I like that a local area code was available 👍 More than one number can be setup on an account. Can record a personal voice mail greeting. Calls are clear. Downside: Ad's are WAY too intrusive! I understand its a free app, but having 3 ad's in a a single text message conversation is a bit much 💁♀️, and the Pro membership to keep phone number and remove ad's is costly at $7.99(CAD)/month 😶 Not great, but good so far 😏
This app is not allowing me to make calls from India to the USA even after having premium numbers with monthly recurring charges please look into it or let me know if you don't provide service in our country
long time bugs. Might slow system. Copy paste numbers issue still unsorted (2years now) They hiden cost of SMS, you about to send. Recognition of numbers from your contacts is messy. after annual renewal , there is no reminders coming to pay 20$/year for next year. luckily staff, stil were able to sort issue and accept payment. otherwise i could have lost number. The rest is still big advantages :)
It is a great app if you don't need reliability. If you hve an older phone, the app is very buggy, slow and got kill by android often. You absolutely need to BUY the ''no ads'' feature to make it work decent enought. The abosulte added value for this app is the access of the SMS on a webpage. At first, I could log in with my username and password. So I didn't need my phone to sign in, which was a nice thing because I dont have access to the phone network at work. Now I have to Log in with a QR code scanned with the built-in app QR code reader. And Now, This feature is only for PRENIUM member at a mere cost of 12$/Month (you also have unlimited call instead of credits). It's a nice feature, but it is not worth it. For the call feature, I don't really use it because it is unrealiable. voice quality is poor and sometimes laggy. I receive call but I can't asnwer them. Or sometimes, I answer them and they don't hear me... At last, for the SMS part, the only concern I have is when I send a big message, it is broken into pieces and receive in a different order. Really hard to read for my friends. I have use this app for many year now and I used it with different cellphone.
Money grab app. I'm unable to make calls to any US & Canada number after subscribing to a premium plan. I also tried buying credits for an additional price but it still doesn't work. When I dial a number nothing happens, the dialpad just disappears and returns to the home screen. Please provide a refund.
