Not enough opportunities.. I waited until after Christmas, since I signed up around then, to see if the site was any good. It's the end of January now and i'm not having any luck. I've taken dozens of screeners over the past month or so, and I only got one $5 test, which was taken within the first couple of days of me signing up. Many many screeners later, that was it. Part of me wonders if the screeners aren't the survey itself, and i'm just doing them for free, because I never get accepted.
I'm finally uninstalling the app. It used to work great. For about every 15 to 20 tests, I could find one that fit. For over a year now, if I open it and go through one or two, it suddenly deletes all tests and gives me the "stay tuned" response. This app has had plenty of time to be fixed. It's become obvious that the company isn't prioritizing the android app at all and is happy to let it die.
I have been a member of UserTesting for several months and love the service. I have no issues using my computer, and until recently the app was fine. Now it crashes all the time and I get an error message "Something Went Wrong..." when I log in. After I answer questions, it spins and spins forever, sometimes loading the rest of the tests and sometimes getting stuck. I have tried deleting and re-downloading the app... didn't help. They need to fix this!
Normally works great with plenty of opportunities to earn. Lately keep getting a message saying "something went wrong, please try again" between each screener. It's getting annoying. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still happens. If I close the app for a minute or 2 and open it back up the message disappears but than once again after I do a screening, get that message again and have to do the same thing again. Never had this issue until recently. Please fix it!!
To be clear, I would like to separate my review of UserTesting as a service from my review of the app. As a service, UserTesting is an interesting way to make a little extra money in your spare time, and provide valuable feedback to companies on their digital products. The app, on the other hand, I find to be clunky at best. It takes 3 or 4 taps to find out if you even qualify for most studies. On their desktop application, you can typically figure out whether you qualify just by looking.
I was in the process of completing a test, when all of a sudden an error message popped up. It said that there was something wrong with the recorder and it couldn't proceed with the test. Afterwards it just kicks me out. I've sent an email to contact support. In previous tests sessions, I've similar problems with participating and had also sent emails in regard to each of those problems several weeks ago. However I've yet to hear from the help center, which makes this so much more frustrating.
The app is just as it says it is. The first task they have you do is downloading a different app that's essentially like those retail coupon websites that you can make money by shopping through it. That threw me off at first because I didn't want to have to download apps every time to do a review, but luckily after that initial test the rest was easy. It's not going to make you rich but it is easy extra money. Best way is to just leave the website open and have the app, you'll most likely get at least 1 a day. Some days are slow and some have more, and you can decline tests that you don't want to do. They have higher value tests as well if one, but the $10 ones are my usual go to
I cant even sign up. I get to the page to create your user name and password, and i follow the given parameters saying that you cant use your own name or email for your user name and the standard of one upper, one lower case letter, one number and at least 8 characters foe the password but it always gives me an error msg saying that "something went wrong. Please try again later.". I cant progress any further in the sign up process.
Would love to be able to review this app and service, but ironically I haven't been able to use it! So far the only user testing I've been able to do is discovering that when the app gets to the "choose a username and password" part of signup it just says "something went wrong, please try again later" and so far has not let me past that screen, and the website offers no solutions and won't let me finish signing up there either.
I had a terrible experience with UserTesting. The platform is extremely buggy. The tasks are often confusing and poorly written. I spent hours trying to complete tasks, only to have my work rejected for reasons that were not clearly explained. When I reached out to customer support for help, they were unresponsive and unhelpful. Overall, I would not recommend UserTesting to anyone. It's a waste of time especially if you have 3 stars, you would not see any more opportunities. Do Better!
The app keeps crashing and sends you into this very frustrating loop of having to sign in (even though you already are) asks you to install the app you are already using and the only way to get back to the homepage is click on the box "X" which then gives you a popup asking if you want to decline the survey/test, which you have to do in order to get the page to refresh, I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no improvement ☹️
Many duplicates of tests. Removed tests come back to the dashboard. Most tests will disqualify you after answering a series of questions, sometimes a dozen or more, and you will be lucky to end up being qualified for 1 out of dozens. It all adds up to so much aggravation and time wasted that the pay rates are far less than what they seem. Hardly worth it in my opinion, especially when there are some technical issues to boot. EDIT- After being declined tests don't load half the time. What a joke
Typically don't have any issues with the app except it logs me out randomly. Have made lots of money using this application, and would recommend for those who have some extra free time and are savvy with tech. The logging out has never stopped. Extremely annoying and makes me want to only take tests on a desktop. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS To add to this issue, there are interruptions occurring in tests completely on the side of UT and when they occur they just refuse to pay out.
I love testing, but the mobile experience needs some additional feedback. First, I can't configure any notifications on Android. I get a ton of email notifications, but I would rather deal with notifications in the mobile app if it's for my device. Second, the app signs me out frequently. It's irritating to have to login to an app which is sitting on my secured device. At least give me the option to sign in with a finger print if security is a concern.
I joined User Testing about 10 days ago and so far I am super impressed. Not only do they pay well, but the tasks have been varied and interesting. 5 stars from me so far!! Update - still loving this app. Yes you get screened out of lots of the tests, but it's done very quickly, and doesn't waste your time like some surveys can do. My only small issue has been a couple of the phone tests that have disappeared on me while I have been following instructions on how to prepare my phone. I have completed lots of tests though, and get paid regularly. Love it!!
So frustrating!!! I take hours and hours on the screener things and when I finally get a test accepted, it says something went went wrong on the bottom of my screen on my phone and then it just loads forever and ever until I have to finally decline the test so I can actually try to find another one that'll work. It's been about four or five days of this and I've had to decline probably a dozen tests and have left support services over a dozen messages And nobody has ever gotten back to me once!
I've used this for yrs & typically made about 200$a week but now can't sign in it just goes back to the sign in screen. Each update is worse than the last. I bought a new PC bcz I thought the old one was too slow but no, it was a horrible lag in the platform. Fixed that now I can't sign in. It's the BEST when it works but updates have made it not so good
Aside from being a permissions nightmare, I too had a test just decide not to work. Had to install a game and play it, I gave solid feedback for 35 minutes. At no point did it tell me how long this was going to last (though emails said 20 minutes), so eventually I had to just quit the test after wasting 35 minutes playing a garbage mobile game and talking to myself.
Update 5/29: I just updated the app as requested &now I can't log in. I enter my email and password correctly, but the screen cycles back to the 1st log-in page. I see that others are having the same problem. I emailed the support team with the issue and hope it helps. --Previous Issue-- I was accepted to take two tests recently and went through the pre-test setups without a problem, but as the timer counted down to start, the app crashed. I missed the chance to earn $20 so I'm not very happy!
I haven't had too much trouble with the app itself, there are a ton of testing opportunities that pop up for my android device. The only problem I have is that I have gone on multiple times a day for over a week on both my phone and windows laptop, and screened for every single test I was eligible for (some required having LG smart appliances which I don't) and have only been able to take one test. Out of at least 100+ I have tried to take. I'm about to give up on this thing all together.
