Good for buying train tickets. So far (used it for three journey purchases) it has been easy to find and buy tickets. Personally I'm not bothered about spinning wheels and other gimmicks that get in the way a bit. But as long as I can ignore them and just get a good deal, or even help me navigate through all the complicated pricing, on train journeys, I'll be happy.

BEWARE! If I could give this zero stars I would. I attempted to purchase a ticket for the Milan Airport train departing Milan Central. The app does not produce the ticket, they send a code to your email which you have to enter into the app to confirm. It is a timed code. Needless to say, I was unable to satisfy the app, they had my money but I had no ticket. I had to run and find the one machine in the Terminal that sold tix for that train. Insult to injury, my credit card didn't refund. BEWARE!

Great train app. I've used many and I find this one really clear with the best prices showing. Some apps show just regular prices, even though you know they are cheaper if they call at certain stations on the route, and even enter the appropriate station as a via option. This app shows cheapest prices. I've not used the offers as I'm usually in a rush to book a ticket. But I'm just happy to find an app that shows the best prices and is easy and quick to use.

It's easy to misunderstand how to use this app and purchase more than one ticket because there are delays in the processing. You'll be billed twice or more. I sent 10 messages. I sent bank transactions, ticket screen shots, credit card charges, email proof. They never intend to give your money back, only wear you down. Thameslink also has a dispute process, but no one getspaid to return your money. Don't use the app. Go direct to the rail service, so you're only dealing with one company.

The app at first was great compared to other platforms. However, I feel that the competitive prices are becoming less of a priority for regulars. They keep pushing a 'Trainsplit Plus' service that charges a monthly fee to access the best prices. Secondly, the voucher offers have become almost non-existent. Thirdly, they keep pushing a cashback when you spam your friends and family. Every week I get a 'You have £18'.. But only when you spam 5 people to claim it. I tried and it never worked.

Don't usually bother doing reviews, but you deserve it. The spin the wheel game is crooked. I understand it's designed to get you to sign up as many people as possible and played along with that until you didn't. My referral code was used by multiple people, but funnily (not actually funny in the slightest) suddenly people who signed up stopped being able to complete the steps required for me to earn that final .10 to receive my £30 discount You best believe I spend on or recommend trainpal

Way too busy in terms of design. I'm trying to buy train tickets. It's intensely frustrating, annoying, and distracting having to close hundreds of pop ups and mentally blank out the moving notifications. No, I don't want to plant or water a virtual tree. I don't care about energy points. I want to buy and use train tickets. If I wanted to play a game I'd download a game app, I don't want one on my train ticket app.

Definitely good and useful app. It is easy to use, made some good split ticketing savings and better at finding routes than some other apps. However I didn't spot any warning that it was essential to book seats on one of the routes offered, and the seat booking option is hard to spot. The app didn't seem to offer electronic tickets, only paper, and a bit more route detail would be helpful.

Previously was fine with it, an annoying rigged gambling game but it was easy to ignore. Then it gave me a digit less than necessary for my ticket collection, I submitted a report of this on the website and have received no reply in the last two weeks. Cost me £60 and almost my train journey. No option to request a refund for the incompetence of the app. Use trainline, costs about a quid more but a lot more dependable.

The colour scheme & highlights like timings, ticket, & subcategories could be a bit better on the brain. After a while of back and fourth navigation, it all starts to blend. I didn't find a way to have real time travel (which stations you're approaching) to get me IRT alerts so either I'm being a bad user or they do not have that feature (except for a separate app tabs). I was impressed by the refund process. quick and honest. & the app never locked. I'll definitely use it for further travel.

Okay but still needs work. The only advantage with using this app is it splits the journey, but 9 times out of 10 it costs exactly the same as booking through the train operators app directly even with a railcard. The cashback thing is a bit of a con as it lets you get to a couple of pounds short of the total needed. Great if you know loads of people who regularly use the train, if you don't you never get anything (ypu have to share the link with friends etc) so there isn't much incentive.

The app was great at first but recently it keeps freezing. It does save money on train tickets but then when I look at the money saved Vs the time spent booking tickets when the app keeps freezing makes it overall easier just booking else where, it maybe slightly more expensive elsewhere but quicker and less stress.

Railcard discount is a con. I attempted to purchase a 3 year rail card at discounted price of £60, got as far as approving in my banking app then the trainpal app bombed out. Had to completely close to progress. When I went in again, only offering Railcard at the higher price and saying I've already used the discount code. what a con!! Disappointed as this was recommended on Martin Lewis web page

They advertise a 25% discount off railcards. However, when I finished my purchase, they charged me full price. I contacted Customer Service immediately and they offered a £2 discount as the only means of rectifying the situation. Shockingly poor app and Customer Service; high levels of corporate greed!

edit: booked an open return train, onky today realised they have added a bus transfer in the middle ("may include additional cost". Absolutely awful app. This site/app feels like a scam. I signed up with thr £11 fpr downloading the app but nothing has happened, also shows 5% off offer but that isn't working either. Then spun and 'won' £30 but that hasn't appeared in the account either.

Recently used this app to get a discounted Senior digital Railcard. The app is not that easy to navigate. At this stage, having used the Railcard once, & made a successful ticket purchase and journey, I then found the app wasn't working. The so-called human 'agent' was useless. A subsequent email was marginally better. A 2nd email seemed to be making recompense but was incomprehensible. I'll be going back to the Northern app.

The app is very good. It's very easy to find cheap tickets. It's easy to operate, it has many features, e.g., refund of the difference if the ticket price drops, you have deals and incentives within the app. There are no booking fees, which is even better, and there is a chat for help as well, should anyone need it.

The app is good for buying train tickets, but don't waste your time with the promotions - it tells you if you invite a friend it'll give you £30 but it actually only gave me £0.40 towards that total, it doesn't say how many friends you'll need to invite to actually get anything. very misleading and scammy.

Not intuitive, ui confusing. I went back to Trainline. In addition, they keep sending me emails and it conveniently fails when I try to unsubscribe, so I had to block the email. This review is off the back of receiving another email I didn't want.

Been a long-standing user of Trainpal and have to say, I don't have anything negative to say! I especially like and appreciate the variety of different discounts on offer, but also how it rewards your loyalty with cashback and the possibility to get further discounts via its own, standalone train card! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone thinking about using train services on a regular basis!
