Twilio Authy Authenticator

New UI is meh. I really hate the size of the text and would like it to be customizable; I'd like to be able to shrink the text size a bit, a lot of my accounts get cut off because they don't fit and if I have multiple accounts under one company (like I do for Microsoft for work), I can no longer quickly distinguish which token is for which account. Also, dark mode only covering the bottom half of the screen while the top is light is clinically insane.

I agree with others. The new UI is terrible especially when you have a lot of codes and multiple for the same service (different accounts). I had around 30 codes. I could no longer easily distinguish between them. Why are you hiding the account info in the list? Also being tied to your phone number and discontinuing the Desktop app makes it hard to have a backup when you only have one device to install Authy on. Also no export option. I just moved to another app.

New UI is harder to use and feels cramped. No dark mode. Some of my icons don't show anymore untill you edit, but then it goes back to a key. it's hard to find the account you're looking for. Edit after a month: The more I use the new UI, the more I despise it. It doesn't remember the previous account selected, but it remembers the scroll. The transition on the timeout is misleading since it makes you think you have time when you don't to enter the code. I'm going to look for a different app.

this new interface, while 'pretty' is not as user friendly as the old one. it requires more clicking, and makes it harder to edit, and find what i need, when i used to know right where it all was. Like, just now, an entry that i knew was already at the bottom of the list, ready to find, i now could not find. It took me several minutes to log into a server where it used to take 30 seconds because i couldn't recall which log in name to search for The Devs are trying to justify their paychecks..

The new UI is horrible. Editing in list mode is not possible. The waffle icon layout sucks, but is the only way edit an item. Searching for an account to edit is not possible either. I have to scroll through a list of of accounts to edit the desired account?? And since the update, I can't find half of my accounts because they suddenly have either a colon in it or an underscore added to it. Very frustrating.

New UI has no dark mode and can't maximize the code you're looking for so you get lost having to look back and forth from phone to PC. Can no longer see email addresses associated to each accout. Is it your work one? Personal? Admin account? You can't see anymore so try em all! It's time to search for something better. Annoying but the main reason I used this app (because desktop) is no longer valid.

Really poor update to the UI. All the website names are gone so its impossible for me to make searches based on that. For example, I have 3 IG profiles. I can't search with "Instagram" anymore. I have to search my username. It becomes really problematic with accounts that have my email. I dont even know the website anymore becomes its not listed in my nickname!! I dont recommend with the current UI.

I hate the new UI. It's hard to differentiate between the apps. Some of my icons are gone. You can search for a new one, but who knows where it's pulling from. The scaling is so small, you can't tell what they are. Searched for my credit union by the app name, and it pulls some old logo from who knows where. Also, all of the icon pictures are now in a circle so edges are cut off. Very frustrating they felt the need to change something just for change's sake. It's not better at all.

I have been using Authy for years, & it has always been a 5 star for me. I really hated it when they dropped the desktop version. But the most recent change to the app really sucks. The account name used to be big, and I could easily find the one I was looking for, now the numbers are big and the names are tiny! Who thought this was a good idea? Don't you need to FIND the account you want first? I use list view, as the other view is even worse as 80% of my icons are the same. Fix please.

Been using this for the longest time because of its multidevice capability. Still kept it around once they removed Windows support. Now removing it due to me being unable to access my account on a brand new Galaxy 24 Ultra due to "not meeting the minimum integrity requirements." Apparently this is happening to people with new iPhones, too. I'm lucky I have Authy on my tablet because, otherwise, I'd have lost access to all my accounts.

The app is great but sucks when it comes to reporting accounts that you can't delete. I tried to give a reason why I want an account removed but I kept getting the reason that some characters aren't allowed but you don't state which ones. Turns out you don't allow punctuation marks! After fumbling trying to figure what characters you don't allow, the app banned me from using the report feature for 24 hours after 5 trials to report an account. That's ridiculous! Try to be clear on that!

Trash. I just struggled for an hour trying to transfer to a new device. It refused to send SMS to my old device so I could approve the new one. I just had to disable a setting in the old device to receive the SMH. Which makes sense if you're aware that it's enabled. The error message could be way more clear. I'll be switching to bitwarden... I hear it's got 2fa now. Regardless I'm leaving. it should give you your codes with a a full 30 seconds on the countdown too

Was perfect, then they updated the app and changed the UI, which ruined it in 2 ways. 1: Dark theme is gone. Completely unacceptable in 2024. 2: All of my accounts are now sorted in alphabetical order for me, instead of leaving them in the order I had them (created date, newest at the bottom). Please fix #1 at least, I'm legit thinking of switching to something else so I can have dark theme again.

New UI is absolutely terrible, makes it much harder to find the proper site and get the code. Used to be able to search for the site name even if it wasn't in the account but now you just have to look through a whole bunch of icons, some of which are outdated or wrong. (some acccounts have the site name, some don't, unsure why, was not an issue before) If it's not improved soon I will have to waste my time migrating to another app because Authy is barely usable anymore.

I use two phones. I sometimes have no issues with Authy. But then it randomly demands the backup password when adding an new account. I save all old passwords, and none work. Not the current one, which I am able to set again in the app, and literally hit their own copy button, then paste into the decrypt password prompt, and not any previous passwords. The system needs work. It's just too clunky. Wish I'd never backed up any of them. The odd thing is this just goes away on its own sometimes.

I previously had rated the app 5 stars, but I'm lowering it to 3 because they no longer offer a PC app. One of the main features that kept me with Authy was the fact that you could access your 2FA codes on PC. However, I still am a fan of the simple UI and ease of use. Another thing is that they don't let you export your accounts, which can be a huge hassle, especially if you have a lot of accounts. Overall the app is ok, but it could be a lot better. Still recommend it over Google or Microsoft.

Hadn't updated the app in months because it just "worked". Somehow the latest update snuck through and the UI is absolute garbage! Icons are 3x the size (so fewer fit on screen at once), dark mode is gone, apparently an errant swipe will just delete accounts without confirmation. Icons were square in a grid before, compact, easy to access. Not everything needs to be round! God it's terrible.

Holy hell, this new ui is too white and too useless. I have several dozen accounts and only half have icons, the order they were in was removed and they all say "Google (...@...)" or similar which is absolutely useless. I have no way of knowing what account I'm looking at. And showing as many of your keys in one screen in high contrast at one time by default, are you sure you're a security company?

Backup sync is confusing and dangerous. If you need to move devices or restore, you are relying on luck. Sometimes 2fa accounts are synced, other times, no. This means some newer 2fas aren't on the backup and don't get to the next device. Don't change your backup password, some tokens are encrypted with one password, others are encrypted with a different password. Used this app for a few years, besides scary backup problem the main features of the app work fine.

When I moved to my new phone, I was given an error that my backup password was incorrect. It was the right password, and after reinstalling the app, it was able to realize that it was the right password. However, that new phone broke, upon getting a replacement, I had to sign in again. The password has never been able to work despite reinstalling twice and clearing its data multiple times, the password has never changed, so I have lost all of my codes.
