UK News: Breaking News & Local

Too many adds. I can't actually read articles. Just takes me to the adds constantly, then when I press back im off of the original article I was trying to read and then it's all starts again if I click on it or another one. Shame because I enjoy the range of reports and stories. Just way to many adds that divert me from the articles.

I like this app, however as much as I can accept ads on an app, the volume of them on here is pushing the boundaries of tolerance. The price for the premium version is too expensive, I might be tempted with a special offer. Maybe if there was an ad blocker on the inbuilt browser, or a way to link your own browser it would be more useable. Trying to read articles on metro news source is so frustrating. People will just avoid too many ads.

Don't waste your time on this app, it's rubbish, you can't read full articles for a few reasons. News articles are blocked by practically full blown adds for things or to subscribe to news article, other news suppliers want you to subscribe and pay a monthly fee. I just want to read a news article without this, it being blocked from reading more than a few lines without subscribing, so this free app isn't what it seems. awful! You decide what I watch, not me! I, want an 'easy select' for Evening Standard, Daily Express etc etc. What I get is a page on Sidcup - 5 light years from where I live. Damned thing asks me where I live. Then, locks up. Doesn't even offer choices. So what use is that? So I've binned it. Is far too complex by trying to cover all bases. Want a Simple choose a paper, read it! This App ain't it. I believe the writer understands it - but he/she/they aren't the majority

I loved this app and recommended it to everyone as it gave you lots of news you don't find elsewhere, but lately this app is a total nightmare and I'm unable to read most of the stories as its covered in cookies that won't go away even when you click accept.. This is such a shame as it used to work perfectly. No point in keeping it when I çant read stories. Have tried updating it but no change.

Had barely opened the app, and was in the process of setting it up, and what do I get?? Yes, you guessed it... Within a minute I get a pop up asking me to rate five stars. There's a second option too... "Doesn't Deserve it." Guess which one I pressed!!?? 🤔😂🤣 When will you people ever learn not to pester for a rating before we've had a "REASONABLE" opportunity to try, and to assess?? I have to say, I took great pleasure in uninstalling immediately.

Used to be excellent but now there are a lot of ads and clickbait. Plus they've started charging to read the most interesting stories and we don't have freedom of speech on their comments! Not as good as it used to be. I advise you to look at alternatives or look at the headlines and then search for the story using your usual search engine (Google etc)

Decent enough app other than the intrusive or embedded ads. I find myself wasting time reading before realising they're an ad not news articles. Also the number of clicks required to back out of an ad. Ridiculous price for ad free version. Greed never inspires trust. Edit- ads that persist for seconds before you can cancel, together with ads that use sound have lead to me binning this. Awful.

I use breaking news everyday well I try to but it keeps telling me it's not responding or it seizes up then my screen goes blank when I do get to write a comment, after so many words the publish tab disappears up the screen and there is no way to get at it to publish your comment. New problem ,constantly told about the use of cookies. Using this app on a phone you are constantly told they are using cookies which is annoying but more annoying is that there is no button to agree so you have to miss

Really frustrating experience. This is a really poor app so far. The Social media aspect of the app is poorly designed, mostly doesn't work and continuously crashes. Typing comments is really difficult due to the layout clashing with your keyboard. It's littered with ads. You can't navigate to what you just typed, or edit comments once posted. The notifications don't work properly. Nothing works properly. Should be taken off app store. Uninstalled.

This news app at one time was great, but news stories are now delayed being broadcast in other places before landing on their platform. Also the comments section is now overly scrutinized and monitored, even facts of events are now blocked, so what's the point of commenting if blocked by AI. So not as great as it once was Beloud is exactly the same and not worth downloading.

I'm getting increasingly frustrated with the app and a lot of the stories I am interested in is keep saying website can't be reached when I click on continue reading. The other thing im getting really annoyed with is it is not refreshing, one of the news stories is still up from June cos its about pippa Middleton at Wimbledon, even if I click on the local news all I get are football or sport related which im not interested in at all and again a lot of the stories are months old

EXCELLENT!!!!! I have an app that disables ALL ads on every application on my phone, except Youtube apparently, but as I have Youtube Premium, I don't get ads anyway :) AND in reference to your reply, you're MORE than welcome, thanks. I have absolutely NO idea WHAT ppl are complaining about ADs for, as I don't see any at all...unless I did something like possiibly paying for removal of ads, as I usually do that with all apps n most games too, automatically...WAY TOO much cash spare cash, me! lol

Not bad but too much screen space used up by useless junk. Needs better filtering (e.g 'sports' is too generic, need sport type). Also, adverts are infuriating: I'm not bothered with a few mixed in with the news feed, but there are just too many of them, but when the occasional full screen popup appears as well, it's almost like they intentionally set out to piss off their users. I do like the app. Straightforward and easy to use but why oh why am I seeing news that is 9-12 days old? I regularly update the app but would like less old news and more up to date news. That's why I only gave 2 stars. Forget 9-12 day old news. I have just reported news that is 22 days old. So if anyone wants up to date news, don't bother with this app.

occasionally good bits but a lot of the articles are old and repeated. App closes itself randomly and takes you back to the 1st article.

This app is a fookin joke and typical of the greedy money hungry modern world. Cookie settings hidden under overlays so you can't even select the option to reject them, whilst the video is playing unseen behind the cookie setings screen to rush you into giving up. Ads everywhere then more ads before the video's. I couldn't even try it out because of all the ads. If you pay £7 you still get ads on the individual pages when you get redirected to the story. Download this app only if you want to encourage this ridiculous greed and set a precident for every other app to follow. My rating is ahahahahaha fook off. Uninstalled.

Ideally your Breaking News flash is very handy when it pops up especially while browsing. Only wish that the flash stays on screen for a wee/couple, more seconds especially so I can just read it as.q.as.poss..Sorry I am not always a 'speedy' reader ;) but thanks though 'cause its really an informative idea - those flash.

Is their a way to give no stars! I only come here to see if the advert that stated 'everyone in my local area had this app' 🤣🤣 fake advertising because not one person I asked has even heard of this app! Also the news 'windows' are very, very similar to the advert 'windows' ultimately redirecting you to download another app that everyone has in my local area. AVOID THIS APP and stick with the main stream media your used too.

Adds Adds Adds I know you have to make money but it's ridiculous reading an article only to be followed by an add we have to wait until it's played out. Also your link to purchase doesn't work. Decent news content but Adds kill it. Sorry but not for me.
