VarageSale: Local Buy & Sell

loved this app until the latest update, now I just struggle with it. it doesn't load and hangs up and crashes...it is constantly a problem and it is difficult to sell or buy without being able to communicate through the app. too bad cause I love VarageSale. won't struggle withbit much longer. if it isn't fixed soon, I will move all my stiff to another platform. please fix it.

The best place to find bargains and sell stuff you don't use. The only drawback is that users aren't allowed to ask for app payments. It was much easier to get rid of larger items quickly when we could post "Venmo holds" on "flash sale" items. Otherwise, everybody wants the item to be held for them, then gets mad of someone else gets there first. Too many "can I come at X time" and "How many people are ahead of me.." It's too much work, and now angry people know my address. 👎

Constantly freezes with error meassages galore! This used to be a fun site to sell on but it is unusable. When posting a new item, you enter in all the photos, title, description, and price, but it won't publish unless you go back and delete a letter or a number in each area, add it back in again, then it accepts it. But it won't include any of the painstakingly entered description when you go to the site to check your listing! Too much work to sell anything. Will be deleting my account.

I just installed yesterday. Says because I didnt use a selfie photo, it can take longer. Approval still pending from admin. Its not as fast as other buy,sell,trade apps, even if email and phone is verified. The admin I got also used a landscape pic. If it takes this long to be approved...its gonna take longer to sell anything. The less convenient it is, less chances of anyone signing up just to buy something.

I enjoy varagesale very much. I've been using this app for about 8 years. I've found so many great deals, and I've sold a lot of items. I love how safe the meetups are. The app works great. Except, I have noticed if you want to change one of your pics to make it the "cover photo" for your item, that option has never worked. Otherwise, I love how organized everything is..especially how it keeps up with all your transactions.

I like VarageSale...it's a nice garage sale site. I like some of there rules. Not all. Most of the ppl on here are fair with price. But some ppl price stuff like u are shopping at a department store. I buy from of the same ppl . There is alot of very nice ppl u met. Over all its not a bad site. Sometime issues with the app. It is frustrating & 1 of the ppl I buy from has had issues for alil over a wk. And didn't get the notification of the items I want.

A little frustrating. I used Varage in the past to purchase and sell items in my community. A few years ago, the admins were always on top of sellers/buyers that were horrible with communication or none at all. As the app grows, it seems as if it's too much for them to handle. I recently got logged off, can't remember my password. I have requested "Forgot Password", 4 days later, still waiting for an email to reset my password. I've tried multiple times now.

Couldn't sign up, couldn't log in, couldn't find a community for me.... Logistical nightmare. It's like they don't want me to actually be able to use their app. Nothing but slow loading screens and error messages. I *think* I was finally make an account after 30 minutes of trying, but I still can't get the app to work. Really annoying. Do not recommend.

I downloaded this app specifically to find and locally buy an entertainment center. The app requires you to be in a "community group" and you must be approved before being able to buy anything, including messages to seller or just saving an item in your favorites. The problem is that the "approval" takes days and the you're only allowed to sell/list items while you wait! I browsed other local buying apps and already purchased what I needed in the 4 days I've been waiting.

Admin are very unprofessional and pick & choose which rules apply to certain members. No shows are supposed to be three strikes and they're out, but are on the site after years of the same stuff! No accountability for the people who wreak havoc, and lots of glitches within the app. People are constantly saying they're interested in stuff and never respond, or show up. Has definitely went downhill over the years! There are a handful of great people on here as well which is why I stick around!

Great idea but too complex. I don't like having to join separate communities. It would be nice to enter a location and search within "X" amount of miles from my zip code. Instead I have to ask permission to join other communities to see what's in different areas. Marketplace and Craigslist are easier to navigate and I can search countrywide without having to join groups. Another feature this could use is animal sales, pets and/or livestock. Tried it but uninstalled shortly after downloading.

I was looking forward to selling some things on this app but it was right off the bat too intrusive with my Facebook account. It wanted total access to all my Facebook account information. So, unfortunately, I had to uninstall. I don't want an app to have access to all my postings, what groups I've joined and those postings plus all my friends and their information.

Issues remain unaddressed. People never respond. I inquired about several items, but got no responses. I don't know if this is due to laziness on the sellers part. I suggest adding an expiration system like craigslist has, to weed out the posted items that have no activity from the original poster for a set amount of time. i see posts from 5 years ago still active.

The interface is very straightforward and self explanatory until you find an item that you want to purchase. It's kind of awkward bc you have to post a comment and hope they reply, then figure out the rest. The option to buy should be readily available for those impulse sales.. And to create a stress free buying environment.

I would give this app zero Stars if I could. my friend recommended this app to help me sell a few things sell a few things. Even though it had a low rating, I thought it was worth a shot. It took almost a week and a half for the app to verify me and for it to allow me to post in a local group. I have been trying to delete my account for almost 3 days now and the app refuses can not only delete my account but to even send me a form confirming the deletion. so take my advice save your time!!

I use this ap every day to buy and sell everything! Easy to use too! Also easy to post yard/garage sales! I recommend this ap to friends all the time! Update: There have been some glitches in the app lately. Plus these new adds they added make loading the pages to bump your own items take much longer. I dropped my rating from 5 stars to 4 because of this, but I still love the app... Unlike regular facebook sales pages, there is accountability if people dont show up or if items arent as describ

I don't get notifications until I open the app which makes me miss messages for pick ups. There is no report feature for people that don't show up or stop responding, you have to talk to an admin or report the whole transaction. Items are left on there for years without being taken down, which floods the available items with stuff that does exist. Also, some ads just blast sound for minutes at a time, and you have to close and reopen the app or turn off your volume.

Love buying and selling on this app. I really like the way it organizes the items you are selling by category and the feature that allows you to reserve an item for a customer immediately. It helps secure the sale. I also like how it color codes items that are available, pending a sale, and no longer available. The only thing is I cant seem to get pictures in my gallery to show up on a listing so I have to take pictures of the items Im selling through the app camera. This app is the best.

I love this app for many reasons! 1) I can sell my unwanted items without leaving the house. 2) I can buy an item without having to wait in line at a store; too many times it took so long that I just put the item back and left. 3) Porch pick up (PPU) is great, especially if you have kids! 4) Last but not least, you get to meet great people and be part of a good community!
