Initially impressed at the selection and prices, that all went out the window when I got my order. One pair of pants had been labeled my size on the app, but when I got them, they weren't even close to my size! Despite this being their mistake, I still had to pay the restocking fee and the options to return are atrocious. I opted for the site credit figuring I could find something else, but now can't even get close to just spending the credit amount.

Buying from here is SO STRESSFUL. Your items get taken out of your cart after 30 minutes, which isn't enough time to shop. Plus. the prices aren't that great. $15 for a used old navy t-shirt is kind of crazy. but it's a good option for people who are looking for something specific and haven't had luck with their local thrift shops. the filter and category functions make finding specific brands/products easy. I love to search for vintage coach bags on here. Haven't received 1st order yet

my experience for this app is mainly positive. I have loved all the clothes I have gotten. I feel that some items are overpriced for them being items that are sent in for free. I feel my biggest issue is that while there is a time limit for how long you can have something in your cart, that can be reset an infinite number of times by removing and readding something to your cart. The 'buy this for me if available' feature doesnt work either. its very frustrating

The app is better than it used to be (less random crashing, much improved search function) and they have started taking more thorough pictures, including the tags with the fabric content if available. They use laser measurements, which they state is more accurate, but I have received clothing that was nowhere close to the stated measurement. Most of the things I've received have been accurate to the pictures.

App has gone downhill since the company went public. Until recently thredup has been a mostly positive experience for me. Didn't love the return policies, but accepted them when I purchased items. Now the prices are weirdly assessed and items that are in "excellent" condition are "good" or "very good' at best, and the reverse of that is also true. I will probably use my store credit, delete the app & sell my stock when/if it goes back up to my purchase price.

Its a good app. The sale notifications can be a bit much at times....but I do enjoy buying from there. UPDATE 1/2026: I haven't bought from here since they clothes you send are worth next to nothing (brand new with tags) And the usual things that were affordable are no longer. Sadly I will have to move on to something else.

It's always been a little tricky finding the types of items Im looking fo on here, but it seems to have gotten much worse since the re-vamped this app several months ago. It looks nicer, but I've noticed a lot of things are mis-labeled or tagged which is probably part of the issue, but it seems way more difficult to narrow down the results to what I want, which is super frustrating and often not worth my time.

would NOT recommend! I saw an ad for the bag that they will send you and sell your clothes for you... I had a few things that I couldn't seem to sell on ebay. Two of the things I sent were brand new with tags and the other was in excellent condition. The process was easy and I was glad of that. BUT they were VERY deceptive when it came to my payout. I was under the impression that the fee i paid for the bag itself was the only fee I would pay and thus I would receive full payment for the items.

If you are trying to find an app to sell things on, this is not it! You could send in a bag of 20 brand new items and they're only going to list eight of them and tell you the rest were unlistable. I just sent in two brand new skirts with tags attached and they chose to list my 8-year-old swimsuit instead of the brand new skirts. I feel like they always list just enough for you to break even on the service fee and never to make any profit. What a waste!

My issues with the app are similar to other's experiences. Saved searches return unrelated items when search is re-opened. When searching by brand, know the brand because an open search returns 1000's of items. Sizing is VERY inconsistent, especially on jeans! Also, considering I have had Gap children's clothes rejected for sale by ThredUp, I am very confused by unbranded articles with visible holes and stains.

Be sure you have trending, on brand items, WITH TAGS. My personal experience wasn't the best, but with the right items you could do well. I'd removed the tags of my Halara purchases and hoped it'd be recognized as Halara and it was not and was simply donated (you get the option go donate or have your items returned to you). Choose wisely. I wish i had it all returned tho. Not much was chosen (and it was the uglier stuff I sent too). I shoulda kept it all. Simple process tho!

Ever since Thred up revamped their site and app, the algorithm ia terrible. Every time I want to peruse it mostly shows me leather pants ans rompers. None of which I have ever purchased or liked/save. The daily edit ia a great idea, but only if you can get you algorithm right. To add, when you are ahopping thw Daily Edit, and select an item to look at, it disappears completely. All in all, what used to be easy "window shopping" for me with Thredup has become painfully difficult.

Ordered 4 items (a purse & 3 pairs of Ugg boots). 2 days later I got an email saying one of the pair of boots was canceled, no biggie, I still had 2 more coming. I received the purse, but I got no additional emails about my 2 remaining pair of boots, so I went into the app & see the other 2 were also canceled, no notification sent. I see this is a problem from other reviews. How is it that so many items get canceled when supposedly they are protected in our cart for several min. Disappointed

Sometimes they do have nice items. But I'm not selling my items with them anymore. Inspection is poorly organized. My brand new items with tags they mark as "very good" while I'm ordering items in excellent or new with tag conditions and getting something heavily used with holes. Customer service is unhelpful and rude, not all but some of them very unprofessional.

I used to use this app a lot back in 2021-2022 and just haven't used them much after that. When coming back after a few years, I noticed the quality and clothing choices have changed, (there used to be so many prettier clothing back when I used this app) and the prices are insane for secondhand clothes. Especially with Torrid brands, you might as well walk into a Torrid store and buy something at the same price (I shop at Torrid stores often). Unfortunately, I'll be uninstalling this app.

I left a review in 2021 complaining about the inaccuracies in measurements and item tags. I have continued to use the app, never ordering anything unless I read the full description (doesn't help the return process, even their mistakes you pay for)... I wouldn't have thought 4 years later I would actually come lower my star rating because not only have inaccuracies continued, they have gotten worse! Not worth my time or money when the company misrepresents their stock so significantly.

1) Customer service legit doesn't exist. 2) They said they had to donate items I had sent in for sale even though they were good enough to be sold before. 3) Measurements are almost always inaccurate. 4) Have ordered things that get canceled because they can't find them?!?! I also ordered 1 pair of pants, received a different pair, and they credited me for costs and basically said too bad, they're gone forever. 5) My "Saved Searches" that are for more broad criteria never actually load.

EDIT: Changing my 2021 rating from a 5 to 2. I've been a customer for 4 years and have watched the company go steadily downhill in terms of it's benefits to customers. Selling in the platform is not with it anymore and their loyalty program, which used to be great, is pretty worthless now. Big bummer. Keeping 2 stars because the search/ filtering function is still great.

Add this app to list of things that AI is making worse. Love Thredup as a service, but searching on the app has become beyond frustrating. A search for cardigans returns pullovers, a search for a white garment returns blue, the list goes on. I purchased a button up recently, now all I see are more button ups. The app doesn't seem to understand my preferences anymore despite having a rich data set on me, as I've used this app for at least 5 years and have a robust search and purchase history.

They used to allow you to pay-out, but they made it very difficult to get out of the app. A few years later, I figure I'll try to just use the money I earned in the app. All the money I had on my account is gone. Hundreds of items I sent to them, some very high end and vintage items during a big move. They only give you a very small fraction, but they even took what I had away. I've deleted the app and won't be going back. Very predatory and dishonest.
