Viaplay: Movies & TV Shows

Absolute garbage! Paying 169 nok for app that doesn't work at all. I downloaded episodes of series so I can watch offline, well what a scam that was! App totally stopped working! Can't open episode, or anything for that matter, app just completely crashes. Tried opening it now probably 350 times, and every time it crashes, so it's not possible to watch anything, online or offline. Tried restarting phone, deleting app and installing it again, which deleted my downloads, still NOT WORKING!

Can't log in when I'm not connected to my home WiFi. At home a will use my TV, not my phone. When I'm away from home and want to watch something on my phone Viaplay doesn't allow that 🤡 You can at least log in with a mobile browser in desktop mode in that scenario, so this app is basically useless for me.

By far the worst streaming service I've used, laggy and broken on every device/app... takes several attempts to get live sports to function, and even when I tried just watching a documentary, it froze up several times without getting it to work. Never again.

Worse experience than any other streaming service in every aspect. Continuous deal-breaking issues in every category. No point in listing them here, just too many. Edit 13/2 2026: can't belive it but they are still actually making it even worse, a feat in itself. Started with a bunch of ai in their customer support. Ending my subscription now.

It's terrible. With app itself it's hard to find your profile to change settings. My app is bi-lingual eve though I have checked the settings.

worst app on any device i have. it would make more sense to use a pirate site. when it comes to sport the picture quality is horrendous. it it just stops and starts . no other sport app is as bad as viaplay. save your money and use pirate sites.

Been a subscriber since 2022, understand that you guys always have issues with login or stream, I don't really mind anymore. But please do some fixes for the future.

Viaplay app stinks....it loose my spot if switching apps and forcing the stream to start from beginning. No other streaming app have this error

Terrible app. Most annoying is the streaming to your chromecast. Live matches are lagging all the time.

Binge watching series is probably the worst experience I have had on a streaming service. Suddenly jumping over an episode for some reason and jumping back and forth with the skip 15 seconds button is useless. Also, the live football streams are the worse, sometimes lagging and lowering the quality when other cheaper services can run perfectly on my network.

No picture-in-picture is disappointing and no english subtitles.

I have reinstalled it 3 times, never works. Initially it lets me go through the login process after asking about privacy options, but just returns me to the login again without any message of error, even if login was correct. After that it just stays stuck on loading the app even if I restart it. At least viaplay works on the TV

The is no longer a pinch-to-zoom/fit to screen size option for the phone app. Now 21:9 aspect ratio films have black bars all around them because the application doesn't fit the 21:9 film properly to my 21:9 phone screen. This used to work, but not anymore. While watching films isn't the best on a phone, the black bars all around the film makes the experience worthless. The limited ability to filter movies is frustrating and means you'll waste too much time trying to find something.

its very slow , when the ads is done its just keep loading for long i never got a chance to watch

Dear Viaplay, I hope you read this. Your service; totally fine, quality; totally fine, offer; totally okay. Where you miss the ball (and me) is in the English language. Why not have the menu in English, why not have subtitles in English for every movie. Yes, even the English ones. It's so simple but it will open your your product to the rest of the world. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have cancelled my subscription.

So, I have a few issues here. With the App itself, the fact that only 1 person can watch a sporting event on the account at a time. Like have a limited number of profiles, and let that number of profiles watch the event. My biggest annoyance is the fact that I pay for both the TV channels and the app. And not one of the multiple TV channels are showing the Top 14 rugby final. All of them showing euro qualifiers. Random teams over the final of the Top 14? Update: even worse now than before.

I've been paying for Viaplay for a while now, and all of a suddenly a bunch of movies (the entire Fast&Furious series, for example) that used to be free, is now 49 NOK to rent or 89 to buy! I had 26 mins left of one of the movies that was included when I started it, but now I I can't finish it without having to pay. Ridiculous. I will probably end my subscription.

the app itself has only 2 languages (Finnish and swedish) , I hope you add the English language as well , thank you

Why is it that I can't minimize the screen when I'm watching live football matches? If I want to do other stuff on my phone or tablet, I can't minimize the screen. It totally goes off and stops. Kindly fix this because it's quite expensive

It's an OK app but the video quality is not good. Viaplay is by far the most expensive streaming service but, unfortunately, also by far the worst quality. Films and series are OK but live sport is bad. Low quality, video drops and is stuttering from time to time. And no, this is not an internet speed issue but a viaplay issue. For this price I expected more. A lot more.
