ThriftBooks: New & Used Books

The absolute gold mine of book selection and prices. I am addicted to ordering from this site. The selection is huge, and prices mostly fair. The shipping is quick, and the customer service excellent. I once didn't receive a shipment, and they sent me a replacement. I love that they offer a free book under $7 when you accumulate a certain number of points. And you can accumulate quickly.

I saw an ad for this app and how they purchased used books and as a Avid book lover, I had more than enough books and really needed to do a bit of a purge but didn't want to just donate them because I think many of them end up in the trash instead. the process to scan the books and send the book's in was so easy. and once they had received my books and gone through them, there was only about 5 out of 50 that they were unable to accept, totally fine, and the money was in my Paypal VERY quickly!

I love thriftbooks, and haven’t had any problems with the app. The only problem I've had was when I bought a movie (which I bought thru the app, but I don't think this problem is app specific), but when it arrived it was just an empty box. I contacted customer service and they sent me a replacement immediately. I'm very satisfied with my experience with thriftbooks as a whole, including this app of theirs.

I LOVE Thriftbooks!!! It's definitely become a go to of mine! The books are heavily discounted for used books, and slightly discounted for new books as well! The reading rewards program is phenomenal and the amount of free books I have gotten alone this year is amazing. They have a fantastic selection, including some books that I struggle to find copies of elsewhere! To anyone just starting to use it: I would not recommend buying any book in less than Very Good condition. Otherwise, no complaint

I'm a book nerd, so of course I love this! Keeping used books out of landfills and making reading more affordable for everyone, not to mention easy access to a HUGE range of titles delivered right to my door with free shipping most of the time because I always find enough to qualify for that, what's not to love! (I hate paying for shipping, feels like I'm wasting money, so I appreciate making the $ goal to get free shipping an amount I can afford to reach each time.

This is the most amazing find of any app. Time of used books in great shape for very low prices with great shipping times and you earn free books. I order for myself, my son, and a loved one in prison with no complaints. I rarely write reviews, but thought they warned it. I will continue to use it and I tell people about it frequently.

App to buy books, NOT a great app to sell books. I was promised $50 for a box of my books, but when they actually received my box, they changed the payback value to $7 and didnt let me get any of my books back. I feel like I got scammed out of half my library when I was trying to do a good deed and pay a bill at the same time. I would have rather just kept the books.

I have been a long time customer of Thriftbooks. the items are usually at a decent price and quality is as advertised. usually. when an item is not as advertised, their customer service has been severely lacking. after a couple of negative experiences, I have learned that I can usually find the book I want on Pango books for cheaper, and can see photos of the actual book, so I can judge the quality for myself. will not make the mistake of buying here again.

It's absolutely phenomenal. I got fed up with Amazon pricing and quality of shipping when it came to books and man have I been under a rock. Have purchased several books so far, each in the condition they said they were in (couple better than what graded at). For book lovers their point system is awesome, I've already scored and cashed in 2 free books. App so far runs pretty smooth for me and is fairly intuitive to use.

It's essentially a used book store. The books are obviously used but there are options to choose from, some have the options of like new, very good, good, acceptable and new. Some have the options of getting them in hardcover, paperback, mass market paperback and even leather bound (haven't seen a lot, but mostly for collectables). Over all if you don't mind buying used books then you'll love this, but be advised some books may be in better conditions than others they are used after all.

I love thrift books! The app tells you the condition and binding of the books. Not just hardback or paperback. This makes it easy to shop. In my experience, the condition errs on the side of caution. Acceptable in the app is always going to be better than acceptable on eBay. In addition, you can see what edition the books are. Although I'm not a collector of first editions, they are listed as well. It's also been easy to keep track of and use my rewards.

I have been using ThriftBooks for years and I cannot recommend it more. It's great for buying cheap used books that are still in good condition. They have text books too! My text books were gonna cost me $85 and with Thrift books they cost $26, including shipping. Also, the app is very easy to use, you can search for books by genre, isbn, and title/author.

I'd recommend to anyone needing any type of books at an affordable price. They have at times been bad quality or missing a book in a set, but they refund you without hesitation. It' just annoying that you get a refund instead of having the book that was missing instead. To get free shipping you have to buy more. I thinking shipping for free is 14 dollars worth of books. So now that I have a refund I have to buy more.Thats the only issues & some books aren't available and some are overpriced.

Thriftbooks is a fair app, though the prices have increased when I first joined, and I don't like how you see a book on the main page reads $4.99 and you go to click and get to the book and it's magically $5.99 instead. The misleading pricing is frustrating, but their stock is still really impressive. They have a lot of rare books that I have on my wishlist, and the books are often in fair condition. Overall, I've been satisfied with Thriftbooks. 4.5 stars rounded up.

If only my books wouldn't disappear....several times I have browsed, added, and had to come back to what I was doing the next day, only to find that ALL of the books I had recently added were no longer in my cart. It's especially frustrating when I go down "rabbit holes" and don't have a physical list of the books I wanted. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING. If you can fix that, 5 stars for sure. But my gawd that's annoying.

I've ordered over 25 books from Thriftbooks now, and have had zero issues with the book themselves or receiving the wrong books. If you read what the condition of the book is, you will see what you're getting. The "worst" book I've gotten had highlights and sentences underlined. And truthfully - I don't care. It doesn't ruin the experience for me. Unless you're buying the books new, they are not cheaper elsewhere. This website has the best pricing I've seen for books.

I'm about to go off. I can not tell you how much I love this app! The company itself is amazing. They are super helpful, you get free shipping at a low price, and it makes getting thrift books so much easier and more accessible. Shipping is fast and they save so many books from just being trashed or wasting away which is super important! Thank you thrift books! The site is easy to navigate and they have a lot of promotional codes and coupons! It's great!

Excellent service, excellent books. Whatever condition you want inexpensive you can find here. I've never had a problem. I buy in satisfory condition and they look to me except for the binder, almost new. You can be put on a waiting list if your book is out and of course a wish list. PLUS, they have great discounts when you buy multiple books.

Never had a problem with any books I've ordered, new or used. They've always been in good condition. However, if you decide to order movies be sure to order them new. The movies I ordered all work but the cases for two of the discs were broken, and the third wasn't the right movie in the case. (Although, I did enjoy the wrong movie anyway).

Great for hard to find books, mostly. No better deals than anyone else really. Their "help" section leaves a lot to be desired. Tried to purchase books but the app locked up on me and I could not complete the checkout. Tried to email them the problem, but without an actual order number, they are not interested. I'll try again some other time (maybe) and if it doesn't work then, I'll delete the app.
