I've been using this app for over 4 years and for the most part, it's been great. In the past couple months, I've had nothing but problems! I can't upload videos, IT starts to upload, then forces closed. I can't see past pictures I've uploaded by clicking on the calendar. They don't open at all! Now, to upload something, I have to uninstall the app, then reinstal it! Every. Single. Time. Nothing uploads otherwise, the app just freezes. I'm about to find a new platform, because this is ridiculous
I love this app! It allows me to share photos with loved ones easily and without killing the memory on my phone or theirs. Family and friends who don't want to download the app love the email feature which keeps them updated on a regular basis. Additionally, I like that I can track milestones and write notes to remember certain events. Areas for improvement. One, I can't seem to upload multiple files at once, especially if it's photos and videos. Two, the milestones feature is buried in the app.
I tell everyone how great this app is for families that live out of state. Unfortunately, like others have reported, the captions are being cut off and I can't edit my pictures. I was disappointed when the frames and other things to add to pictures were removed, but this is more than disappointing. This is making it so the app is not useful. Please correct.
Love this app for the most part! Even my technologically challenged grandparents have made it work! I desperately wish there were a way to acknowledge that I've seen messages without needing to respond to each individually. My family loves to comment on pictures, so I really wish there were a like or love button of some sort. Also, I can't edit milestones through the app. It always want to see them in a more user-friendly way but it never works.
Super buggy and super expensive. What once was free was then $40 a year. Fine. But now they want $70 a year?! My family is constantly having issues with it. And even with paying I get tons of ads. Over it. Edit to add 11/2024 Cost has risen again. We decided to just go with the free version for now. The amount of uploads a month included for free is appallingly low. There are lots of free options that are just as good. I hate to leave tiny beans, since we've been using since 2021, but 😬
Frustrating. We've been with tinybeans for years and it was AWESOME. I recommended it to everyone we knew all the time. We knew it was going to be having to be paid for going forward, which was OK as long as our family could still view for free. Now it's just not working right for anyone and the only thing ANYONE can reliably see are the ads. It's frustrating and sad. I'll no longer be recommending it.
I have been using this app for over 6 years to share photos of our kids with family across the country so they don't miss anything. Now that it is a paid app, it is becoming worse with each update. Several days of photos currently show an "upload in progress" message, and there is no way to delete the photo and try again. The app was great before it was a paid service- not everything needs to be the latest and greatest, and quite frankly, I am beginning to realize it's not worth the price paid.
My family has been using Tinybeans since my daughter was born in 2018. We even paid for the no ads version when there was a free version available, we loved it so much. However, like so many other companies, Tinybeans does not prioritize the Android experience. The app has been broken for me for approx 2 weeks - photos posted by other people don't load, missing comments, super glitchy, home page is now "ideas" aka marketing instead of the calendar of photos of my kids. I thought it was just me or my phone but reading all these reviews has been eye opening. It's amazing that for weeks Tinybeans did nothing, then emailed us telling us to update the app, but there's no update available. I will be exploring other options for photo sharing for my family.
Video uploads stall halfway, then populate a bunch of false videos on the current date every single time you open the app. The FAQ page does not work, the questions don't open when you click them. The Contact link just gives me some text with my app version and device, there is no email address or anything... This app used to be great but has gone downhill since moving to paid version. If I weren't already 18 months invested, I'd find a new app.
So disappointing. I definitely recommend looking for a different app if you want to keep memories of your kids. I joined in March 2020 and for about a year, the app was great. It's steadily gone downhill in the last year plus; my most recent complaint is that I can't access the majority of my custom albums even though I pay for an annual subscription. I keep getting locked out of my albums and told to subscribe. It's always something; uploads fail, they appear on the wrong days, blank images...
I've been using this app since 2017 and it's been wonderful until the past many months. I was okay changing to the paid subscription, but the product you get is subpar to what customers received when it was free. Videos won't upload, they get stuck in a queue, and I have a feeling that I will have lost hundreds of videos that have been "uploading" over the last many weeks. Family members no longer get email notifications and when you log into the app, it shows some random date and year.
I started using TinyBeans in May 2019, I paid for the lifetime membership (which I don't think exists anymore) and for years we were very happy with it and so was family. However, we've been having more and more issues, the biggest being that it takes forever for photos to upload and it doesn't seem to work unless the app is open. I've finally pulled the trigger to switch to Family Album, and of course I'm having tons of issues downloading my photos off TinyBeans despite the guaranteed I can.
Tinybeans was a great resource for sharing photos of our kid with friends & family. But the recent update introduced bugs (it takes a day to see photos that others have uploaded) and features that detract from the core experience of sharing & viewing photos/videos. When you open the app now, you see generic articles instead of photos. The articles aren't useful as a parent and definitely aren't valuable to friends & relatives who use the app to see kid pics. Hopefully they make some changes.
Have loved and used this app for almost 3 years (great alternative to social media and a wonderful journal for me to keep track of my kids as they grow), but I have an Android and the past few months it has been very glitchy. I can't get the emojis to work and I tried editing a photo by adding words and that is glitching out too now 😞. Hoping it will be fixed soon!!
Bait and switch. I have been sharing memories of my son with extended family for the first 1.5 years of his life, only to find out now that I will have to pay $40/year to continue uploading. I don't care about extra features that they say they are adding; I just want the basic photo sharing app I have now. There are plenty of other apps that will continue to allow me to do this for free. I have switched to Family Album, which gives me the basic sharing functions I want.
App worked great for about a week, then decided I didn't have a subscription I paid for. I logged out and back in to see if that would fix it, and now my subscription is there, my albums are still there, but it deleted all of my memories. All of my time and money is wasted here. Update: it seems that nothing actually uploads beyond 95%, so none of the memories are ever really there.
Absolutely unacceptable business practice. Opened the app today to find that I'm no longer allowed to post without a paid subscription. With their service changes, I received no communication/notice that the available fee-free service would end. We (my family and I) have been using Tinybeans for years and have always said the app was okay but never good enough to pay for. You can't scroll through images on a day, uploads often glitch, no comment response options. I don't recommend this anymore.
11/21: App crashes a ton when trying to upload videos. Doesn't work with Android. Submitted lots of tickets in the past. Gave up on that, too. 12/19 Bought premium lifetime membership and multiple times uploads won't go through to other users but show up on mine. People have had lots of problems with login and notifications. Hope they do better.
The idea is a great way to keep family involved in our daily lives, but the app is so glitchy and it's frustrating. I didn't have any issues 3 years ago, but it seems like there's always something new wrong lately: can't upload videos, can't edit the captions after photos have been uploaded, can't tag each kid, family doesn't get updates, etc UPDATE: Without warning they're now charging existing customers for the basic membership? UPDATE#2: Paywall was another glitch.
So frustrating now. We have a paid subscription and we love the idea, but it seems like it's one bug after another. It got even worse once Red Tricycle took it over. Right now, videos aren't uploading properly and half of all uploading are getting stuck in a queue. Whenever I open the app, it says "[#] moments downloading." My parents also upload moments and they are now constantly confused. This has become frustrating for the whole family. I wish it would just work so we could enjoy it.
