Trunow - Find the cheapest gas

I've been scanning gas receipts into this app for at least a few years now. A couple months or so ago, the app stopped working. I could no longer get into my account to either scan more receipts or cash out. I have e-mailed the company multiple times; and all they say is they're working on it. Requests to simply cash out because the app doesn't work anymore have gone ignored. Last month, I finally filed complaints with the Georgia Consumer Protection Division and the Federal Trade Commission.

If I could give negative stars I would. We have multiple vehicles and debit cards, which apparently aren't allowed. I've also been a member for months and every current receipt I turn in gets rejected for being "before my sign up date"--which is not true. Also, if you spend over $50 total at the store (gas + purchase) that is an automatic rejection. So, never fill up. In other words, don't waste your time with this app.

It has to be specific receipts. It won't take the one you get when you pay, it has to be the one once your done. Also, like most of us, or credit/debit cards expire/change. App will get tonwhere It states there's too many cards & reject your receipts. When I 1st signed up it was so easy & I was able to cash out (not much, but something). After that cash out, nothing due to having new cards or too many. And with Covid, not all of us want to be handling cash to go into a gas station every time.

This used to be an ok app. You don't get much for your receipts but I still used it. Now a few of my/husband's cards have expired and we got new ones. You can't have more than 8 cards you've used ever, and after emailing support several times I get the same automated response that there is no way to remove my old cards. So my last 6 or sp receipts have been rejected, and since I don't have any of old cards, it looks like I just can't use the app anymore. It's a huge disappointment.

Not worth the effort. Customer service is rude and lacking. Be warned they limit the number of cards and will just start rejecting submissions. Ok, that's fair enough, but the kicker is updating card details on your account. You can only update account ONE time ever. So if you lose your credit card or get a new one, you're SOL. Also, as others have pointed out, unless you redeem with like an Exxon within a few miles your cashout is cut in half! No options for me! Can't even get to $5! Weak.

DO NOT DO IT. Not worth the time or energy spent! No stations in our area, or any area I've search to redeem so you take half the payout for any return. Apparently, I have too many cards on my account so ALL receipts are now rejected. Customer service is not helpful at all and takes days to respond with without resolution. Deleting and leaving the whopping $7 in my account ( which would turn to $3 with the actual 1/2 payout and can't redeem until over a certain amount anyway) .... worst app.

Rejects most of my receipts because I am at the same station more than once a day or have too many cards on file. I use a lot of prepaid cards so the 8 cards their system accepts isn't enough when I can't edit what is on file. Rewards aren't accepted anywhere that I have found so I cash out for half the value I have earned. Now my account has mysteriously disappeared. It acts like I am logged in but my accumulated rewards are gone, member number is gone, and I can't scan anything.

Lately every receipt is being rejected. I was told payment could not be verified! What gas receipt have you ever seen without a payment type or form??? I was told a receipt was too old, got gas that day! I was told picture was unclear even though it was. My last receipt was rejected because it said it was not retailer verified...what does that mean? Seriously thinking about uninstalling the app. Had it since 2019 and only managed to get $8.83. I had GetUpside for 6 months and got $32.47 already!

I give this app 2 stars. I continue to use it and for the most part it seems an ok app. I don't like how this app rejects some of my receipts just because it's from the same place on the same date. Sometimes I make several purchases from the same places at different times of the same day...including gas since we have more than 1 car...so I should be able to use all those receipts but nope, this app rejects those receipts. So for that reason the rating dropped from 4 stars to 2 stars.

Good in theory but never works. Only can upload a photo while at the pump, can't do once home or when time may be more convenient. Also 90% get rejected for either not being a Station in their network (which doesn't say before you waist your time) or because the receipt is too long making it very small to read but they will also reject if you don't show full receipt. Out of 18 receipts so far only 5 were approved earning a whopping .44 cents. Overall not worth the time yet

The people in customer service dont care at all about your inquiries. They are rude and short with you. They only allow 7 payment methods, which would be fine if you could edit them but they dont allow edits or at least they havent for me. Also it takes an eternity to cash out any rewards you may earn. But the lack of updating payment methods is the most absurd thing about the app. To expect an individual to have the same debit cards for over a year is unreasonable!!! Dont waiste your time.

This app is a joke. You can only redeem half your balance for cash. You can redeem the full balance at an affiliate store... which apparently do not exist. You have to have at least a $10 balance to redeem $5. I finally got to $10, redeemed my $5, and the other $5 disappeared. I deleted the app. Not worth the hassle. Don't bother with Trunow.

I'm still waiting for my 5 dollar cash out it's been almost a month now. I've emailed trunow about a week and half ago and received zero response from them. Also many of my receipts we're also rejected for bogus reasons. This app gets one star honestly should've given them no stars. Let's see how much longer it takes to get my meassly 5 bucks. Update it took 1 month to get my 5 dollar payout just ridiculous. Others apps I use take 3 to 4 days. which I think is fair.

Just got back from an 8,000 mile road trip. I have used this app for a while, and it does NOT work as described. Fully 40% of receipts are rejected. And the money that is accumulated has been impossible to spend. There were NO Retailers available in CA, AZ, NM, CO, WY, NE, SD, ND, MN, WI, IN, IL, KY, TN, AR, or KS. Very disappointing. It is also difficult to update pricing when the app shows where you are, but says that the ststion you are at is too far away.

This app has gone downhill since it began. Yes it is free money but most receipts are rejected for one reason or another and since there aren't any participating retailers near me I only get 50% of my earnings. They've lowered amounts earned per $1. It is really not worth the effort. Once I cashout I will be looking for another savings app that isn't so sketchy.

I have been attempting login for almost a month. I have attempted communicating with them via email, but their response time is horrendous. I just want to log in, but they never send me a verification text. I ask them to help me login another way and I guess there is no other way. In todays modern age there should be multiple ways to login with multiple verification methods,and if ones not working, they should seem more interested in helping their customer fix the issue. STAY AWAY IF NOT 2 LATE

Horrible locked me out of my account and I cant use my $30. that I have accumulated. I've been emailing then and no one can help, keep saying uninstall and install back. doesn't work I keep getting an error message that says 'oops something went wrong" and tells me to email them but they still dont help.. this is a waste of time seeing they wont let me get into the app to cash in to get gas. I STILL CANNOT LOG IN

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! Read the fine print. Cash back (via PayPal) is, at best, 50% of your earnings, or less. You have to use a Trunow "in network" retailer to get full 100% advantage of any value earned. Problem is I can't seem to find an approved retailer ANYWHERE. And certainly not in my local area. I am cashing out and uninstalling this app. Not worth remembering to scan the receipt when it is rejected 20% of the time and no way to appeal or re-upload.

UPDATE 12/23: Here we go once again! Why are you always rejecting my receipts?!?!? I do not have 8 or more cards. I use the same card and/or cash to pay for my gas every time. Please credit my account. This is not fair. I drive a lot so I fill up at least twice per week if not more. This app is becoming a BIG SCAM. ...had another issue with receipt being rejected. Says I used 8 different cards. So tired of this! I only use 1 card or cash. Used to give more rewards points too. Uninstalling AGAIN!

I've been unable to use my balance at any "participating" gas station. I'm having issues with my receipts being rejected for having more than 8 forms of payment on my account. This is bs. I use the same forms of payment, but it shows as different cards depending if I use my phone, watch, or actual card to pay. I have gotten new cards and the receipts are now being rejected. You should be able to update your current cards and delete the old ones you no longer use. Customer service is no help.
