the internet lagged songs aren't too terrible for me. however, a few songs sometimes have glitches in the actual tracks themselves so QC might be nice! also wondering if theres any way to get a sleep timer or something like that for the app? otherwise, the library is extensive and covers all the songs i needed to transfer, and the quality of the sound itself is 👌👌 thanks!
The library and quality of audio on Tidal, and the utility (like importing other services' playlista) are great. But the app, at least for my Android on a flagship Galaxy device, SUCKS. it freezes and crashes constantly on a stable high speed internet connection as well as on 5G. I haven't switched to something else just because the politics of the competitors are bad but it's super frustrating especially considering how expensive it is. can't use it as party music etc as it's so unreliable.
After having Tidal for several years, I canceled my subscription. The app stopped playing music when I wasn't connected to WiFi even when I had great cellular service (and an unlimited data plan). Only downloaded tracks worked... kinda ridiculous. When I went to YouTube music to stream the same song it played immediately. It wasn't a service issue. I do like the layout of the app.
Fantastic music quality and so glad they pay more per stream to the artist. The glaring UI issues, interruption of songs, not being able to control Tidal on another device from your phone, slow loading no matter the Wi-Fi or connection you have kept me off the app though. You shouldn't have to download third party software to get an app to work properly. I love this app and streaming service but the system needs to be fixed.
Unmatched sound quality, excellent curated playlists, fantastic UI. It's only flaw, down right terrible search algorithm. Almost inexcusably bad. I thought there would be no way I would leave Spotify. After spending so long listening to CD quality music, Spotify sounds like garbage. This becomes more apparent using premium speakers or headphones. Fix the search algorithm for the love of God.
Updating my review; Tidal is still a good app, quality is amazing! But if you're going to use it on phone more than the desktop like me; there are features on the desktop that haven't been moved to mobile, as far as I can tell: being able to search your playlists while adding a song, blocking tracks. There also doesn't seem to be a way to make shuffle the default or have the setting be kept. Little things by themselves, but they add up haha. Being unable to skip to the end of some songs.
I switched to Tidal from Spotify and I really like it. The UI is similar enough that it was an easy transition to change to Tidal. I like that most of the songs have the rolling lyrics available while playing. If I could make one change: when deleting a track from a playlist, it takes you back to the top of the playlist so you lose your spot and have to scroll back down to where you were (at least on mobile). It would be great if deleting a track doesn't lost my place.
I don't normally rate apps but tidal is a the best thing to happen to music streaming. better quality, better shuffling, better recommended songs, HD music videos, lyrics and tons of band information and you can transfer your music from Spotify. easy to make the switch. goodbye Spotify I wish I could say it was fun but honestly I was just waiting for something better.
The app is nice and I have enjoyed using it so far. Glad I switched from youtube. However I have one main complaint, in two parts - 1) If two artists have the same name it will simply lump them onto the same artist page together. 2) AI is not well moderated so there is sometimes a bunch of AI slop on the same page as an actual artist. Also, I wish I could remove 'Upload' from the bottom bar. I'm never going to use it.
Very solid sound quality. There's a much greater emphasis on the love of music as art, compared to some other streaming apps. The variety is much more limited, however. Plenty of excellent work, but don't expect every single artist you love to be here. There are occasional errors with streaming, but nothing too crazy.
I switched from Spotify to Tidal because I wanted to support the artists better, and tidal does a good job of that. The app itself, however, is garbage. Constant crashing and playback issues, as well as an incredibly disappointing user interface: no way to organize your music by what was listened to recently, no syncing between mobile and PC, no sleep timer, and no backskip button to restart a song from the beginning if it's the first song you play. I hope the devs can fix these issues.
Great sound quality, definitely noticeable, especially on decent speakers. The app is easy to use and the track radio works well. Lost two stars as it keeps dropping the connection on Android Auto, VERY annoying. Research shows it's common. You have to start playing a track before connecting to the car to stabilise it. Please fix this bug.
It's not bad? I wish there were some better search options, especially for searching my own playlists. The biggest issue I have is that almost every time I open the app, it thinks I'm offline and refuses to play music. I usually have to close and restart the app at least once, and sometimes I have to force stop it just to get it to realize that I am not offline. It's a small frustration, but when it happens every time I open the app, that frustration builds up pretty fast. I hope they fix it.
EDIT: As of 02/21/2026 a lot of songs have now turned into AAC. this is terrible. I've been a TIDAL Customer for almost a year now. It was said that Master Quality Playback would be available on Android Devices soon, I am finally a satisfied customer to bring master quality audio with me on the go. The files are pretty big, and if you're an audiophile like me, you'll need quite a bit of storage for your thousands of songs. Thanks for implementing this Tidal!
Overall a great music app. Let's you build your own playlists and library, has a wide selection of artists (including several music videos), and has good sound quality. For a lot of songs, there's an option to follow the lyrics with the music and it's easy to see song/artist details and bios.
I couldn't see how to send feedback so I just have to say the search engine in this app is absolutely awful. you can search the exact title of a song and it won't even be a result. for example, if I search "cue the sun", the first result with that title is number TWENTY THREE. and it's not the one I wanted. even if I include the punctuation it doesn't come up. I can't be the only one who doesn't always know the artist of the song they're looking for.
Been enjoying Tidal now for about 6 months. Pretty good service overall, love the high quality streaming! Only thing missing is a dedicated Samsung TV App!! I'm forced to use the internet app and that doesn't allow gapless playing or Dolby Atmos, which would be nice considering most soundbars today take advantage of that. Yes, I can use Bluetooth with my phone, but then its not a direct connection. Having an app on the TV would be the best option!
Update as of 2026. App use to be amazing a few years ago, I ended up switching to Spotify because it was a better deal. Switched back to Tidal last yr. man, the app really fell off. Its always issues. Cutting off randomly, Album art being incorrect for a song I am listening to, the shuffle is weird etc. If they dont improve soon, I will be leaving. Too much money for so many issues.
I really wanted to like Tidal. I appreciate their mission of supporting artists. I like that the user experience doesn't exclusively focus on playlists like most other music streaming services. It also promotes listening to full albums. However, both the mobile app and web app are CONSTANTLY buffering, crashing, and taking forever to continue playing a song. When navigating through the app, it often freezes. It doesn't matter if I am on 1gig Wi-Fi or my cellular connection, it still crashes.
switched over for ethical reasons. The sound quality is good but skips bad with Bluetooth. Major things to fix are: 1)searching is very broken,no results even if the artist is on the platform. 2)artists with similar names have albums and songs mixed together all the time. 3)the upload tab being on the bottom bar seems like a waste of space for most 4)stop brining back up to the top after editing. the playlist organizing is superior but it's not individual
