On the whole, this app does what i need. I'd give it a 5, except when the book goes full screen, It took a while to figure out how to get the controls to come up in full screen mode. I do like the reading from any format. An instruction manual would help. The voice adjustment feature is great. Found that the British voice 2 sounds more realistic than the US voices. Being able to upload a pronunciation vocabulary would be nice.
If you're looking to JUST have it read a book to you, it does ok. But if you zoom in to see a word better, the zoomed in part becomes the whole page... you can't scroll around. If you are reading for school or something, it it doesn't allow you to highlight passages. It let's you select a passage, but doesn't save the highlighting which makes this all but useless for a student.
The app doesn't recall what page I was last reading, it always goes back at least 50 pages, maybe to the last page I was using TTS on? Being able to highlight text while reading would be a good addition. Also I've never found an ebook reader app that doesn't have random page brakes and spacing, but it seems less frequent with this app.
I really like this app and use it daily to listen to EPUB files I download. What I'd liked fixed: TAGS: - you should be able to delete tags completely, not just off files but altogether so it no longer takes up space. - tags have a tendency to not "stick" and will remove themselves from files if you scroll down to click another tag or if you try tagging while reading then Try to add more later. Playlist: You should be able to delete files off of playlists.
Was one of the best readers until the past few updates. Now I have to close a book after it loads and reload it in order to get it to play, CSS layout files get overwritten with original values when exiting the app, making custom layouts pointless, the verification pop-up for closing a book or the app using the "back button" no longer appears, and half the time a different CSS file is chosen for the displayed layout, the chapter list loads a different chapter than the one chosen.

recent update sucks. files not loading property and then they blank out and have one one one across the top and then I have to close the app and reopen it to try to get it to load again. then when I try to put on the TTS reader it won't work so that I have to close out the app again reload it and try to get it to work if it doesn't work I have to redo that again. hopefully they come up with a patch to fix these issues
Honestly, the interface looks complicated from first glance, and it just kept scrolling my book selection, could not figure out how to get the audio to work (and I've used many other similar apps) 🤷🏻♀️
love this app, use it daily for about a year and its nice to have a little library on your phone. the ads are super low key its great! also the replacement feature is really helpful for names the library seems tops out somewhere around 200 books but you can still open books from your files. the tts needs the notifications on to work? weird ALSO!! if you want to start the tts from a word you need to highlight it and click the speak aloud button, then the tts button. hope that helps anyone :)
Yes, after the update the app started to work. But I still cannot choose a voice: Google has a lot of voices for every language but here I am stuck with the default, which is not the best.
it reads text aloud. I found if you go to FAQ under voice, there you can change voice type.
Please, please put a provision for a cursor to be used to start reading at the point chosen! It's so frustrating when we want to read a paragraph in a document and we used the current cursor highlight a word play the word then press play and the reader starts reading a different paragraph (I assume at a too of a page). We just want to place a cursor at the point we want to start reading. Also: When reading acts it spells it every time! Also 'anytime a quote like this' It states single quote!Thks
Perfect. Just perfect. Does exactly what I want and more. If I hadn't ran out of credit, I'd have purchased the license straight away. I'm definitely purchasing a license in my next paid Apps splurge. Definitely worth the money. If they had their own speech engine, or something that can work without Google entirely, I'd give 5 Stars. Keep up the good work!
This app is amazing. I have used it to listen to multiple ebooks (for which I could find no audiobook alternatives) whilst driving. The app let me use the text-to-speech engine in my phone (Google's finest - a computerised voice, but that's not the app's fault!) and allowed me to reduce the reading speed and adjust the pitch so I could process the info being delivered agreeably whilst also keeping an eye on the road. As a result I arrived on a course having read the required reading list!
It reads text audibly. Even from a PDF, as long as it is not simply a scanned image (you will have to put it through an OCR then). It has a dark mode which is excellent. You can easily set the pitch and speed of the reading. You can easily skip to the next page. You can easily zoom in and out from the text and you can even turn the screen. When you open the app it presents the books and documents available on your phone and you can easily order it to list the book you were playing/reading last.
Good app. The only issue is that I can't find out how to change the text size for epubs. Seems like a common setting for readers but i searched for a long time and couldn't still find it. If yiu can add this or atleast tell me how to change it(or better off, make it more readily accessible if it already exists), it would be great!
I've been using prestigio reader for some time. And it is a very good reader. Thought I'd try a tts reader as the 1 on prestigio didn't have enough options. I downloaded about 6. But this is by far better than them all. The interface is good and the reader has lots of options. Plus the widget looks good too. Can not fault this at all. Dev needs to improve the icon on play store as it doesn't stand out like the others. Almost missed it. It doesn't look as professionally made like the app.
I love the ease and practicability. You can adjust the voice, pitch, tempo and volume. I recommend it 👌
I want you to add these features in TTS : 1. An option to highlight the line which is being read.. 2. New line and para change without a full stop aren't clearly read. So, make it work properly... Everything else is fine.. A good reader, supports all formats, Text to speech for books.... #Best, If you are interested in reading books and you don't have the audio formats of the books then you are at the right place...
app keeps freezing and has to be closed and restarted may be the ads
Not good at all for reading Arabic files
