Love the content through this channel, but the phone and TV app have to be the worst developed apps I've used! Freezes when it loads, doesn't recognize the closed captioning settings and have to change them every time you start the live channel, and that's just a couple of the problems. I love this subscription, but the problems with the app ruin it and make me not want to renew. Once it starts, you get some great things on the channel...if it will even start.
Fix the freezing! This is the only way to stream the NFR, and you charge an arm and a leg for it, but it freezes for a split second constantly. Even if I back up 5 minutes so it's not live and force the video quality all the way down. Very frustrating when it freezes multiple times in a 14 second barrel run. Kind of hard to appreciate a rodeo when you can only watch half of it.
This app and subscription does not work if you have a samsung TV. The only recommended fix from the company is a roku for firestick device. They state they are not able to fix it for samsung TVs and not going to work on trying to fix citing it as a samsung issue (despit it used to work on them). If you have the right compatible device, it works fine.
Currently very upset. The price has increased by $20, I have my payment receipt, but I cannot watch anything in the app. It says it can't verify my subscription. I paid LAST WEEK. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, signed out and back in, and I don't know what else to do. I will happily change my review if someone can fix this asap.
Not worth the money for the subscription. App lags, skips, and loads on live coverage. It won't let you stream it from your phone to a chromecast, and the app randomly doesn't load all videos so you have to uninstall then reinstall for them to load. I got the all in subscription and expected the app to function better for.tjay prive tag. Would not recommend a subscription for the app until they fix all the bugs. Not worth the money for a sub par app that works half the time.
I'm quite disappointed with this app. This is round 6 of the NFR and the problems continue. In round 2, I couldn't connect at all; it kicked me out and I couldn't get back in until it finished. I stopped paying for DirecTV and bought this app so I could watch the NFR, and the results have been pretty bad.
I'm very disappointed, i went to college so got my own account to watch the nfr last week, and the app won't let me log in( I can log in online) keeps lagging out and freezing then kicks me out. I'd update my review once I could actually watch something but am very disappointed. seems like a total waste of a lotta money....
probably the most poorly developed app I've ever used. why am I paying $180/year and still getting unskipable ads before the stream even starts? no PiP, everytime I close the app to check a text or something the stream stops. I have to watch another ad, lose my spot if I'm watching behind the live and I mix whatever was happening.
This app is a joke. It freezes and glitches constantly. Now round 8 of the NFR doesn't even show up on my app. When you pay so much for a service it should perform. If you can't meet the demand then let others stream the rodeo.
I'm very disappointed with the app this year. I purchased it specifically to watch the NFR. I'm waiting over +12 hours to watch the broadcast playback from the night before because it's not available in the app or on the website. So much for Video on Demand.
live freezes. why is this so difficult to fix. other apps have no issue correcting it. update 1-27-26 a few days ago the app was blank every time I opened it. when it came back on line it no longer has the 2026 rodeo. what is going on?
i bought this app to be able to watch the nfr and now the app and website crashed. technically i should get a refund. why wouldn't you have these problems worked out before the biggest nights in rodeo. even when the app is running it glitches so much during the rodeo its pretty annoying
They put closed caption want it or not on the screen. It blocks need information like names and scores. This is not necessary and has been going on for months. Having been a video production engineer for a long time this is unacceptable and shows great incompetence on the part of management that has allowed this to happen.
HORRIBLE. Live events buffer, skip, & then don't play in their entirety. Do not pay for this! Customer Service is a joke. I was informed that it didn't work because I used a RokuTV, which I didn't. Then it was because I used a Samsung TV (when I told them what I did use). It didn't work on the phone either... saw dozens w/ the same complaint for that event from people who were looking for updates after it cut off completely & still customer service blames EVERYONE for using the wrong device? 👎
Cowboy channel is absolutely awesome. What a humongous change in pro rodeo. So many prca rodeos broadcast it's awesome. My technical problem with the app is...any Android I've ever had and streamed to a firestick from has to stay on with the app up on the phone while casting... Unless you disconnect from wifi after casting... Please... Please fix this .. I've missed my some of my son's rides live cuz of it and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Got the CC Plus. There is no price break for subscribing a full year. I have to say that I am disappointed because at first I thought the buffering issues was mildly irritating, but now it's down right unwatchable. You have to keep restarting and reloading the show then after a few minutes, the buffering gets so bad the show can just stop playing and shut down. You literally are giving them money for a service that doesn't work. CC needs to do right by their customers. Fix this!!!!!
Lagged and buffered a lot. I stopped using the app, as a result I tried to cancel my subscription. Except there is nowhere in the app to do so, so I had to contact customer support. They claimed they couldn't access my subscriptions because I paid through Google Playstore, so I contacted Google Playstore. Google said they couldn't do anything about it either because Cowboy Channel is the one billing me and sending out the receipts. Now I'm stuck paying for an app I never even use. Ridiculous.
App will not cast to TV and have tried restarting, deleting, etc..This has happened last 2 years. Can only cast from the web which shows the replay. Can't load the app to the TV either. Why isnt the CC on YouTube TV? If you want to grow your sport make it available on other platforms.
I have this on my roku as well as the phone app, as for the phone app it prompts to reset password but never sends the email for the link this making the phone app useless. The roku works ok as long as you go to the subscription settings to remind it you do have a subscription. A main complaint is the business model the use if you want to watch live you must have the $99 sub for a year not the $9 monthly, you guys understand I'm paying you more for less content?
Honestly, kinda sucks. Resets every time you leave the app, navigation leaves you wanting more, no way to search for specific content, plus the company itself isn't truly aligned with real western values. It's what I'd call a necessary evil due to a lack of competition. Okay, end of rant. Still grateful for the hard work to get rodeo to the masses!
