Tor Browser (Alpha)

Very good program, no problems establishing and maintaining a connection to the Tor Network and accessing restricted websites. There are a few small bugs: -I wish there was an option in the settings to automatically connect to the Tor Network when the application is started, instead of requiring the user manually click the onion-shaped "START" button. I only launch this app on my device when I intend to connect to the Tor Network, it would make sense to connect-on-launch. -There is an option in the settings the user can uncheck to disable Always-On Notifications, but the option does not seem to work. -The "save file" or "save image as" options on webpages does not work. Maybe the application is saving the images somewhere deep in the applications folder, I don't know. But there is nothing in the standard downloads folder in Android, this is inconvenient for most users. Overall though this application does the job, and does it much more smoothly that having to use Orbot and Orfox separately.

Helped me in improving my downloading number of times , I have downloaded it many times . it's a non-working AAP of all the time , wasted my phone memory , helped me with ending my mobile data . it's good with it's virus providing facility , unmatched and forever great full facility , don't even think about getting rid of it.

heads up , doing my job, this is 2026 , and nobody wants to deal with all the nonsense in sign in and settings configuration, just because you don't have American YouTube app with copilot ai security link layover, when connecting and running across the entire world of internet travel path door opening and cleaning behind the user of internet travel path destinations ! , it's just way to much , so you are out of the race this year! 🙏 God bless and have fun building, for the race next year 💓

After the last update, the app is so slow. So, I deleted, and installed other version. You are killing the app after every update. 😤

out of the 4-6 different tries with the simplist requests. this browser took me nowhere. it wouldn't load, it had to be refreshed multiple times and it took forever to get stay on the same blank page. the extra star is for the one successful load.

Why does it no longer have its own Tor browser icon? Also - this alpha version of Tor Browser no longer works. No sites will load, after connection.

The current version doesn't work anymore. No page is loading, be it Google or online banking related websites.

So maybe I'm glad they removed Android 7 support given how often basic features would break. The bookmark export/import functions that Firefox on PC has would be nice right now ...

On linux, windows, and android, for alpha edition 3/5, refuses to load networks such as fediverse pleroma. ""Normal Tor Browser will work off of play store with .apk installer on android, .exe windows, .zip for linux unarchived and load in linux. Ladder tor alpha obviously needs error, bug, or fixs needed to connect to pages and networks. Runs great with normal version of tor web browser though, not alpha. Alpha worked out of box in past years. Hope tor team can fix these issues in future.""

Doesn't connect, useless, don't even bother to download it does not work, 200% useless

new update is so bad , i cant disable No Script extetion , the sites isn't open some times for this

it now does not function, it used to be great. lost a lot of data .

recent update to beta version has rendered the app useless no longer connects to any sites not even duckduckgo 🤷

I like Tor, it's a good app, Will continue to use it. The only thing is when you look at the logs it shows who's hacking your phone. I saw everything they wrote. smh. I wonder what their purpose is? well maybe Tor can figure out why they're doing their app in that manner. Well thank you. I recommend it.

I have used this program before and I saw a lot of other comments AKA reviews in the Google Play Store that is bad and I disagree for those who said that it's bad it's understandable this app is mostly used for dark web me myself I have not used dark web for malicious purposes and I will never and I do understand that you might be frustrated that keeps crashing well I mean it's the dark web it's very sketchy so of course it will crash

Plain and simple, real easy to use... It does tend to stray away from your original search and if you search for things like names, brands, titles, places,etc.; with uncommon spellings, it returns your search with its "corrected" spelling and wrong search results, or with people names, if there's anyone famous with that name, you will get nothing but results for that person ... Aside from that, it gets 5 stars, best one for privacy n the dark side !

App no longer works since the last update. It crashes just after opening. If I can click connect, it crashes. If Ian even connect, it crashes. If I'm lucky, I can load ONE page before either the app crashes or I get proxy server error messages. And you guys want me to make this my default browser?! Lol, how about NO. I'm absolutely disgusted. Because your latest "update" also wiped all my bookmarks. Thank you SO much for this wonderful browsing experience 😡

Does what it's supposed to do. The only regret i have is, since this project is based on principles of freedom, users don't get to easily switch their guard relays. Also, there is perhaps no way on android to see the circuit / from which our data is travelling like in Desktop version. Other then that, bravo Torproject Team.

So far, the browser is ok for an Alpha. But: That typewriter font is not confortable for reading, pretty slow and, most important, it has affected my phone performance. Some apps, such us Twitter and Spotify, crash almost all the time. I will move to Orbot for now. Still, is a very promising app. Keep the good work
