It's frustrating that you can't do more than one lesson per day at first, but the one-per-day approach does seem to help over time. The lessons have all been well presented and the material is very helpful. I particularly like the optional reminders that can be set to pop up throughout the day. It really helps solidify the material learned through very brief practice sessions (typically 10 to 30 seconds each). No matter how busy my day gets, I can usually work that it. This program works!
It's very misleading if you are using it on an android phone. The app made it seem like I had unlimited free use of all the videos, and I was very disappointed to find that after 5 days of using it, it said I have to pay a subscription. It's just very disappointing to someone struggling with anxiety thinking they found something free that can help, only to get let down by having to pay. At least make it an affordable one time payment.
Useful app but I don't think that a steady monthly rate is the right way to charge for it. You get most of the value in the first month with the video content; after that, the reminders to "check in" and other content are useful but not nearly as useful. I would have been happier paying a flat rate to own it for life than to have to pay $30/month or $200 a year.
This is app is excellent. I started using this to manage anxiety and stress and it helped immensely (even through sporadic use). I made progress in spurts and maintained the practice in between. After some months, it had a pronounced effect on my anxiety. I regretted canceling my subscription recently as it had served me so well, but I'd stopped using it frequently (but only for making a habit of all of its teachings). I'd expect their other apps to be as impactful.
I got a free trial of this app through my insurance provider about 6 months ago and it was so helpful! I really felt better while using it. Sadly, there is no way to afford the app without my insurance. With so much time having passed and no way to refresh my memory and reinforce what I learned, I have noticed a significant decrease in my ability to control my anxiety. Shame such a wonderful tool is out of reach for so many in desperate need.
i needed more than seeing a therapist every 2 weeks to keep learning how to deal with anxiety and depression. "Small moments, many times" is their method. Each day has a short audio lesson of a few minutes. You are given a challenge for the day. Randomly throughout the day it sends you ways to check in that help you get out of your head. Finally, there is an online community, where other members and volunteers are available to discuss with you what you're experiencing. Highly recommend.
I liked the content for learning about the anxiety loops and the exercises were helpful to support that learning. I actually found that the app caused more anxiety because it generated so many notifications about reminders and they stacked onto previous notifications. I didn't like that videos could not play in the background nor could you control playback speed. I didn't like some of the self assessments as the responses didn't cover what I was feeling. I just put Other, not satisfying
This is insanely helpful and well made. I'm honestly shocked at the quality and quantity of what you get before you even have to pay. I've tried head space and calm which were alright but this seems like a much more rigorous, focused, and well researched approach to addressing anxiety with mindfulness. everyone's anxiety is different of course, but I'd highly recommend at least trying this out to anyone with anxiety issues.
I wish there were other speakers and more animated videos to keep my attention. instead it's the same guy speaking in every video... feels like I'm at college again with a professor lecturing me. I don't know if I'll continue.
Within the first few days you learn techniques to help tone down the worst of anxiety, which then creates space for you to work on the deeper mindsets at play. For me, I did supplement with other books and videos, but this course was definitely helpful during a peak period of anxiety in my life. Find a time to watch a short lesson every day (I listened on my commute to work) and write in your journal to reflect
Great app, unsustainable price. I love it, it's smart, easy to use, and was helping me a lot. I just can't afford 40$ a month toward it with all of my other expenses. I was thinking it'd maybe be 10$ or 15$ a month. But 40$ is just too much, expecially considering many people have several other subscriptions and expenses. I think this app is very helpful, and educational and easy to use. But due to the price I'll probably not continue with the program, which is a shame. This could help so many.
Excellent app. I've got generalised anxiety disorder and wanted help with increased anxiety due to covid. It's not a quick fix, it's daily practice and changing habits, but it transforms your experience of anxiety. The quality of content, expertise and how it is shared in short daily doses is great. Whilst the price seems high it's cheaper than mindfullness and anxiety courses I've done and the content as good and I've learnt more, and more importantly is much easier to practice day to day.
I normally don't write reviews but Unwinding Anxiety has been absolutely vital for me in dealing with my anxiety (diagnosed GAD) in a healthy way. The app is easy to navigate, the core modules are very sound and informative, and the check-ins give me that constant reminder and push that I need! Not only that, the customer service has been phenomenal. I needed help several times and each response was thoughtfully laid out, and solved all of my issues. I cannot thank you enough!
This program was recommended to me by a doctor. I've tried many things to reduce my anxiety in the past. I've been using it for 6 months and it's been by far the best program to help reduce my anxiety through genuine thought and habit change. It is not overwhelming (easy to feel that way if you are prone to being anxious) - you don't have to commit to sitting for long meditation sessions, etc. Highly recommend trying it.
Unwinding Anxiety is rapidly becoming my #1 go to on my phone whenever I'm presented with a stressful situation. I always used to go to a game which would sometimes make me feel even more stressed but the exercises available on this app have calmed me down and some make me feel much better! It's also nice to be part of the community so you don't feel so isolated in your issues with stress.
I am one of those people who are skeptical about mental health apps because they are so often shallow "feel good" quick-fix programs that don't actually fix anything. This one is surprisingly and delightfully different. After the 5-week core program (Free trial week and 1 month paid), I already feel like more than half of my anxiety has faded, and the other half is easier to handle. I've been recommending it to everyone in my life who struggles with anxiety. Five stars.
Seemed promising initially but after 4th session just will not allow you to proceed on free version, you have to sign up to paid version with no functional alternative. At that point I didn't think I had enough info to decide if paid version was worth it. And it's still sending me notifications which is annoying so I'm going to delete it which is a shame as I would have liked to have continued with it for longer
I have noticed substantial shifts in how I relate to and experience anxiety already, after using this app for the first week. Both the newfound knowledge, and tools I am gaining through the Unwinding Anxiety app are empowering. One of the reviewers on Dr. Brewer's book of the same name called it "game-changing", and I'd have to agree!!
I have only been using the program for a week but I already feel it is so beneficial to me. I find myself looking forward to receiving reminders and taking sometime for myself to go through the daily module. I couldn't afford the app so I sent them an email, and within 2 days I have received a 3 months scholarship. I so appreciate all that this team has and is doing!
Great app that proved very helpful. I will re-listen to some of the sessions repeatedly. It was a little frustrating to have access to just one new lesson per day. That frustration was amplified when I listened to the material for the day and was not able to access the next lesson the following day because I didn't fully complete the self-assessment from the previous day. Why not recommend that people just do one lesson per day but give them the freedom to listen to more if they choose?
